    Tzaangor prototype

Hey thanks a lot for the intel, I may give that a shot. I'll try to keep an eye out for more of your updates!

    Tzaangor prototype

Makes me want to throw my Tzaangor prototype in the garbage. Really nice work. That's similar to the skin Ive been trying to get, but just can't figure out how. -.- Goodluck out there!
  3. This is really neat. I was definitely thinking of my DoT when I was going over your idea. Not sure I could commit to actually writing it out, but I certainly appreciate your efforts!
  4. +1 to that. I already have a regular Magister, but if I add another, I'll be stealing this idea. Thanks for sharing!
  5. Oh, I do like the idea of Dryads growing up out of the base for her! I'm leaning towards "Blighted Tundra," or "Toxic Swamp," (on Warhammer TV), I may just do both since they should look similar. I'm not sure how often my DoT and Rotbringers will be on the same battlefield but I like the idea of the unified bases. Since your painting already looks good it may be better to let the miniatures look fancy instead of the bases. I'm not a fan of my painting so I try to trick people into thinking I'm swell with my bases. Don't tell anyone! Goodluck!
  6. I generally stay away from anything Order - but damn these guys look good. I really like the shield, and I especially like the idea of converting your Stormcast allies so they look like they've been given gifts or blessings or whatever. The painting looks good and the idea is awesome. Hard to say what the Aelfs are going to look like but that Visarch totally looks passable for AoS. Basing is always tricky for me too. I always need to make grand things and totally end up spinning my wheels. I've done cobblestone cork for Nurgle Mortals (now torn apart due to square bases!), then went onto cork/sand rocky terrain for BCR. When I finally get back to Nurgle or Tzeentch Mortals I'm doing one of Warhammer TVs basing methods and keeping ****** simple! I'm not sure if I would do all of the weapons for the SC in the same colour as the Syl. They are still Sigmar's pets. On the other hand, I do love that wood shield. Tying the basing together may be enough. Its what I'm thinking of doing for Chaos (all... like 6-8 Factions that I own), everyone will be in the Swamp of Nurgle basing theme, but with some flairs for that faction (Tzeentch stuff may be... uh, bluer?, Skaven may be... uh, drowning?). So something like that may be good if Sylvaneth is your main squeeze? Still, maybe the odd champion's weapons could begin to take on that blueish tint to it? What did you have in mind for the bases? A simple method or something fancy? I think I'm DONE using glue and sand. Texture paints all the way from now on! I'll try to check back... but I'm horrible at remembering to do so! Goodluck out there! P.S. Those SC with Scythes do look bad ass.
  7. I may have to finally invest in an airbrush. I was hoping I wouldn't have to, but I do enough stuff that its probably worth while. Thanks for the rundown and good luck on the rest!
  8. Super jealous. I haven't even started painted Tzaangor yet as I can't figure out a way to make it look as pretty as yours and the book's! Even the basing looks cool. Disc looks neat, what didn't you like about it? I'm a big fan of the skin though - which for now is the hardest part for me to figure out. Hope to see more!
  9. First Glotkin, now this? You are making a gor swoon. Alright, alright, I'll Follow you! What type of mechanics are you guys using for transfering from Platform of Awesome to Platform of Awesome?
  10. He looks like a very scary clown. Which is awesome.
  11. Makin' Papa proud, no doubt! Thanks for the battle report. Can't wait to get my own Lords of Ice Peak out stretching their legs. Thanks for the inspiration!
  12. Hey hey, The last of my Beastmen monsters! I've been steadily working on a Warherd army until the internet told me the Warherd is kind of bad, so now I don't know what the hell to do. I'm trying to keep motivated to finish off the last two 3bull bullgor units, but its kind of hard. When I made the army I was like "zomg im gonna win so many games," and now I'm like "I want Beastclaw Raiders." I always pick the wrong team! Anyway, here he is! If you saw my cygor, I was pretty unhappy with him. This dude I'm pretty happy with. My favorite part is his cute hooves. I think I did those well. I tried doing the horns similarly, but they kind of look not as good. Ah well, he's done. -.-
  13. Hate those dirty tree-creatures, but dig the story and that he's making a name for himself sniping and stomping his way through your opponent's generals!
  14. Good luck! Looking forward to seeing it!
  15. Really like the skin. Everytime I try to do my skin like that it looks like poop.
