What would people like changing in the Winter FAQ? We haven't had quite as many tournaments this year, which might make judgements hard

Well, that's true (in part, you have tons of ournaments in TTS or BCP), but you don't need so much data when changes are pretty straightforward.

We all know the armies that are on top of meta and how oppressive are to play against (KO, Seraphon, Tzeentch, SC) and We know wich armies are on the bottom of the barrell.

Second thing is easy fixable and they seem to be working on that on BR or Celestial Tomes (well, sometimes getting a good success like Nurgle in WotE, Throggots or IDK, sometimes being terrible like S2D in BR), but to clean up the meta you need those balance changes.

I know I've given a pretty lengthy feedback for most of the armies i play, hopefully we see some of it. The cliffnotes version is: buff spiderfang (except wizards), buff tzeentch arcanites (tzaangors in particular need extra attention, kairics are probably perfect at 90), buff LoC (nerf changehost by the same amount), buff dankholds and buff gobbapalooza.

Spiderfang is getting a white dwarf so that may help them out enough, but i submitted it before we knew about it.

Kroak 420 points

Skinks 80 points

Black dragons 250

Battlemage 80

Kharadrons only can get generic endless spells from the relik and also nerfs in the 100% used alegiance

Tzenth nerfs to horrors, flamers and changehost

Lumineths nerf of 20 points to lancers and archers

I think everyone gonna agroo it is needed these changes

The rumour engine is bait, it looks like a rat and you think Skaven of course.

But let's be real, it's probably the base of some Space Marine Primaris

You joke, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was for Necromunda. Cawdor is the next on the chopping block for updates, and they are known for using rats and other vermin as pets. The Necromunda updates tend to add a specialist/leader, a special juve, and sometimes beasts. Especially since there is a matching bird with a key, it could be something like a "Cawdor Scrap Master" with trained birds and rats that he sends out to scavenge scraps and ammo.

If you do the first. You don’t need to do the second.

the first is the reason the second happens

But would be a hit typical of GW to overswing it like this 😅

That was the way my mind was going as well but that the crow has the same style of ruins as the weird and vaguely wolf-like feet pic complicates things.

The rat though could be a fake-out. As much as there is some connection between vampires and vermin, that might be intruding on the skaven design space so it could still be Cawdor and have no connection to the crow. A neat trick, two animals with keys but not actually from the same range.

There might be a chance where the skaven actually become the whole bad guys for the 3rd edition.

Well, the Great Horned Rat should be the most interested in keeping Slaanesh out of the board (as much as is possible, anyway) so they have a great motivation to take part in these new events.
If that leads to new Eshin miniatures (warcry warband?)  it would be the definitive proof that 2021 is reversing 2020's luck.

Looking back, the snake/lizard head rumour engine might also be holding a key in it’s mouth...

Yea, looking at it now it would really seems as a kind of metal, but on the other hand if that would be a ring from key, it's missing from the other side of the mouth/head...

I don't know why, but something about it just makes me think it's Middle Earth. Might not be, but there's something about the syle.

This raises an interesting question. Has there ever actually been a middle earth themed rumour engine? I honestly can't think of one at all? Most of the Warhammer systems seem to come up from time to time, but it feels like that one is more or less never included... then again it doesn't get that many models these days, and they are pretty distinct in style when they do arrive...

No, Middle Earth doesn't get rumor engines. Even Bloodbowl or Necromunda rumor engines are exceedingly rare.

Flipping through the last few years of rumor engines, they're almost all AoS, 40K, Underworlds, Warcry, or Warhammer Quest related.

So, got my hands on direchasm, the rulebook has a few pages of lore, the seraphon warband is predominantly a skink one with a saurus in it. And the orb is literal bomb that will cause the mountain to eat itself, again, references to the silent people who sleep in the amber, the necroquake messed with their sleeping cycle and they are now have awakened early due to it. They're insectoid in terms of appearance.

Do you think this is a new race for AOS as a whole or just underworlds?

In my opinion, I hope they are a new race, they're being referenced far too much to be just a one off thing in my opinion.

At least we will have a new Saurus sculpt!!

This definitely seems like they're teeing up the Silent People to be a new AOS Faction if not definitely an Underworlds Warband!! I really hope it's a whole new Faction as I'd love to have another Faction that's almost 'Alien' to AOS.

Awesome. Considering I won't probably buy the core set and you say you have it, could you please answer those questions for me:

1. How many members would you say the serphon warband has and what other skinks (i.e. what weapons they have etc.) are there?

2. What other warbands are there? I mean, the cards always shown as other warbands, at least partially

Checked the cards and couldn't find any reference to non announced wabands (if anyone has founs anything please correct me).

Also the lore talks about how when trapped in amber the silent ones reverted to a kind of "larvae state" and their sudden awakenkng means that they're not yet fully formed, so they hide.

As I understand it this could mean 2 things:

- at some point the silentones will form their own warband.

- the silentones stuff is just fluff to introduce weapons, armor and items, since when they went into sleep they carried all their belongings.
