    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

Big Trouble in Little Azyrheim part 5

In the final battle of the Big Trouble in Little Azyrheim campaign, Skragnir has the Letter of Marque in hand, and has to run a blockade of enemies between himself and Castle Reaper.  This last battleplan is pretty much the same as the breakthrough battleplan in Hinterlands, but that's what we actually played at the event, so here it is. In the actual event, the end came down to a tie between Skragnir and the von Hortlaks.  We used XP gained as our tie breaker, and Skragnir and his cre

The cursed sheep

Here is the first mini of my project. It's not GW, actually it's just a toy farm animal but I think it sets the tone of this project quite well; this is not about gigantic hordes fighting high stakes battles for control of the realms. This is about skirmishes on the fringe of civilization, mutants raiding small farms, corrupted cattle, and all that "aesthetic of the pathetic" I keep hearing about!

Starblood's Prey

This guy I painted for the Golden Serpent competition on Lustria Online last Year: With the idea in my mind of an agile and striking old blood pursuing a victim across the jungle I started working on this mini. The first step was to make the Olblood look unique, to do this I used some bits from the carnosaur kit and the remaining weapon and head options for the old blood to create my guy. The first step was choosing the correct Bits, I did this by using silly Putty to put the pieces to

Introduction

Hi Everyone, Warhammer has always been a big part of my life, however It was 4 years ago when a friend re-introduced me to Warhammer Fantasy 8th eddition that It really gain a special spot in my heart.  From then on I have been improving my painting and conversions skills by putting a lot of hours into the hobby. In doing so I have found that feedback is one of the main driver that help me improve and that is the main reason why I started sharing my painted miniatures in Lustria Online

Road to Nova Open 2017 : Part 1

Hey Everyone!  There is quite a lot of Warhammer Events coming up such as Midwest Meltdown in July, Slobberknocker GT in July, as well as Heat 3 at Warhammer World this weekend!  However, my focus is on Nova Open as it will be my second Grand Tournament and I could not be more excited. This time around I will be participating in the Age of Sigmar Team Event on Friday as well as the Championship on Saturday and Sunday.  I also plan to catch up with the friends I have made in this hobby and e

Rat Tank - Some Assembly Requirend

Let's start with what they call a "money shot" I'm very pleased with how this turned out, it's crazy how well all three of these kits fit with some trimming.  My original intention was to use the Steam tank & the doomwheel, but after looking at the kits, and the dimensions of the cannon port at the front, I decided to chuck in a warp lightning cannon kit for good measure.  I started with the main chassis of the tank, putting it together as per the instructions, once I

Update 9 - Varghulf

Varghulf's just got some touching up to do but so far i'm pretty happy with it. I was worried i'd made the wrong call on not doing his 'skin' the same tones as the vampire lords but i'm glad i didn't because i think it would of been far too bright on do much of a surface area it'd spoil the monochrome effect/limited colour palette. Also its another thing you can pick out about the vampire lord when they're next to each other.

Weekly Hobby Update : 6-28-17

Hey Everyone!  It's Wednesday and time for my weekly Hobby Update.  It has been a fun week getting in my first game of the New 40k and getting back to some Age of Sigmar Hobby.  Nova is fast approaching and I plan to prepare with as many games with my Stormcast as I can in the next few months while painting up my Blades of Khorne so look forward to lots of that soon! My good friend Ed also known as EvilEd has finally moved back into 40k coming from being very prominent in the X-Wing Communi

The Knights

So I know it hasn't been long since I last posted but over the weekend I finished up a unit of cold one knights. So I figured might as well put up some pics! I've been trying out a few new techniques with them - it was actually my first time using an airbrush for the cold ones and I'm really happy with how they have turned out. I figured a purple cold one, so that if I ever feel like painting traditional nagarrythe units I will have no problems with getting the models to match. Then the sta

Warhammer Achievements Table 2 - The Altar of Khorne

The Plan Here you can see the original drawing I did and the image from the Blades of Khorne book that Inspired it. The first piece I wanted to was a Blood Altar of Khorne.    Building the Alter Base I've wanted to build a lava table for a while and running Warhammer Achievements has given me the option to do it. One of the centre piece items I wanted to build was a big alter that is dedicated to Khorne. I set out by cutting out some blue foam to make the main base and the ste

