  1. True, it's the burden we carry. 😂 But I love almost every single army in Age of Sigmar, and I do think that especially Idoneth and Fyreslayers were done dirty.
  2. I think they just wanted to build up a second Order alliance that was associated with light, justice etc next to the Stormcast Eternals to drive a part of the narrative. And High Elves were always a fan favourite in ye olden days so there was clearly money to be made. And I for one am thankful for it gave us amazing and imaginative miniatures like the Light of Eltharion, the Spirit of the Mountain and the Archmage himself. And you do realize that, in your third paragraph, you state some rather petty grievances, right after opening with 'Pettiness aside'?
  3. I wish I could spam this comment with all the Thanks Emojis the glorious armies Hysh could muster.
  4. @KingBrodd Looks like I was quite right when a few months back I hastily translated a line by @Whitefang into a King Brodd model comfirmation. Really happy for you, and I sincerely hope you're satisfied with what GW came up with for that character. Your positivity is such a vital part of these forums. The Votann Grymnir is just 100% AOS design style. All in all I'll stay away from Votann for the time being. I do like a lot of the models quite a lot, but am not a fan of the vehicles' moon buggy look. Khorne Berserkers are just a cool unit, albeit a little on the safe and unimaginative side, as usual for Khorne. Still looking forward to seeing more of World Eaters. Not my favourite legion but my favourite legion name. The new Lumineth tome will get a different cover. Looks like GW listened when people complained about recycling tome covers. Though I don't really like the new one. Chosen look good. Should appeal to everyone who ever fell in love with WHFB Chaos and is generally a fan of 90s metal album cover aesthetics.
  5. But Chaos isn't pantheism since pantheistic beliefs don't have any kind of personified deities. And the Chaos gods do have personality in spades. Chaos Undivided could be classified as pantheism but the big four don't fit that bill.
  6. Exactly... I was so hyped when Kruleboyz were first revealed. And then this excitement dwindled more and more when it became clear that they would be souped with Ironjawz (which also made clear that Ironjawz wouldn't be getting anything new), that there would only be three subfactions... and the final rules in the tome kind of killed Orruks for me. Still think that Kruleboyz have amazing sculpts though.
  7. Makes more sense now. Thanks for explaining @Plinketts Mawtribes & @Fellman.
  8. But apart from Wrath & Rapture and Fury of the Deep they usually don't pit two armies from the same Grand Alliance against each other. And in these two instances it made sense because Fyre vs Watyr (d'uh) and Khorne and Slaanesh are typically mentioned as counterparts as well. With Ogors vs Gloomspite there doesn't seem too much of obvious conflict. Ogors aren't really interested in subterranean spaces and Gitz are far too scrawny and small to serve as meals. I guess Gitz could probably attack anyone because Bad Moon and being on shrooms and stuff. We'll see, but I personally don't see it happening.
  9. Um, isn't it already pretty comfirmed that the new Cities of Sigmar will be more human-centred and probably focus on the Dawnbringer Crusades? It's not called Order of Azyr but they should turn out basically as you've described them.
  10. Hm. Looks to me like the typical non- commital answer the Warhammer Community account gives on Instagram :We'll let you know as soon as something comes up'
  11. That pendant OBVIOUSLY points to MALERION AELVES!!!!!! Confirmed!!!! Should that not be the case it just HAS TO BE SILENT PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! And if I'm still wrong there's strong implications that the not-bull shape is a hint at CHAOS DUARDIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!1!!! As Spiderfang and Fimir were already mentioned I'd say we should have all the TGA staples covered here.
  12. GW must feel the soring prices for transportation and energy as well, and it will get worse. Though I have to agree that 15£ on top is quite steep. The hobby will never go mainstream. It's still far more nerdy, far more pricey and far more time-consuming compared to something like casual video gaming. And people will be quite hard pressed to maintain other 'hobbies' like eating, driving to work, dwelling under a functional roof or not freezing to death in winter.
  13. I'm truly sorry to hear that you're having a rough time. If you need some kind words or just want to vent a little, please feel free to just drop me a DM or something. Life can be rough, especially in this day and age, and we all need a little support once in a while 😊 #PUDAnon 'till I die! And I love the Hyshian orb! Never got a personalized meme before.
  14. And, just like Chaos Duardin, while your existence might be bare-bone snd crappy, at least in TGA you are a truly revered legend!
