  1. Oh my gosh, the Darkoath look absolutely amazing!!! I want them so bad, but no, I must stay strong for Hashut...neither my wallet nor the Great Grey Pile of Shame can take another project I start and don't finish lmao
  2. Surprised nobody went with the obvious for Skaven. As for fighting Sons of Behemat, playing something from Attack on Titan will guaranteed give you better rolls.
  3. I took the day off for Rebirth, definitely go and play it if you like jrpgs even remotely Also, I won't tolerate the lack of Lili love, she's been my main since Tekken 6 😤
  4. Thank you, my terrific teal-coloured tufted titmouse of a Tzeentchian tub-thumper (causing me to tinker with a thesaurus!), despite all the self-deprecation that would cause an average British comic to blush, I really appreciate you saying that! Trust me, I wouldn't put that past them. The day I hold Chorfs in my own hands, then I will believe lol
  5. Are we crazy? No, it is the Rumour thread that is wrong. Every time we write this, Games Workshop delays Chorfs for another day (Chorfs confirmed!)
  6. I have been cursed by a vile spell from the Realms - bound upon these forums, at the mere mention of Chorfs, I am forced to draw a new image in MS paint and post it here to lukewarm response. The balance of this forum would be in jeopardy otherwise - now, no matter the rumours, no faction's fans will get the upper hand in the rumour thread.
  7. All Chorf memery aside (OK, I'll admit, I really wanted to post my newest Chorf creation that I literally made a few minutes ago because I am in desperate need for validation in form of forum reactions), I am very happy for all the ratboys, ratgirls and non-binary giant rats because hey, you deserve this. For too long has Skaven players been the most oppressed minority in this hobby (they got old sculpts)
  8. And will we still try to claim that this totally confirms Chorfs? I think y'all know the answer to that already;
  9. It's a real shame that they confirmed Kislev years ago only to now reveal that they aren't coming - whether it's about scaling back production mid-development (and considering that Brets and TK are still missing models, something weird is definitely going on behind the scenes) or if the increasing rumours of internal rivalry between different teams are true, it's still disappointing. Feels like GW was taken by surprise by interest in TOW and are now caught with their proverbial pants down.
  10. So, we know what retro models GW is bringing out from the mothballs for Orcs and Goblins. What is on your wishlist regarding the other factions? Any old sculpts you'd like to see as MTO?
  11. Oooh, the nostalgia hits hard! There's just something in that style - and rank-and-flank in general - that gives my brain those sweet sweet serotonin.
  12. Definitely yes...eventually. In the relative short term, I'd personally put my money on a total Skaven refresh first. The rest, well, surely they'll be refreshed one day, but it could be years (or in worst case, decades, considering how old some Skaven sculpts currently are) until that.
  13. I only now realised that Rogue Idols won't be brought back and can't be included in an Orcs and Goblins army. Feels bad man 😔 YouCut_20240127_124927421.mp4
  14. I want to start by commending you for making a really good argument, it really was a lightbulb moment for me as I too tend to dislike notions that X are incapable of doing Y - when I GM'd RuneQuest I heavily modified the Broo, allowing players to play such as Good-aligned characters (fun fact: The Beastmen from Fantasy are the Broo with serial numbers filed off, GW made some miniatures for tabletop rpgs - including RuneQuest - before Warhammer) among other things. We're pretty much on the same page in how we perceive the Chaos Dwarfs/Duardin, in this instance I was too set in wanting GW to keep the bit of lore as a shorthand for the self-destructive nature of Chorfs' hypercapitalism. But I wouldn't want it to exist in the expense of narrative freedom.
  15. I personally belong to the Turnastone school of thought, and the reason is twofold. Not only is it a great bit of lore showing how unnatural their dabbling with magic is to a dwarf, but it also makes them look way more unhinged (or, well, cool, but with chaos in general 'being unhinged' is tied to your coolness level). Like, these guys are so corrupted with lust of power that they are essentially killing themselves in the process. There's both a certain dark hilarity to it, and a quite somber undercurrent too. Makes me think of that viral comic about destroying the planet but making shareholders richer. That reminds me...
  16. Well, technically you could paint any armour green-tinged and at a glance, those look like rattling guns... 😜 I'm being sassy of course, really hope it's a tease for something new for Skaven, knowing how happy it'll make @Skreech Verminking
  17. Gorgeous army! Really happy to see Legacy (or as some TOW communities hsce started calling them, Renegade) factions get some love and get action in TOW!!!
  18. If your friend can wait, we should eventually see a release of Goblin Wolf Rider mob. Otherwise, sadly it's either Snarlfang or some Night Goblin sculpts from Gloomspite Gitz.
  19. At least lorewise, from what we know, they retain their 'industrialism gone too far' aspect. I know Nurgle already is the canonical foil to Sylvaneth, but I almost want Chaos Duardin to take that spot. Preservation of nature vs the total exploitation of nature, the proverbial Saruman tearing down Fangorn forest to get more fuel for the furnaces.
  20. I don't think we'll see 1:1 any old units return, rather seeing a remixed version of them. And honestly, no matter the unit composition (although I hope they include a demon-possessed train as a centerpiece, for those trolley problems we all face) I'll be OK with it However, if they lack big hats, I'll riot.
  21. In that case I'll start to manifest DoW, and if it'll work I'll change my name to Public Universal Dog of War. Own a crossbow for home defense, as that's what the Senate intended. Four ratmen break into my mansion. "What the Borgio?!", as I grab my bottla of wine and Mama's crossbow. Blow an fist-sized bolt in the first rat, he's dead on the spot. Draw my black-powder pistol but miss because I haven't had my fiesta, and nail Gossippa Lotta next door. I have to resort to Leonardo's Magnificent Steama di Tanka mounted atop the stairs. "Ey, stupido!", the cannon obliterates two ratmen in the blast, the sound and squeaks alert the mercenaries. Grab a pike and charge the last terrified chap. He bleeds out waiting for the Paymaster to arrive (I worked overtime), because getting impaled on a pike is impossible to stitch up. Just as the Senate intended.
  22. I've yet to receive my rulebooks (sold out at my local flgs) but I've heard there's a lore section for Southern Realms - considering there's one for Kislev and Cathay, and they were mentioned getting models years ago, eventually, does that mean Dogs of War have a chance?
  23. That's a real deep cut, I had to pull out W̶a̶r̶h̶a̶m̶m̶e̶r̶ ̶w̶i̶k̶i̶a̶ my Khazalid dictionary for that one +1 for the joke, wish I could laugh react twice
  24. If we'll ever get Grungni's Duardin, it'll be like the Lumineth were for High Elves - making sense why Dispossessed/old Dawi kits are in TOW (ie, they'll get phased out from AoS). I'm personally fine with that, keep AoS weird and wild. I also foresee Chorfs being wildly different than we remember them, but I personally hope they'll still retain the big hats! I could never live knowing Lumineth would have mightier hats than my beloved Chorfs 😭
