As much as I love the big centrepiece models I tend to vote for something a little more ‘understated’ in these. wargames101 Posted December 22, 2021 Share Posted December 22, 2021 I wish they'd have a few categories – best centerpiece, best unit, best solo – and then award a best mini of the year based on whichever got the most votes. Size has historically dominated with big models winning 4/5 times, but I think that's because the bigger sculpts tend to be more notable even if they're less impressive in design terms. E.g. IMHO, the Necron psychomancer is a better 32mm sculpt than Belakor is a 120mm sculpt. I immediately buy it and run them as Slaves to Darkness and Lumineth and secretly get everyone in my area into AOS. Boxed Games: Some cool Necromunda model that I immediately fall in love with list 15 conversion possibilities and the proceed to forget that it ever existed. AoS: A short animated video previewing the next faction. It will be something painfully oblique like Grungni working on a clockwork construct saying, "Soon my mechanical masterpieces will be unleashed upon the realms". And we will all collectively shout "Brettonians"! Or Teclis with a shadow cast over him saying "I came to the aid of my twin and found only shadows here" followed by Malerion's wicked laugh... and we will shout "Silent People". We will get the IDK/Fyreslayer box previewed for New Years both armies will release before the previewed army. LOTR: Something awesome and I will want to play LOTR again... (Which is just as well, they have negative growth for AoS, but some of their Necromunda stuff is real nice).