The Death Watch- Brother Apollyon

Brother Apollyon In the ancient city of Eistenpolis, greatest metropolis of all the fractured, squabbling principalities of the now-dead realm of Arcadia, Apollyon plied his trades as a humble smith and part-time soldier.  He lived, laughed and loved, earning a respected place in his community and raising a large, happy family. He was proud of his children, his neighbors, his people and his gods. When the trouble began, he was a voice of calm and an advocate for fidelity to Arcadia's panthe

Pi-rat popup picture post.

A while back, before I decided that warhammer wasn't the game for me anymore (some point after 7th was released). I decided that I wanted to make a small force of skaven with a pirate theme.  and given the way that my younger self was, I would collect the miniatures, then flit from project to project without really starting anything or seeing it through.  so I moved on to mordheim, then got my heroquest figures mostly painted, then my AHQ figures (which I still have a bunch to finish)  and

Episode 29: The Red Games Go Faster (Orks vs. Dark Eldar 2000 Points)

Continuing my week of playing a ton of games, I go my first 8th Edition game against Dark Eldar. This may actually be my first game against Dark Eldar ever and they're looking extremely cool in the new edition. This was also a "revenge" game against a local player who smashed me pretty good with Necrons so I was hoping I could settle the score. You can check out the Battle Report below and I'm continuing to do my thoughts after the game in video format while working on production value as m

Finding the Hobby Balance

Hey Everyone!  Another week has come and gone and I bet you're sitting at home, or perhaps sneaking a quick read in at work, or possibly commuting home and passing the boredom with today's post.  However, if you are reading this I bet you are similar to me with your passion for our Hobby and the ever present thoughts of painting, building, and playing games are within you.  Sadly, not all of us are can count our Hobby as our profession, and sometimes it might be best to keep it separate.  How do

Nicopaint - DoT update - My Kairos/LoC

While I've not been pumping out painted armies like I did last year, I did manage to convert and paint up my Kairos/Loc: The first conversion was attaching the flames from an Exalted Flamer to his outstretched paw for some Pink Fire action. The second conversion was building a set of 5 disks which would constitute a giant clock for Kairos to perch upon and having this clock suspended above a pool of magic water emerging from the lava fields of Chamon. I used spare bits f

Big Trouble in Little Azyrheim part 4

Welcome to Part 4 of Big Trouble in Little Azyrheim.  We've hit the home stretch.  After being betrayed by a member of his own crew, Skragnir and his Arkanauts have to survive the night hiding out in the Murderwood on the edge of town. This battleplan is a new take on an oft repeated concept.  Assassins are out to kill Skragnir the Recalcitrant, who has to start in the center of the battlefield.  The twist here is that the Defender gets to start off with all their models on the battlef

The Executioners

Welcome all. So the first unit which I've decided to finish up are my Har Ganeth Executioners. So far 9 of the 10 are complete, I just have the standard to go. Given the idea behind Har Ganeth I have decided to theme my army in red. This way I can build an army of Har Ganeth with Khaine as the core theme.  Comments and Criticism Welcome! Well without further a due here are my executioners: Clue "It is said that a fully-trained Executioner knows the way to kill any

Running a Demo Event

About two months ago I organized and ran an Age of Sigmar Demo event at Kingdom Con in sunny San Diego. I wrote most of this article a couple of weeks after the event and paused right when my schedule got out of control. Now I am revisiting this article with the perspective of also seeing the results of community engagement. With the amazing help from my buddy Rob from our Wednesday AoS group I feel we put together a great event. Kingdom Con is a four day game convention that hosts The Broads

Weekly Hobby Update : 6-21-17

Happy Wednesday everyone!  It has been a flurry of Hobby lately and most of it #New40k.  I am very happy to be jumping back into the Grim Dark of The Far Future as well as playing in The Mortal Realms.  I remember the fun-filled times of days gone past when I played both systems and I am glad those days are back!  While the 40k break has been nice, especially after putting a lot of time and effort into Coalescence, I am very excited to jump back into more of a Sigmar Focus in the next few months