  15. Khorne is cool and all but I'd also agree that his stuff feels less imaginative and rather limited compared to the other three. Khornate aesthetic feels familiar because it is. Physical attributes in his followers, mortals as well as daemons, boil down to bat wings, hooves and horns. Standard attributes of western devil/demon depictions, which most of us here will be rather familiar. Plus it's been done in other popular popcultural properties as well like the Diablo franchise. Weapons, armour and ornaments are just axes, skulls and chains and archaic-looking breast plates. Basically a Manowar album cover, and alltogether not too far from standard Chaos Space Marine or Slaves to Darkness, just in red instead of black. Tzeentch has Egypt, bird attributes and more weird design choices. Nurgle brings tge most disgusting and abhorrent mutations, plus insects and death-related imagery. Slasnesh adds gender-fluidity and a fair bit drukhari/cenobite SM vibe. All of them differ quite substantually from Chaos Undivided, far more than Khorne ever did. PS: I'm back for now. Got into 40K recently (Iron Warriors, in case anybody cares ) plus some teaching practice and lots of papers to write so I wasn't active around here. Cheers!
  16. I think the curved sword could be Emperor's Children-related. Also to those clamoring for Dark (A)Elves: They're already here. Join the rites of murder and worship at the altar of Morathi-Khaine.
  17. Just all gather behind my shining banner of Aelvendom, TGA, and you shall never be disappointed!
  18. But Idoneth have 6 subfactions to choose from while each Orruk faction just has three (or none at all, in case of Big Wwagh). And Idoneth have a bigger selection of stuff than each Orruk faction. While I agree that 4 spells are quite few it's very hard to compare both tomes since one is a soup tome.
  19. I'm not sure that I'd agree here. Ironjawz for example are competetively viable but have lost some stuff that was present in their previous solo battletome. Daughters of Khaine just basically stayed the same in a lot of ways, just that it's now a little harder to unlock Melusai as battle line. And Fyreslayers can field more overpriced Magmadroths now (in one lodge) but also got worse across the bank (at least so I have heard). Let's say: some have new and exciting ways to play.
  20. Would be pretty Meta if Warhammer Skulls was a game where you'd just roll a skull into a pile of other skulls and see how much mayhem you can cause. They could have different rules for human skulls, Dwarf skulls, spikey Chaos skulls, very fast skulls painted in red, incorporeal ghostly skulls, bigger giant skulls etc.
  21. Couldn't agree more and would give more than one like if possible. Thorough analysis.
  22. Yeah, I wasn't trying to link the lack Bonesplitterz' popularity to bad performances necessarily, although they appear to be worse than Ironjawz. I completely agree that it's mostly the ancient models holding them back. Kruleboyz are, in my opinion, being hindered by the souping. They could have been a really amazing link between the tricksy weirdness of Gloomspite Gitz and the raw destructive fury of Orruks had they been allowed to be their own faction with their own battletome. There's so much potential for new stuff with Kruleboyz that it's ultimately a little heartbreaking. One of the reasons I ultimately ended up selling mine although I really enjoyed lore and aesthetics. It's just not quite enough. Apart from heroes I guess.
  23. I think there's also a point to be made about the validity of the Orruk Warclans tome. As I read it it contains a faction which is very creative and flavourful in Kruleboyz who are however being seriously limited by overly complicated rules and a lack of valid options (everyone plays just one of the three subfactions). Ironjawz are really strong but lost some of their previous options and rules. No one seems to play Bonesplitterz, and Big Waagh is a disappointing mess. So while Nighthaunt and Maggotkin seem to have been buffed or expanded upon by their new tomes (and Sylvaneth look very promising as well so far), other factions like Fyreslayers, Orruk Warclans and appearantly Skaven have been weakened or limited. So What do Idoneth players think? I don't gear much about them since a glorious crustacean future never came to path. Are they better or more fun now, or just slightly different?
  24. I think that's a good change. Between Bloodwrack Medusa, Zainthar Kai and the Ironscale, unlocking Melusai was a little bit too easy. And of three, the Medusa kinda has the least to do with her non-magical kin. So it's the Ironscale for the other temples.
  25. Somewhat controversial opinion and it also took me a little bit of time to get to it but I absolutely love Archmage Teclis and Celennar, Spirit of Hysh. In contrast to center pieces like Archaon or Alarielle where the god-tier character just sits/stands on top of the monster mount Teclis and Celennar really make the impression of a team. And it's also pretty cool how the floating cape builds the connection so Teclis appears to be levitating. Also chad T-pose. Chadlis. Also amazingly detailed base. Another master piece is of course The Light of Eltharion. They really nailed the empty armor in such a creative way that is also pretty fun to build and comes with a cool ruin base. But other factions have great kits as well of course! Just a few of my favourites: - Katakros - Black Coach - Drycha Hamadreth - Alarielle - Morathi-Khaine and the Shadow Queen - that big Kharadron ship zeppelin thing - Megaboss on Mawkrusha
