The Rumour Thread

I mean if the alternative was retiring the line completely I think this is still my preferred option. But for some people not being top tier or getting regular releases is just as bad as being squatted.

I wouldn’t say what they barely got was something that would deter the  for them being squatted later down the line thought, just like I don’t think things will be in shelf forever either. Just like firstborn marines I feel eventually they will be phased out just not anytime soon, there is some rumor is true that BS are getting gutted eventually.

so your alternative maybe true anyway

Yeah, it deserves to be said, whether Bonesplittas for example have a future or not, chucking them into the neglected corner of a soup tome (twice now) has done nothing to reassure most players about their chances of sticking around. If your army isn't getting anything it isn't getting anything, and getting 1/3rd of a book instead of a full book isn't really a big improvement in that regard.

That's not to say that I think all souped factions are doomed or anything, but I do think it's hard to spin as a positive development if you are a fan of a specific subfaction who is just getting thrown in with other more popular armies and not getting any new models or anything out of the deal. Even just from a rules perspective, it's often a step down in terms of support.

Earliest SCE preorder date will now be 6 full weeks since the battletome preorder. 10 weeks since the Dominion release date, when many of these models were previewed. Not a word from GW.

Yeah I'm not even going to bother buying them at this point. I don't know why they still think radio silence is the answer. I really love Bastian and the SDG but even they're not worth getting jerked around for 6 weeks with absolutely ZERO communication.

Some marine and necron stuff didn't come out for 6+ months after they were revealed.

They've said the dragons are coming this year.

Honestly I impressed they've managed to keep a weekly release schedule up with everything going on in the UK right now, especially on a global scale

So instead, I do nothing.  If I knew BoC was coming in 3 months, i'd build up other elements.  If I knew they were coming in 6 or more, i'd make my centerpieces because that's plenty of time.

Not sure why everyone feels the need to point this out all the time. That was ****** for marine players and it’s ****** for us too.

Buying or not buying is obviously a personal choice and if the release has lost interest for you that's totally reasonable. However, stuff is not going well in the UK... At all. It's much worse than people understand. I'm hearing things like 6 months to a year for shipping containers and up to 2 years to straighten out the industry.

Given how much of GW's releases come from the UK (almost all of The EU) even if they have SCE product in NA for NA demand they aren't going to do a partial release. I feel your pain as I'm in the market for Brutes.

It is what it is. We're living in strange, unprecedented times. GW would rather have their products out on the shelves and in your hands as much as you want the new stuff, and it will happen.

Yes it sucks stuff we've seen isn't released yet but it's hardly the end of the world.

As for the lack of communication, I can hardly blame them, no matter what they say, some people won't be happy, the conspiracy theories will fly and YouTube creators will use it to stoke the fires.

I see it as perfect time to work through some of the backlog and if you think about it, your bank balance looks healthy!

I guess the thing is that it feel like SCE/AoS specifically been delayed but the other game system seems to be uneffected by any major delays so far (maybe a week or two). They are going ahead with the BT boxset and Harrowdeep. If it a more widespread delay due to global problem I would assume everything would be affected. Which why the theory of internal problem seems more likely

Sounds reasonable and pretty cool! Though I personally would assume that GW will dial down on the bull theme since that is also present in Beasts of Chaos (should they remain) and Lumineth. Maybe more machinery and golem stuff?!

Yeah it was more of a dream release but I hope that Chaos Duardin open the door to more Demon engines, I actually hope the various bull units are reimagined as mechanical demonic entities. I also am hoping that the Spiders in the Varanspire are AOS equivalents of Venomcrawlers.

Controversial take I am sure, but this happened with Chaos Dwarfs from Forgeworld and it would likely happen with Tomb Kings and Bretonnians as well. The sales just weren't there, and I heard it a thousand times from GW reps.

