    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

End Times Battlereport!

So I finally had a chance to do a little Battletome: End Times playtesting! For the game, we rocked up with regular all-round armies (this wasn't planned), and picked a battleplan slightly at random. It needed to fit two regular-ish armies. So for this game, we went with the Battle of the Blighted Isle (Khaine 4 IIRC)! It's a pretty big battle, fluff wise. Malekith is racing towards the Blighted Isle to sieze his fathers blade, whilst the defenders and Tyrion race to stop him. The defenders are

End Times Nagash Redux - or JontyGoesGaming plays with himself.

First things first - I love Age of Sigmar. I love its batshit crazy style and the evolution of new stories and new opportunities, as well as the new takes on the races of the world-that-was. Most of all, I absolutely love the rules, and the massive wealth of narrative scenarios. Since I started, about two-three months after AoS dropped, I've not played a single 'line 'em up and push it forward' pitched battle. Instead, we've had breakthroughs, battles fought over shifting magical ice, rescu

Time for an update, isn't it?

I finally have some "real" update here! Well, my browser actually deleted my previous message, and it was kind of long.. so I'll shorten it this time I finished my 10x2 Saurus Warriors, worth 200 points! The pictures below shows the last color applied on them. I was bored at the end, therefore I left the cloth-thing behind the shield just base green, no highlight. I don't actually know how to name it in English, neither I do in Italian to be honest.. Anyway, it was a long way to c

Halfling Steam Tank

One of the more recent additions to my Halfling Army was the STEAM TANK! However, not the GW one, but rather a scrap-build one from various bits and garbage in my possession. My reasoning was that first, it's a nice model but way too expensive; second, I would have to do a ton of conversion work anyway to fit the halfling theme. So here it is ladies and gents, the terrifying Steam Engine of the Moot!

This weeks output 17/09/16

So here's what I've painted over the last week, first up is my white dwarf slaughterpriest conversion using blightking parts and a little green stuff. Second is the first of two models that I'm not sure what they'll work as warscroll wise, so if you have ideas comment below. They're made from minotaurs with giant heads. Next are a unit of plaguebearers, I painted them last week but got the basing done this week. I just wanted to show how a basic unit of mine looks. The scheme

Ahhh! A Ghorgon! Ruuun!

Hey hey, The last of my Beastmen monsters! I've been steadily working on a Warherd army until the internet told me the Warherd is kind of bad, so now I don't know what the hell to do.  I'm trying to keep motivated to finish off the last two 3bull bullgor units, but its kind of hard. When I made the army I was like "zomg im gonna win so many games," and now I'm like "I want Beastclaw Raiders." I always pick the wrong team! Anyway, here he is! If you saw my cygor, I w

Free people halfling army

Here I'll be sharing my Empire/Bretonnia Age of Sigmar Halfling Army. I've actually started it when the 8th edition was still rolling but at the time it was a small 500 points force. Now I can field around 2500 points worth of half men, however sadly most of it is yet unpainted and needs some more love. Here is an Emire General to get things started! P.S. I would love to hear what u guys think! If you have any critique or advice!

My first tournament - High Elves at Age of 6ixmar Toronto

Last weekend was my first AoS tournament. There were 16 players (I think), double elimination-style, 1000pts, in a games shop in a Chinatown basement. It was good fun, even though I only managed to get three games in. I brought High Elves. I brought a list I had never played before. I've only ever played AoS with two close friends, and thought I was ready for the tournament, but I was on a losing streak right before army lists were due to be submitted. I panicked and went with som

SLAUGHTERPRIEST!!!

Time is flying by this month! So with the new White Dwarf enjoying awesome, and deserved, success, I have cracked on and finished my free slaughterpriest for my bloodbound. I have admittedly already painted one up for my warband so this time I thought I would add another character. The aspiring Deathbringer is currently being sold with the old Champion of Khorne model so I thought I would update is presence on the battlefield with something new. May I present my Aspiring Deathbrin

Heroes for the Realms at War!

