Ya win some ya lose some!! Good to see a different Vampire Lord regardless of his original race.

Oh I cannot wait to see their centrepiece. I do really enjoy these larger than life characters GW has been pushing out.

Losing metal does mean I think we get less special characters or niche models than we might otherwise do. (As costs a lot less to make these so they don’t need to sell as much)

Yes, I think the same, the only place where this is happening now is the specialist games and middle earth, where there are characterful sculpts like the halfling cook for necromunda. I'd love to see more of these types of models for the main games, alternate sculpts of leaders or new characters not expected to sell by the thousands so no need of an expensive plastic mold created.

@Doko totally agree with metal being the worst. For two reasons for me. The modt difficult material to convert and kitbash, but even looking at a painted miniature froma. Sharp angle chips some paint. When I painted Archaon many moons ago His sword nearly became real metal non metal metal.

I’m really chuffed Radukar is not an Ogor, makes me like the design moreknowing he’s just a huge once- Human Vampire. There’s been some really conversions  highelf vampires and other races I’ve seen previously. And opens lots of possibilities, but i think the cons would out weigh the pros in that it would dilute what a Vampire is in Warhammer - a human who’s soul has become so corrupted by the magic of death that it has created a Monster. I just don’t think that can be replicated with other races. But if did, Halfling Vampire raising 7ndead pumpkins right?

Anyone else thinking that out of the bosses in the Cursed City, Radukar doesn't really look that BBEG? He's just not that imposing in my eyes.

And I think its the hat that does this to me.

he probably the initial bad guy, the last expansion may be the  true bad guy of the story

Yeah. He doesn't feel like an imposing villain. It's probably because of his not-so-sophisticated looks. He doens't look regal and his corsac attire looks odd rather than imposing. But at the same time I like the brutish style. He isn't the millionth lithe-and-thin Vampire but looks more like a bruiser. He somewhat reminds me of the BBEG from Disney's "Mulan" (the cartoon movie, not the new abomination they released). I think a headswap with a bare-headed White Scar from 40K would be dope. Maybe someone with some photo editing skills could swap his head for something more fitting?

alright, let's begin the speculation, my money is on that Morkan guy coming back to life to hunt down our "friendly" vampire cossack/pirate for robbing his tomb.

Plot twist, he joins the Ubersreik Five (Ulfenkarn Eight?) and helps them fight the REAL evil after they beat him so hard he becomes their friend.

I'd pay to see that animated as a decent cartoon.

I liked in the end times the nod to history when Krell revealed that he had never been a thrall for the ead and always had remained in death a Servant of chaos as he had been in life.

I don’t remember that part, on the contrary even. He has always been a true follower of Nagash (after his death)

I was feeling the same way. He's a cool mini and a cool character that fits into a cool narrative about Ulfenkarn but as an imposing 'final boss'... eh. I honestly thought the Vargskyr was meant to his final form or something, like you take Radukar down and then he howls and goes full beast mode on you.

The overall story is nice and I like how it's, shall we say, nothing earth shaking or super special. Ulfenkarn could be any city in Shyish willing to make a desperate deal with the devil, Radukar could be any particularly violent vampire warlord, the heroes aren't famous characters whose existence is critical to the fate of the mortal realms. It's not even that it's low fantasy as such exactly but the scale feels good. Not the end of the world but for however many people live in Ulfenkarn, you might stop their world from ending.

I miss lead models. Super easy to clean up and convert, solid heft in your hand and on the table ... just a joy.

Still, plastic has a lot of advantages. Some current models, such as Nagash, would not be possible in lead.

i still got a lead giant. Can kill someone with that lol

The new Wight king on horse has been revealed, the old wight king on horse would be the model most likely to go out of production.

With Cities, people also said repackaging, which it wasn't. GW made a better effort to hide that things were going out of production at that time though.

Part of that was gw said they’d announce any discontinued models before they’re discontinued so you’d still have a chance to pick them up. When gw announced the list, 90% were already ‘out of stock’

It's the keyword-driven rule spam they got going. This buff-focused gameplay really limits variety.

Easiest fix would be to throw most of the keywords away and make the actual warscrolls good instead of being good within a certain subfaction or after being buffed by various other models/heroes. That's simply limiting and hella bad game design.

This is what I like about Ogors (Gutbusters anyway), they’re mostly independent of each other and don’t have things like ‘+1 to hit near this hero’ etc

We never really got an answer but for whatever reason the company fell silent for around half a year or more; both to customers and stores. Even stores that were selling well could not get hold of any new physical stock. In the end the firm behind it basically waited 6 months of silence and then announced they were ending the physical product and focusing only on the digital platform. Upon which time the whole thing collapsed because the digital game wasn't groundbreaking and really only worked well to support the physical because that's the market that had been attracted to the game to start with.

this is also very disappointing, my partner and I both really enjoyed Champions :( the digital game is still fun, but I had hoped to pick up the physical versions of their DOK expansion

I stand corrected - it was Kemmler not Krell.

In the original Terror of the Lichmaster Kemmler was near death when he found Krell's barrow, and made a pact with chaos in order to have his life extended and their champion at his side.... Yup... Kemmler, not Krell.

Jacsen, the undead champion had a burning skull and a piercing scream!

Even before they went out of stock, I tried to put a General on horse and box of archers in my cart, and that didn't work. By the time the email went out, I think there were some loremasters and a few other characters available, the rest was gone.

Having no experience with Silver Tower or BSF, will the models from the Cursed City Boxed set be available separately in the future?

Some of the Silvertower models was sold seperately. The Ogroid Thaum..eh...whatitsface?! And the Gaunt Summoner.

when DoT where released some time later, Blue and Brimstone horrors was released too but none of the models from Silvertower. Same was true for Tzaangors.

the Grot Scotlings, the Skaven Assassin and the familiars was never released.
