I think it’s worth mentioning that as long as a preorder date falls within a certain month, then gw consider it ‘released’ in that month (see Orktober a few years ago)

Yea for them it is only important when they can start charging money for it, getting the actual product to the customer is almost a 0 factor...

I dont get why they are drip feeding the artickles for so so long for the stormcast and orruks. Like the Moth of Mork now got 2 articles basically for that model alone. These articles are normally also in the week before preorders, so it seems crazy to show of rules etc a month before release.

Preorders could still be on the 21st though, most likely not, but when dominion was on the 2nd week of preorders they still put up new stuff for Necromunda and Blood Bowl.

I know that this far from a counter to Teclis, but I do love that this vulture riding prophet can lay the hurt on the god of magic and might force make more use of the limited spells at a higher casting power.

I really hope that this is not just for balance, but because Lore.

A setting with gods fighting other gods is nice but a setting that mortals can threat gods seems exactly perfect for Warhammer.

My guess is because they need AoS content and so are putting out things like the rule preview to tide people over, otherwise they have people complaining about a lack of AoS articles.

As for the other releases, aren't Necromunda and BB releases under Specialist Games, so could expllain why you still get those even on a main 2 week pre-order? For example there are some small 30k releases we are still waiting on so they may squeeze that in on the 21st.

But is Kill Team not also defined as a specialist game? It i listed under boxed games on the GW site at least and does not have its own main menu like AoS, 40k and Middle Earth does. Perhaps I am wrong though and they seem count this as 40k due to fishing for all the poor death korps fans.

I could be wrong, but I think Killteam, like Underworlds, Warcry are done by the main studio, whereas BB, Necromunda along with Adeptus Titanicus and Aeronautica Imperialis are done by the FW specialist studio?

Sorry if this is too far off topic, but are these different Space Marine models actually significant or could you paint this one in blue and run him as an ultramarine or in white and run him as a Whitescar? Other than some iconography and some associated lore this looks indistinguishable from any and all other space marines.

This is meant to be a functional question, as I have just started Stormcast with Dominion and I expect more and more similar releases in AOS over the years. I already cannot tell the difference between many of the combat oriented heroes in SCE and I expect this to only become more pronounced throughout the years. But I am just going to choose the models I like best for the role that I need most.

Yep. Kill Team, Underwords and Warcry have their own team, but it’s part of the main studio, not Forge World like the specialist games are.

The Emperors Champion is a Black Templars specific character unit.

But so far seems like a really cool unit and I hope that its presence on the battlefield matches my favourite model so far from AOS 3.0... which is saying a lot 'cause I chose the Thunderstrike side from Dominion.

they didn't mention how many unbinds he had or if he had any casting bonus which is slightly worrying and seems like obvious things to include alongside how many spells he can cast. Considering how much design space is being wasted on Mork sez no, I find that pretty suspicious...

I'm happy for those who like it, but whenever a new Space Marine comes out I really struggle to tell them apart. If you showed me that and said it came out in 2019, I'd totally believe you because it looks very similar to the other sword Space Marines.

I appreciate the direction they've gone with AoS and how even in the more 'samey' factions, the vast majority of units look very unique (besides some older Stormcast perhaps).

Yeah, the wake the dead lieutenant had very similar pose and was sometime used to do this model.

BT, but easy to convert, the only sculpted iconography is on the shoulder pads. Swap them and make it a lieutenant for any chapter.

It's one of the big reasons why I can't get into 40k: I just don't see the draw of Space Marines, including Chaos Space Marines. And that just seems to be the majority of releases.

space marines are a simple concept, easy to paint and kitbashing is very easy so they make a great canvas.

Should have said that I don't feel the draw, instead of I don't see it :)

I get why Space Marines can be appealing to others, even if I am not interested in them at all. I can appreciate them from a hobby/painting perspective as well.

They will always look like silly off brand chibi Star Wars Imperial Stormtroopers to me.

If I did 40k I am obviously going to lean towards Chaos but I feel pretty much the same way about Chaos Space Marines. This is why I always hold out hope for Dark Mechanicum to get support.

Well, I guess that's it then. Prepare for 2 weeks of WH Community articles spoiling tiny rules snippets for models we've already seen until we'll be able to preorder on the 30th or something.

No hobgrotz on wolves. No hobgrot hero. No Orruks on lesser gnashteeth. No spellcasters other than Gobsprakk and the Swampcallah. No more nothing.

Hopefully the complete tome will be good because even though I love basically all of the Kruleboyz these past weeks of meagre previews have left me slightly disappointed.

I know this is related to Kill-Team, but it looks like going forward GW are going to try and guarantee pre-order boxsets. The stipulation is they may take a few months to land if the initial wave sells out.

"Going forwards, we’re looking at ways we can make sure you don’t miss out on other awesome box sets too."
