  1. Hi fellas, I am new here. I have been sloooowly collecting and building, or at least starting to build a chaos army for AoS. Became a dad recently, so time for hobbies is slim - but I am trying still. I am hopefully going to stash my progress here, as I try to make a full army somewhat based on Masters of the Universe villains. I am going to play them as Slaanesh, but depending how the rules change I might swing a different way at some point. My group decided that we should try AoS as we all were kind of intrigued by it - we are veteran gamers but have had a bit of a break from GW games untill we started playing bloodbowl and it escalated from there. Nowadays building anything as instructed is nigh impossible for me, so I decided to go all in with a theme I really liked. I completed the first of my generals, lord of slaanesh on a daemonic mount / Evil-Lyn and Panthor. I have plenty of other stuff in the works, but I will let her lead the charge as she will in games. I am in no hurry as my time is limited, but hopefully I will add to this collection sooner than later.
  2. Heyo! I'll be using this thread to document my progress as I convert, kitbash, and paint my way through however many hordes of Skaven the Great Horned Rat ask of me. First up is the chainsaw-slingin' yet-to-be-named and properly painted, Arch-Warlock. He's rocking parts from genestealer cults, skitaari, and Ironjawz. I am very unsure on what his color scheme should be, so any suggestions on where to go from here is very welcome

Darkling Covens - 2018 Year of War

Hello, This year my FLGS is having a "Year of War" slow-grow Path to Glory campaign and painting/modeling contest for each month that culminates in a top-prize for the year in December 2018. Each unit has to be purchased/ordered from there, and is graded on originality, conversions, paintjob, uniformity, and basing. For the first month, we have to pick our General and paint it up, and I have chosen Darkling Covens. I'm going to update this over time.

    The Faithful of Eloni

Hi Guys, I actually had this project for quite some time here in the TGA-Community (august 2017) as a blog (with 1041 Views at the moment) Actually don't know, if blogs don't get much attention. So, perhaps I should do a thread here to. What happened until now. (in 2 parts 2017 and 2018) The Project actually started as a Ghyran Freeguild Projekt (before Generals Handbook 2017 arrived) The list was actually planned like this: Heroes Battlemage (100) Battlemage (100) Excelsior Warpriest (80) War Altar Of Sigmar (250) Warrior Priest (80) - Sigmarite Warhammers Warrior Priest (80) - Sigmarite Greathammer Warrior Priest (80) - Sigmarite Warhammer & Shield Witch Hunter (60) - Pistol & Silver Greatsword Sigismund (100) Freeguild General - Great Weapon Schwester Christina (100) Freeguild General - Great Weapon Freeguild General (100) - Stately War Banner Battleline 20 x Flagellants (160) - Devoted of Sigmar Battleline 20 x Flagellants (160) - Devoted of Sigmar Battleline 10 x Freeguild Archers (100) 10 x Freeguild Archers (100) 10 x Freeguild Archers (100) 20 x Freeguild Guard(160) - Speer, Schild 20 x Freeguild Guard (160) - Speer, Schild 20 x Freeguild Guard (160) - Schwert, Schild 10 x Freeguild Guard (80) - Hellebarde 10 x Sisters of the Watch (220) - Wanderers Battleline (Waywatcher General) 10 x Sisters of the Watch (220) - Wanderers Battleline (Waywatcher General) 6 x Demigryph Knights (320) - Lance and Sword - Free Peoples Battleline Units 20x Freeguild Greatswords (300) Most parts should be an Ghyran Order, called "order of the yellow rose" at this state, an monastery with Ranger optics. In the starting time. I created those Miniatures: Free Guild General (later Loremaster) Freeguild Archers (later Gladeguard) Freeguild Guard Battlemage With some other WIPs in this year: Greatswords Freeguild Guard Do to some switching between projects. The project was than interrupted until May 2018.
  6. So I got two soul wars' worth of castigators. I want to make them into viable deepstrike battle line, Judicators with crossbows. I'm thinking of: Rotating the vertical "bendy parts" of the crossbows to be horizontal instead. Removing the bombs at the tip of the bows (and from the hand of the champion). Perhaps adding sword, pike, or bolt tips from the bits box at the end to represent a resting/ready bolt. I'm not adding any lightning iconography nor the front pavisse. Do you feel that this is enough to be okay against all adversaries?
  7. "Sailing the seas of Ghur for the glory of Khorne!!" Hi everyone, this is my first post here! I've been playing 40k for a few years now and with the new edition of AoS I figured now's a good time to get involved with the other side of warhammer. My idea is one I've had for ages. PIRATES! specifically Khorne pirates! It's basically gonna be a bunch of blood reavers and fish-ified bloodletters As with all my armies, this will be conversion heavy, with no 2 identical models. Still need to come up with a name for the crew and the captain, unfortunately the only thing I can think of is 'Captain Bloodbeard' which is a bit cheesy. A few months ago my friend was selling a bunch of models for the early 2000's cheap so I snapped them up, ended up with a whole bunch of chaos maraurders and empire, So i made a start on some of the lower ranked crew members These guys will just be Khorne alligned chaos marauders. These were test models, the rest have been stripped (as best I can) and should be making more tomorrow! Thoughts?
  8. Hi guys had an idea of using grots from the gritmob grots faction on my gutbusters army. It's just because I think gritmob grots look better. What do you guys think, will I run into any problems? Is this an ok thing to do. Any feedback will be appreciated.

