Someone just dropped this in the facebook slaanesh group, it's pretty interesting imo. (It's from the September white dwarf, can't believe I missed this.) You know when people said that the Unmade are going to be slaanesh? Seems the white dwarf is hinting that its most likely the splintered fang that will be the place where Slaanesh leaps off from.

They definitely share a few cues with other Slaaneshi stuff. The Unmade fit  other aspects of Slaanesh as well though, so both could lean in that direction. As long as people stop claiming the Cypher Lords are Slaaneshi in any shape or form, it's fine. It's hard to find something more tzeentchian outside of Kairic Acolytes and especially the leader with the third arm just screams ol' T. xD

Ideally Slaanesh would get a mortal kit as well. Would've been cool to see every God get their own spin on Chaos Warriors but hell, if we get vanilla ones, we could build lovely God-specific stuff too. I mean mix SCE with similar sized stuff like Blood Warriors and slap the Cyper Lords helmets on and you got a pretty nice Tzeentchian warrior IMO.

I guess that the only way to create your own named characters and ignore the time factor  is to make them inmortal somehow (or using a race that already is)

In fact, I highly doubt that we will see any mortal independent character in AOS in the future

Nah that's a weak argument. GW is perfectly fine with creating mortal characters people can use to play scenarios that happened in the past. Or simply ignore age related mortality like they currently do in 40k after the 200 years skip.

We come to it once more. I lay my head down to sleep and hope to wake to a Cities of Sigmar pre order preview.

Surely it will be this week? (Feel free to make Airplane! References)

Is there a day each week where we can expect a AOS reveal for something like Cities / Bonereapers news ? Or is it at the start of each week for that stuff?

Pre-order announcements usually go up on Sundays. Then Monday begins the previews for said items.

"Coming soon" and "Coming next week" posts are usually on Sunday judging by looking at the community posts of late, the Beastgrave stuff seems to have finished with the last post being the "Pre-Order today!" so hopefully we'll see some new stuff this week.

Typically the Sunday preview tends to appear at around 5 to 6 pm GTM. So that's a good few hours from now.

IT'S HERE

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/09/22/coming-soon-middle-earth-mortal-realms-and-more/

Cities of Sigmar

When rampaging Orruks are at your gates, sometimes all that stands between civilisation and anarchy is a very fancy hat…

At long last, the cities you first explored in the Realmgate Wars, then later defended during the Seeds of Hope campaign and battled for in Firestorm, have a battletome of their own! Battletome: Cities of Sigmar is your guide to the seven greatest metropolises in the Mortal Realms,* forging several previously disparate factions into one cohesive whole that still manages to capture each city’s distinct thematic flavour.

AoSOpenDay-Jul20-CitiesOfSigmar6kbkth-1.

Spoiler

A Living City army, for instance, could consist of battalions of hardy Dispossessed Ironbreakers ambushing from the flanks while a column of Shadowblades Dark Riders surge across the centre field, while a Hammerhal force could include bold, charging Demigryph Knights backed up by batteries of Ironweld Arsenal artillery. This book offers almost unparalleled choice to army builders, with loads of warscrolls, allegiance abilities, warscroll battalions and more!

GwPreOrder-Sept22-CitiesArt3brd-1.jpg

Battletome: Cities of Sigmar isn’t just about the rules – it’s also your chance to discover the cities of the Mortal Realms in incredible detail through reams of new lore. From the spires of Tempest’s Eye to the libraries of the Collegiate Arcane, you’ll have the chance to see just what “ordinary” life in the Mortal Realms is like. With no fewer than seven short stories from acclaimed Black Library wordsmith Josh Reynolds, you can get more insights into the Cities of Sigmar than ever before.

