    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

All yarr base are belong ta US!

Yar mateys! So I think I mentioned earlier the influence for my army: So I had some things to think about. How am I going to do cloud basing? How do I make the ships look lived in? How am I going to come up with those tentacles? I've come up with some solutions (I hope!). So far, I've got the tentacles sorted at least for the smaller bases. The ships are going to require bigger and better tentacles and other cool bits and bobs. I'll cross that bridge when I get there, but I'v

Community Player Spotlight – Tyler Hamil

Welcome back to another edition of our Community Player Spotlight series. This time around I am interviewing one of our top players, Tyler Hamil. Since it did not come up in the interview, I would like to congratulate him again for taking 2nd overall in last years ITC rankings. Enjoy! Name (Nickname): Tyler Patrick Hamil (SlickKid) Club: I have learned through the Age of Sigmar community that you don’t necessarily need to belong to just one club. I have become friends with players all over t

A few steps forward a few steps back

The PlagueBearers are moving forward, the yellow might be a bit to bright but I am feeling pretty happy with them.  Bilespurter on the other hand has regressed a bit, I decided I wanted to do him with a green under belly and a more decaying skin top. Somewhat similar to the box art thought I will be adding my own spin to it. So he was re-base coated and has now had a gloss varnish bath ready for washes .

Wary Veterans

A Craftsman with a Secret: Many years had passed since anyone had heard words uttered by Rukh Ragnolfson. As he had emerged from the massive stone archway that housed one of the realmgates spanning Azyr and Chamon, the cool crisp air was like a slap in the face. No, something colder… It was the feeling of bare skin sinking into a hidden snowdrift while climbing up the foothills of Azyr as a child; equal parts shocking and exciting. His lips parted as though to comment on the scene around hi

Ahoy thar, Mateys!

I'm going to be making a Barak-Mhornar Fleet, and I couldn't be more excited. That's saying something for an excitable gamer! Since we had heard rumors of a Dwarf Blimp back in 8th Edition I'd been saving money to start The Fleet. I've also threatened to sell all my armies if they brought back Squats to 40k, but that may turn out to be an idle threat So I've got the vision for Barak-Mhornar, the Pirate City. My Fleet will be focussed on the art and trade of Brewing, with a secret itinerary:

Weekly Hobby Update : 5-3-17

Hey Everyone!  I hope you all have been on a roll with your hobby.  There is plenty to prepare for such the upcoming Nashcon, Coalescence, Socal Open, Cross Roads GT, Nova and the new Midwest Meltdown (Ask Domus for more info)!  I am still trying to prepare the terrain for my local Coalescence event as well as prepare a Display board for my Warhammer Stores Inner Circle event. 2 day Display Board! I was able to work up this fairly generic display board in a few days for the local Inner Ci

The Betrayed and the Betrayers

There be stories of Dawi lost in the raging storms of vengeance and betrayal. So strong the current that whole clans are dragged down into the bottomless pit of despair and desperation, cursed and exiled by their fellow kin. Robbed of the simple necessities of home and honour. Such lost souls have sought to right this wrong that has besettled them for generations and such the bitter folk of Barak Ekrund was formed.... My kharadons hail from a outcast group of dawi named the Ekrund Unbaraki,

Hoping to help some of our NEOs with promotion of their event in non-English countries and make this truly a global narrative Age of Sigmar event, here is the flyer with only the Coalescence title. PDF link below, and followed by JPEG image. coal poster17_clean.pdf.pdf coal poster17_title only.psd

Washing away the filth

I added some red and sepia Ink washes to all the wounds and open stomachs to give them a dark gory red brown base. I then gave them a coat of gloss varnish and then washed the entire models in a brown and green mix wash to darken them up a bit especially in the recesses. I then did a thin purple wash to get a bit more color variation.  The next step was to paint in the guts and wounds with some Vallejo red, wash that with purple and then go back over it with red... I then realized i was out of p

Der Golem

I've always been fascinated by the Golem character of the silent movie directed and starring by Paul Wegener in 1920. The Golem is a clay colossal "monster" created by a Rabbi to defend the jewish community in a 16th century Prague.  This magical and sinister creature, in my opinion, is a perfect character for my city of the damned, Mordheim. I started to sculpt body in polymer clay using a ogre head and green stuf for details as gloves, boots and his hilarious hair. For the star shaped amulet I

Dreg addiction

Deformed body, disturbed mind, rat eaters and pestilence bearer, that’s a dreg, a reject in the streets of Mordheim, city of the damned. I always love the original and rare model of Mordheim dreg, so I decided tu sculpt my own band of these miserable creatures. Green stuff and a bunch of spare parts are all I need for my little freaky world.  To create my Mordheim dreg #1 I used a gnoblar body from Citadel Ogre bulls box set, the head is full sculpted using greenstuff as well as the rat in his

Possibile paint Scheme for Khorne. Something different

I am not one to have the same exact color scheme on all of my miniatures. Since my Khorne  army will be close to 100 miniatures when completed I wanted a subtle change from unit to unit. I myself feel that the armor on the Blood Warriors is a little over the top for me. Kieran Robinson has inspired me to try this color scheme. I am really looking forward to trying this. What do you think?

The Collegiate Arcane

With the reopening of the Gates of Azyr, the scholars of the Collegiate Arcane have been granted an opportunity forbidden for centuries. Generations have passed since they had anything new to study, but now the God-King’s irresistible vengeance has opened the door to an infinite sea of discovery. As the people of Azyr march to reclaim their ancestral homes and settle the Mortal Realms once more in the name of peace and Order, scholars of every school and class are rushing to stake their claims,

Battle Trait: Pleasure & Pain Thresholds

So my thoughts for changing the battle trait were based around the fact that just running and charging seemed pretty boring. The new Blades of Khorne gave me a lot of inspiration as it is a little out of the box compared to the other Aos Battle traits. This also has me wanting to make some changes to the artifacts of power and go for something more unique to Slaanesh.  Allegiance Battle Trait:Pain & Pleasure Thresholds Cult of Slaanesh forces are always focused on bringing pain and