    Endless Spells conversion ideias

Hi all! With the upcoming Malign Sorcery supplement and the Endless Spell models, my mind is boiling with ideas for conversions in order to make them unique and aligned with the theme of my army - in this case Beastclaw Raiders... The idea was not to avoid buying the supplement - although it may help for some that may not want all the spells - but more to share ideas for thematic conversion of them, creating unique ones... In fact even the info we have so far points out that there are many "wild and undiscovered" ones... So will start with some Ideas... For the Ravenak's Gnashing Maw (the Ghur one), I will try to make it using a Stonehorn skull, floating with an aetheric tail sculpted with greenstuff, painted in a ghostly icy blue tone, which I think will fit more with a BCR theme... For the Prismatic Palisade I'm planning a wall of Ice stalagmites, sculpted with greenstuff too... something similar to my plan for the Quicksilver swords, flying ice stalactites... But I would like to use too the Purple Sun and the Chronomatic Cogs, but I am struggling with ideas for those... on a more icy, savage and ramshacke concept... Any ideas? And you? Are you planning something like this for your army? I would Love to hear, and try to help too... Like the Shardwrack spines (40k terrain) that would make a fantastic "thorn wall" for a Gyran theme Prismatic Palisade... Cheers AJ
  17. So, for my current project I plan to customise my sylvaneth and wanderer army. And what is an army without some awesome big bad boys...or ladies Drycha is one of these awesome models. And I always wanted to have a celestant prime in my army. But since the style of the original model doesn't fit so well with sylvaneth (at least thats my point of view), I started to build my own one in sylvaneth style The base of the model is build from the Drycha set. I rearranged the leg and arm parts for a more epic pose. I exchanged the torso and head with some leftover bits from Morathi. The weapon is supposed to be a big hammer, but I'm not quite happy yet. The basing should resemble the celestant prime pose - some magic lifting her in the air. I used the whirlwind parts from the Yncarne (40k), which I will pimp with some leaves to look like a autumn storm InShot_20180527_222204552.mp4 I plan to build a modular base, so I can use both the oval base for Drycha or a treelord/lady and the big circular base for the prime. More updates will follow soon
  18. So in order to avoid me spamming the malign portents tale of ?? With all my project photos I have instead decided to make a topic to share my painstaking tribal themed daughters of khaine conversions with you all! These are trying to be designed with both being a fun army project and also a first forray into AoS28 with some of them, trying to capture character and a bit of a dark edge in the girls (painting is gonna make all the difference I think) Anyway without further ado here are the girls so far!!
  19. Once again we join for the third ever Kitbash competition. This months theme is "Battleline" So this month contestants are to create either a new battleline/elite unit for their faction of choice. You can post 1 model which would be the basic format for your new unit or you can make a whole unit with new leaders special weapons and whatever else. If you're after the completed projects thread its over here Here are the rules 1. The finished model is not to be painted but photographed as bare metal/plastic/whatever but if you have painted/primed it black and white photo's are okay 2. Its got to be to the 28mm scale of warhammer, no foot high beautifully sculpted monstrosities. 3. Greenstuff can be used anywhere from gap-filling all the way up to a full sculpt. 4. Each entrant can post Multiple entries without limit 5. 1 calendar month build time so anytime between today (1/05/2018) and a month from now (1/06/2018) 6. Have fun How to enter In the participation thread post something along the lines of "I (insert username here) undertake this month's challenge to build at least one new unit for (insert faction here)" In the participation thread feel free to post WIP pictures and swap ideas but once you have finished your mini/unit post in the completed projects thread stating that this is indeed one of your projects and a series of 5 photo's as shown below. (for multiple units stick them in a line in the one photo and then organise them dramatically for you final photo with individual photo's for special weapons/leaders) 1 Front view 2 Right view 3 Rear View 4 Left View 5 Dramatic angle (not necessarily this angle just an angle that you feel best shows off your mini) Once the challenge closes I will run a poll to decide and audience favourite as the grand champ and I'll declare a personal favourite as well.