People had been screaming for Chaos Dwarfs forever, but then when Forgeworld had finally released them, and the Tamurkhan book, people in the Chaos Dwarf forum said the price point was prohibitive and were finding any way they could to convert Chaos Dwarfs from Battle for Skull Pass dwarfs, buy third party Mantic Chaos Dwarfs, etc etc.  despite the price point was entirely in line with the other armies out at the time. Then they were surprised/flipped out when forge world stopped developing the Chaos Dwarf range.

Despite how much you personally love a range does not change that money (and how you spend it with GW) talks. It's why Space Marines, Stormcast, and Aelves/elves get so much support from GW.

You’re forgetting one very very important point.

you could have had legion of azgorh at the same price as everything else but it wouldn’t have mattered as right up until the second to last game if thrones of 8th edition they were not recognised by gw themselves.

you couldn’t rock up to a throne of skulls before that with a legion army and be allowed to play.  Simple as.  Indis did what they liked but gw said no.

so it became an enthusiast army and its ardent supporters were the only ones that ended up supporting it just like brets. (Another one you don’t want to get me started on!)

you couldn’t order any fW to gw store and it wasn’t recognised in their own events. Unless you knew about forgeworld, nobody knew about fw.  Even now you can’t walk into a warhammer shop and access fw on the terminals.

As for TK and brets, brets were caught in an infinity loop.  They’d not had a book update in ten years- yes, ten years.  We were playing with a 5th ed book.  Who wanted to touch them? And so without an update they didn’t sell and managers put potential customers off as they were an old army with no new stuff.

what they did to brets was dog log all because nobody at the mothership had any vision of where to take them, after all, all it would have taken was a retcon as they did with all the other armies.- empire, new book and suddenly demigryphs were always there, so it could have been with brets and write them free of their pigeon  holed shackles.

Im 100% certain i played against a Legion list at a WHW event, it was what clued me in to how pretty the minis actually were (Websites dont always do things justice) and ive never done an AoS event, or any in the latter half of 8th either.

Forgeworld has always been a bit specialist but people definitely knew about it by the time they broke out of just doing Tank variants were releasing Warhammer minis, especially i suspect the folks playing at WHW itself, arguably top fans in general.

Some store managers were bit funny about it but i honestly think that was the exception rather than the rule, though my boss, later bosses boss at gw was not just into FW but actually had mins featured in some of their books so theres obviously a little bias there :D

I am guessing she won’t have a unhelmeted version? XD

I just think it’s a shame that a proud warrior of Sigmar in the public eye feels the need to resort to Snapchat filters. She’s beautiful in her own way… even if she does look like a reforged Jimmy Savile

Although even the tagged photo looks way better than the actual model:

I think this Xandire has to be one of the worst 'eavy Metal paintjobs in recent memory. They just didn't get her face right at all, to the point where I believe that the average player-painted model will probably look better than the GW official paint job.

There are just so many questionable decisions here, between the weird mouth, kinda dirty looking skin, wrong hair colour and inexplicable bit of metal in front of her face.

Maybe the profile picture is after her first reforging and the tagged picture after the 10th reforging

I think a Sisters of Battle head could work, size could be a bit of an issue though.

After the profile picture literally looks like a Sister of Battle head the style would fit.

So are we hoping for a new model Monday pic today? Maybe a teaser for Warcry or something from the next Underworlds war band for this season? I think those are the only things coming up before Christmas which are unknown at this stage [Templars are fully revealed as are the next Killteam models].

Maybe a surprise of some sort? [Hopefully someone short with a beard, armour and a big axe...]😇

It was in the rules pack that only GW armies were permitted and FW armies or lists were not.

The last days of 8th they opened up the rules pack to include Legion, and it was my friend who took the best legion with that army, and as it happens that army was mine.

I took my warriors of chaos up there and ran those, and had the whole weekend of people telling me that my army was illegal as it was running eight juggernauts (2 units of 3, and the lord and BSB )- then I told them that I wasn't running a wizard and they failed their confusion rolls in disbelief.

"but how do you unbind spells?"

"er... I don't."
