There's nothing better than reading and seeing people's live reactions to announcements and lathering myself in hype, but I really can't stand the slow pacing between reveals. It ends up feeling like a drip feed for me and just takes away some of the excitement. I've been enjoying more now just waiting until its over and then just diving right into the website and being overloaded with everything in one go. Embrace the hype.
amysrevenge
The only way I've enjoyed the preview streams live is doing it in discord sharing with clubmates.
CommissarRotke
Article about story submissions is up, but now they want a 100 word summary... for a 500 word short story? The google doc says "no more than 100 words" but still, pretty weird to double this. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/10/27/write-up-a-storm-in-the-mortal-realms-black-library-submissions-are-open-now/
Deepkin
It was the same last year. They want a 500 word sample of the actual story to evaluate your prose, and a 100 word elevator pitch of the plot to evaluate that. If they like that, then they ask for a 250 word summary of the entire story and a 1000 word sample of more writing. That's as far as I got. Presumably if they like that, then you send them the whole story and go from there. It's a lot of steps for what amounts to a call for submissions to an anthology, but if it works for them, I suppose

Deepkin
That is strange. I am willing to bet a typo. Go by what the submission form itself says, I would wager. Or email the submissions team at BL. They were very kind in all my interactions with them. Edited October 27, 2021 by Deepkin

So between reveals we just start talking about what they showed and we end up doing some catchup since our schedules havent matched so well recently

I like to have it on because sometimes they give pieces of information that are not listed on the reveals on Warcom later. So what I typically do is have something else keeping me occupied I will glance over at 40k/Middlearth/Specialist game reveals and watch anything specifically AoS related. Chikout
Almost certainly not Skaven or Beasts then. It probably is nurgle, my least favourite chaos faction. Oh well at least the warcry stuff looks cool.

Oh yes, like the cities of sigmar having a warband list for Warcry in the white dwarf before the Order Alliance Book was released. Nowadays, I don't take into account what's inside the White Dwarf as anything for the future. I maintain my bet is on Slaves to Darkness ! I agree I don't expect a new book for S2D but they could get the rumoured new chosen kits and/or the updated Chaos Warriors / Knights available in separate kits outside the SC box. I’ve got a five to six hour drive followed by a children’s party, so I’m watching on catch up on the night (most likely with some beer). Im hoping to see something Chaos Dwarf related that is for AOS rather than Warcry or Underworlds but if I’m honest, I think I’ll enjoy everything. Really hoping for a reveal of the Horus Heresy set (got some vouchers I’ve been saving for it). Honestly no idea what will be shown off due to all the disruption this year so I’ll be pleased with seeing lots of cool stuff.

Maybe if this was strictly an AoS event you might be able to narrow it down to Slave to Darkness, Nurgle Maggotkin, Korn Bloodbound, or even Chaos Dwarves. However, since there are 6 systems listed all with Chaos representation, this teaser is kind of meaningless.

I have wrestling practice at 9am Central time, So I'll probably read half of it on my way to college. If we see something regarding Chaos Dwarfs, I hope that they mention that the models will be useable in The Old World, or at the very lease the design team from CA was somewhat involved. I also want/hope that the Furnace Kings (I'll keep using that faction name until proven otherwise), can take marks from other chaos gods as a kind of "contract" system, while still keeping Hashut's blessing. What do you guys think? @Neverchosen, @Public Universal Duardin? In regards to the Heresy, I would love to see White Scars and Death Guard get some new models, for the Scars I'd like to see Jaghatai released in Glorious Resin, and maybe a return of the Mark II Scars kit. On the DG side, I'd love to see the Plague marines they showed off on the Warhawk novel cover.