    My First Army Beastclaw WiP

Greetings, this thread is where I'll update my progress building and painting my very first army: Beastclaw Raiders! I just finished priming all the models so everything is dark and boring atm, and I'll have pictures of all the units tomorrow - but first: my first attempt at conversion: the gutbuster ally Butcher with Cauldron! I hate how the official model aka Gross Stumpman and Bloodpot look (how can you drag that thing during a battle? preposterous!) so I'm making my own out of a scrap launcher and greenstuff and bits from my icewind assault box. It's also my first time working with green stuff, but I think the stew turned out alright with textures I pressed on: Yes I'm making two With the launcher's cart, wheels, support tusks and mournfang pulling it I think it looks properly mobile at least. The Butcher himself is a frankenstein ogor I made of all sorts of parts, a meathook plus the great looking chaintrap. Best of all it uses the same sized base as the butcher with cauldron model! More pictures of units to come, but for now here's some mournfang cavalry that are currently drying and look like I didn't thin my paints although I assure you I did - this is fur layer 4!
  21. So I've had a -lot- of fun today, building up myself an engineer and a volley gun for my freeguild!! Any fans of the monster hunter franchise will notice that gunther's long rifle is actually a gunlance! Complete with stabby bayonet and a scope for the range finding optics. I'm quite happy with this guy, he looks truly mad and ecstatic with his big guns! And next we have the volley gun! Known as Die Grosse Kanone (the big cannon in german) this is gunther's personal volley gun he built himself and as such is ramshackle and full of love (and gunpowder) The big gun will also get an eccentric crew built for it soon too so look forward to that! I might add some more components onto the gun too. Like a big crank on the back!

  23. After the roaring success that was last months thread (12 entries 8 of which weren't my own which was awesome ) We are on again for the second ever monthly kitbash/competition thread If you're looking for the participation thread its over here This Month's theme is Wizards! Using whatever materials you deem useful you are to create a single model that has the Wizard Keyword on its warscroll, is not a named character, and is on foot. Here are the rules 1. The finished model is not to be painted but photographed as bare metal/plastic/whatever but if you have painted/primed it black and white photo's are okay 2. Its got to be playable, that is identifiable as the unit it would be played as, not necessarily warscroll perfect as the rule of cool applies and to the 28mm scale of age of sigmar. no foot high beautifully sculptured masterpieces please . 3. Greenstuff can be used anywhere from gap-filling all the way up to a full sculpt. 4. Each entrant can post Multiple entries without limit 5. 1 calendar month build time so anytime between today (23/03/2018) and a month from now (23/04/2018) 6. Have fun How to enter In the participation thread post something along the lines of "I (insert username here) undertake this month's challenge to build at least one wizard on foot" In the participation thread feel free to post WIP pictures and swap ideas but once you have finished your mini post in the completed projects thread stating that this is indeed one of your projects and a series of 5 photo's as shown below 1 Front view 2 Right view 3 Rear View 4 Left View 5 Dramatic angle (not necessarily this angle just an angle that you feel best shows off your mini) Once the challenge closes I will run a poll to decide and audience favourite as the grand champ and I'll declare a personal favourite as well. Bonus points for my choice will come from using using basic kits rather than hero units as a base
