I guess there’s always the campaign books…. Though I doubt they will drop another hero or unit in there. But then again it would get people to buy another book, seems like a pretty scumming thing they could tap into lol- 1,101 replies

They really don’t. They can come up with something new for a new battletome, but they should update/ replace standard things the first go around. heck they should just update model lines that need it throughout the year (leaving rules as is) then when a book comes around update the scrolls and include NEW things- 1,101 replies

GW clearly has an issue with updating elite infantry. sbgl: graveguard Seraphon: temple guard CoS: greatswords (just gone) holding out for future releases is silly considering it’s a dart board for how they choose to release things tied to books rather than just updating. It could be 6 months or never (LRL vs IDK) That’s 3 strikes with three updated factions.. -

I would have liked to have seen: greatsword unit replacement. the command squad thing could have been swapped out and released at a later date. other than greatswords, I’m very surprised by no big cathedral/ popemobile and priest. Heck they removed that volkmar sprue build option from the hurricanum, they could have made a new version to add to the box. I like the Marshall on horseback a lot. I like how his horse is less armored, but it’s weird there isn’t consistency between him and the cavaliers. If anything they should match, but I would think the Marshall should have the fully barded horse and the cavaliers have the lighter option..- 1,101 replies

I am so far dissatisfied. mostly because of the racial rules. The army concept is built around working together:survive together. Great cannon: not like an ottoman bombard, at all ”not assassin” weird since the current assassin isnt replaced and doesn’t need to be, wasted slot medic and soul grabber: pick a lane, neither is really unique and isn’t anything the army could have used. 2 wasted slots wizard smith, oddly specific when the mage kit should have been updated would rather have seen general on horse to go with cavalry, updated generic multi wizard kit, updated greatsword kit hopefully there’s still room for a new GS kit… and a Votann size rules faq- 1,101 replies

I think there’s still hope to have a greatsword replacement unit. no new book should release with the hope that they add the rest next time around, that’s bs. though it seems very wasteful to have included “not assassin”, medic & soul grabber (either heal the wounded or harvest the souls, pick a direction) and then the very specific new wizard but not an updated multi wizard kit.. -

To be fair, armies were split up into multiple factions for the sake of it being a new game which prized itself for smaller skirmish games. Now ironically it’s more like whfb. it’s not soup, it’s just how armies used to be. further, the only army that is actually soup is CoS. All the armies leftovers from a past game, working in the pot together to bring amazing flavor, like a gumbo. -

Regardless of what models fall on either side of the line, it’s the bases between TOW and AOS that make it a huge difference. 40k and HH share the same bases and cross compatibility and using the same figures is easy.. imagine the rage HH had squares or triangles -

Well now I need to find proxy units for my Phoenix (elemental), archers, nomad prince (shouldn’t be hard), and Phoenix guard (fingers crossed new GS unit) -

Interesting rumor. Vanguard seem like freeguild graveguard. excited to see if the crusader shrine is real like the old pope mobile war alter. I was hoping for new pistoleer horses. happy to hear potentially not all wanderers are gone and that copters are still around. weird there is still no 1:4 Seraphon city. hopefully there’s still 1:4 SCE- 1,101 replies

Sounds neat if true, though I hope there’s a replacement for the unarmored pistoleer style horses -

I’m a bit shocked about the lack of generic vampires not being a faction. The Red Duke had returned from crusade with the bloodkiss and was causing havoc in Bret and the woods. -

The way the barding on the horses look, I wonder if they made the kit with an alt build for a pistoleer remake. im not sure why they wouldn’t design it as a bare horse with saddle and straps, then add the barding depending on build. But I’m sure it’s not like that.- 1,101 replies

I wonder if that cavaliers box will be a dual box for redone pistoleers. I’d love an option to have a less armored horse. if they designed it right, the barding could be placed right on top of a horse with belts and straps -

Warhammer - The Old World
Mandzak-Miniatures replied to Gareth 🍄's topic in Warhammer: The Old World
Just use new models if there are “aos” versions. It won’t work for everything, but people griping about not using the new goblin riders is silly. they could be capitalizing on nostalgia or the fact that the team’s notoriously work separately and didn’t have access to use the models. use what makes you happy. If you don’t like it either do not play, or better, make some sweet conversions. I believe this is a big enough deal that there will be some good new kits and upgrades, a test for reception - if positive then it’s full steam ahead. Lots of opportunities to make those total war armies. -

All this Bret stuff and the timeline are making me want to The Red Duke army. By this time the Duke of Aquitaine had finally fallen in Araby and given the blood kiss by Abhorash, returned home and began his onslaught. It would be cool if the Undead Armies at this time are his/ Abhorash’s. -

I had long hoped for seraphon to become more like slanni in 40k lore & the Blanche artwork, more recently like Steve Party’s take of seraphon. -

Really, the Seraphon should have weird celestial tech (in the way that the skaven have some wyrdstone stuff) instead of this primitive stuff. It really makes no sense. But I guess they want to keep it this way for old world reasons. also should have moved away from “spiked club” and went down the razor club look..