  16. I was going to write up something inspring, but I'm not all that inspired by this guy! I'm pretty sure I like how his skin turned out, but I think that's it. And even that is a little chalky! Not my best work I don't think. -.- I've been digging the Warherd stuff up until actually nearly finishing it. I may just be getting sick of painting Beastmen. I'm bad for wanting everything I don't already own, nothing I own is ever cool anymore. This weekend my interest has gone from Flesh Eater Courts, to Khorne Bloodbound, to Deathrattle, to Khorne Bloodbound, to Stormcast. Worst guy. Anyway, this bad ass is done! Ghorgon next! The Cygor arrives!
  17. Man I hope Nurgle hits me up with the ability to paint my maggoths that well when the time comes. Really nice work. Everything is bang on awesome from the bumps to the basing. >.<
  18. Stomping, squirming and fluttering, from the deep dark corners of the oldest forests, madness arrives! Pretty happy with this guy. I think I could have done the scales and horns better. I am happy with the skin and wings though! While I was going to do up the Bloodscorch Bullgors next, I unearthed 10 more Gor. While the Warherd is a bit out of my reach right now (I'd need one more ghorgon and nine more bullgor), the Brayherd is alive and well. I can easily run a Wildstalker Brayherd or Furious Brayherd though! Also, because so much of it is Battleline anyway, I can add in some monsters where I want and I'll still be swell. At least until we see a bad ass Allegiance bonus for Brayherd. Wildstalker Brayherd lets me ambush any unit from the battalion, and gives +1 Attack to all Melee Weapons for units within 16" of the Beastlord, and Reroll 1s to Wound if also within 16" of a Great Bray Shaman. Its like double and a bit of the points of the Furious Brayherd. And the Furious Brayherd lets me get the attack bonus from either the Beastlord or the Great Bray. May do this depending on points limit. The "amush" has to happen turn 1. But throwing a unit onto the table from a different table edge Turn 1 could be nasty. This could be anything from a 10gor Ungor unit to a 20gor Bestigor unit or 3gor Tuskgor Chariot unit. I'll still mainly run Gorthor the Beastlord as my general. His +1 to Hit, Run, and Charge CA is just so pretty.
  19. That's a tough decision and one that I'll eventually come up against too. I picked up a few warmachines and Ironsworn back in 8th edition. I'd like to use them in AoS but the warscrolls seem so lackluster. Can you use your Hellcannon as a counts-as Dreadquake Mortar? I'm not sure which is better, I think I saw the Hellcannon was FAQd to not be Mortal Wounds but I think that was in their weird Facebook FAQ and not in an official document? I'd think it may be easier to run a Hellcannon as a Dreadquake then to run your entire army as a Slaves to Darkness. Maybe!? Goodluck either way! They look much pretty as well.
  20. Should really paint Ghorros' eyes.
  21. While Shartok Dragonchewer continues his journey of bringing the Shard of the Herdstone to Beastlord Kaamagruul tribe, reinforcements arrive. Fooves pound across the plains, and drunken yowls piercing the treeline. The Sons of the Warhoof arrive - united in devotion to their father and a love of good drink. Ghorros Warhoof - here to drink, fight, and rut. The Centigor Herd - Born from regions across the Realm of Life, willing to defend their father with their life! Pretty happy with how these guys turned out. I really enjoy tinkering with skin tones lately. I still struggle with highlighting though. All of the gor-kin were done with drybrushing like two years ago but I'm trying to evolve! I'm also not confident enough to do anything with banners yet. All of my banners look way too clean for Beastmen and are bare for now. Maybe once I finish the rest of the Herd off I'll give it a shot. Next up - Moghur and three more Bullgor. I was really inspired by the Tauri BloodscorcherWhateverCan'tRememberTheirFullNameNow Bullgors from the Godsbeast book. I really like the idea of the Herd absorbing members as they march around. I'm not done it, but since they were fighting the Stormcast I'm sure they lose! So these can be some refugees or something. I'll be using the guide in the book. I usually don't like using guides either, but I think it'll add an interesting bit to the Warherd. I glued them with double hand weapons (all axes) as it seemed more Khorney - I realize its probably not as strong, but my first set of six have magnetized hands so I can do what I want with them. Has anyone tried running them with shields? Do they lose some effectiveness for not much protection? In the longrun I was thinking three units of six, each one equipped differently for looks as well as utility.
  22. To another Nurgle Rotbringer, that is an inspiring sight! I'm so close to finishing off the Beastmen, then it'll be time to get dirty! Gotta get my hands on some of those round and oval bases too. Look so sharp! Goodluck with the painting!