Akhen-Sur could not see it. He had always been a fool. He had always had hope. “This is where we break them”, “We draw the line here”, always, always with the speeches. For weeks and months and years, we’d fight for one kingdom or another, but they’d always fall. We’d flee. And the next little realm would accept our help. Over and over and over again. For two hundred years we have been fighting against Chaos. Hopeless battles for doomed mortals. I guess that makes me a fool as well. The lightnin

Army Fluff & Color Schemes

With this entry, I'll talk a bit about the fluff I have in mind for my army, as well as potential color schemes.  I've been eyeing the different Bloodbound warbands and their color schemes in the battletome, and there are a few I'm pretty fond of. I think a mix of color is more interesting than the solid red and brass of the Goretide, which is a pretty classic depiction of Khorne-aligned armies. The Iron Horde is a radical departure from the usual red/black/brass, and the 'Eavy Metal team h

Down the Red Path...

This marks the first entry of my blog, The Brass Citadel. Here's where I'll log my progress as I build up a Khornite army, using Bloodbound and Daemons. I'll also be writing up fluff for the warband, and charting its exploits as I take it to the table!  Sadly, I don't have much to show for myself this moment, other than still-grey minis. The Bloobound half of the starter set arrived the other day, so I've built the characters, Blood Warriors and the Khorgorath. I'm not a big fan of Bloodrea

Converted Mangler Squig No.1

Hi Folks, I've been working on this model for quite some time, possibly a year or so. This is often the case with me in that I am very good at ideas and starting projects/models but struggle with completing them. I like the idea of the Squig Mangler but felt that it didn't quite look crazy enough. So I started to add fungus brew laced fanatics to the model. The fanatics are in perfect poses to add greater dynamism and movement to the model. As you can see from the picture below these w

Clanrats

I'm finally painting! I have my army list written and a monthly plan to stick to. I've initially got one eye on making my tournament debut at SCGT next year (I know, I'm a slow painter) but I've made a solid start in the past week, so I may well revise my painting plan. I think I'll create a separate blog post for each unit type and add to them as I go, or I might just end up throwing it all in here. We'll see.  Anyway, here's pics of my clanrats so far!

Tomb Kings

I'm working on another blog post and intend to post some more WIP skellies and Necromancer soon.  But, Since it's been a bit, I figured I'd drop some picks of another of my favorite armies.  I'm on and off with Tomb Kings.... I wanted to make an army of them for WHFB, but had problems staying motivated for a number of reasons.  Among which were the rules bloat, balance issuse, the number of models needed to play, and not having the time to play... Once AoS hit, I still wanted to finish

Preventing Hobby Wobble between Projects

Hello again everyone.  Sorry for the delay between posts recently, but you will be happy to know I will be back to my regular posting twice a month! We all have experienced Hobby Wobble and as Wargamers we have come to almost accept it as part of the process.  It sneaks into our hobby time like a Nurgling dancing around distracting us from the Great Unclean One that is our current (or next) project.  What are some of the ways to prevent Hobby Wobble? Is it possible to use Hobby Wobble to yo

Khalida finished!

High Queen Khalida is such a wonderful model. She's small, but so commanding. It's one of the really iconic Tomb King models for me. It's just so easy to imagine her standing in a temple, or on a sand dune, gazing across a battlefield. She looks ancient, but graceful. The model is actually quite small, a fairly realistically scaled female. She's actually smaller than the skeletons released at the same time! They weren't to scale, being as large as a man with his flesh still on. Basing

Warlords, Pestilens, NZ, Bring the Foulrain!

So I spent the last few weeks hobby time mostly painting & getting ready for Warlords. I had a lot of deliberation over what list to take, I have about 2.5k of Pestilens and can make any of the existing formations, but haven't playtested all of them yet. I mostly played up to now with 2 Plagueclaws in previous games , but I wanted to use the Foulrain this time and that meant I had less real estate to play with points wise as it's 700 points, so I found it hard to shoehorn in the rest of