GwPreOrder-Sept22-CitiesArt4mgtr-1.jpg

With so much choice available, the only question is – where do you start your Cities of Sigmar army? Well, there’s good news – it’s about to get even easier with two new Start Collecting! sets. Start Collecting! Anvilgard gives you a selection of Scourge Privateers with which to raid the Mortal Realms, while Start Collecting! Greywater Fastness gives you a doughty company of duardin capable of shredding enemies at any range. Bear in mind that these sets can be used to start any Cities of Sigmar army, not just the ones they’re named after, making them an ideal place to begin.

GwPreOrder-Sept22-Startcollectingboxes8e

With such a vast array of units available for your Cities of Sigmar forces, you’ll want to grab some Warscroll Cards too. That way you can have the rules you need easily to hand, without all that rummaging mid-game.

GwPreOrder-Sept22-CitiesCard8dfgb.jpg

Orruk Warclans?

Enuff cities. Enuff moustaches. Enuff hats. You’re a hard-bitten worshipper of Gorkamorka, and all you know about civilisation is that it’s very hard to spell. Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered too.

AoSOpenDay-Jul20-OrrukWarclansBattletome

Battletome: Orruk Warclans takes the Bonesplitterz and Ironjawz and SMASHES them together into one awesome army – or, if you like, three awesome armies. Inside, you’ll find rules for your Ironjawz and Bonesplitterz, including powerful updated allegiance abilities for both AND a third set of allegiance abilities for the Big Waaagh! These truly terrifying hordes are formed when orruks stop fightin’ over whether armour or warpaint is better and start breaking everything else…

GwPreOrder-Sept22-OrrukArmy3ngtd-1.jpg

As if countless warscroll battalions, sub-factions, spells, artefacts and command traits weren’t enough, this book is as comprehensive a collection of Orruk lore as there ever was. Inside, you’ll discover the long (and often hilarious) history of greenskins in the Mortal Realms, right up to their role in the ongoing Soul Wars

GwPreOrder-Sept22-OrrukArt3tjy-1.jpg

To minimise the time you spend flicking through your battletome mid-game (and thus maximise the time you spend smashin’ stuff), we’d recommend you grab some Orruk Warclans Warscroll Cards.

The Warhammer Age of Sigmar Gaming Book

Matched play is a cracking way to experience Warhammer Age of Sigmar, whether you’re fighting a balanced bout with a friend at home or taking part in the thriving tournament scene. We know that sometimes it can be a bit of a hassle flicking through multiple books looking for your favourite battleplan, an artefact of the Realms or just a key rule, which is why we’re releasing the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Gaming Book – a curated rules collection containing the most popular supplementary content for matched play.

GwPreOrder-Sept22-Gaming8vesc.jpg

Combining the Core Rules, Pitched Battle rules, Realm of Battle rules (including Artefacts and Spells of the Realms), the Grand Alliance allegiance abilities and 31 Pitched Battle battleplans, it’s the perfect companion for your next matched play game.

Wow that gaming book is the exact response to my main complaints in the community survey a while back.

These SCs look great, they‘re race-centered and contain some of the newer stuff. Really happy with what‘s shown, short stories by Josh Reynolds in the COS book should give us some much needed base perspective.

Yeah. It's like they heard how crazy it's been getting. Think it will have the malign and forbidden items? I mean, if you're gonna do that book, make it complete, right?

So it was true no new miniature, spell or faction terrain but seems they compensated with lots of lore in both books and two unexpected Start Collecting. Excited to see the changes to the warscrolls!!!

Also I want to note that the style of the artwork for the back of the Warscroll cards is a fanstic callback to the old Empire/Warhammer artwork from the Old World.

Not a single mention of terrain nor warscroll cards - though interestingly some VERY tall stormcast walls and a gate on show. They also mention Ironwald artillery which is interesting considering that currently there isn't any unless they mean the hellblaster and rocket (which are rather human)

They showed the new Free Guild general warscroll. He gained the ability to cause mortal wounds on hit-rolls of 6. I couldnt make out if his command ability changed.

Does the comment at the end about this going up for preorder only in two weeks applies to everything or just the middle-earth stuff?

Maybe it's just a mistake?
