  1. So my thoughts for changing the battle trait were based around the fact that just running and charging seemed pretty boring. The new Blades of Khorne gave me a lot of inspiration as it is a little out of the box compared to the other Aos Battle traits. This also has me wanting to make some changes to the artifacts of power and go for something more unique to Slaanesh. Allegiance Battle Trait:Pain & Pleasure Thresholds Cult of Slaanesh forces are always focused on bringing pain and pleasure to themselves and those around them. Keep track of the number of wounds that each player causes in each battle round. At the beginning of each battle round Slaanesh units within 12” of the general or another hero gain an ability detailed below. If the enemy player caused more wounds then the Cult of Slaanesh force is in the pain threshold. Affected units can run and charge in the same turn. Additionally, those units may also add a distance to their run equal to the number of friendly Slaanesh heroes within 12” If the Cult of Slaanesh player caused more wounds then the Cult of Slaanesh force is in the pleasure threshold. Affected units can add +1 to their hit rolls in the close combat phase. If the result is a tie then randomise which threshold the Cult of Slaanesh force is in.
  2. I hope the skirmish stuff is similar to Hinterlands. That game has been excellent.
  3. Unit Points Cultist (Batleline) 100 Devoted (Battleline) 180 Sybarite Cavalry 120 Blade Dancers (might need to be increased to 200) 180 Cult Sorceress 100 Cult Sorceress on Dark Pegasus 120 Annointed 140 Highborn on Corrupted Dragon 380 Effigy of Excess 220 Battalion Points Corrupted House of Zanthel 60 Souleater Coven 60 Gladiators of New Naggarond 100
  4. Corrupted House of Zanthel- Thoughts behind this one are to keep it focused on the dragon part and the head of a household finally revealing their worshipping of slaanesh. Cult sorceress is matriach and highborn is patriarch of the family. Devoted represent the house guard that would follow. Units 1 Cult Sorceress (may be mounted on dark pegasus) 1 Highborn on Corrupted Dragon 2-4 Cultists 1-3 Devoted Special Rules The Cult Sorceress is the leader of this battaltion. She gains +1 wound and +1 to cast for all spells. If a unit from this battalion is within 6” of a hero from this battalion and fails a battleshock test then only one model flees. If a hero is within 3” of a unit from this battalion then you may choose to allocate any mortal wounds suffered to the unit rather than the hero. Souleater Coven- Focus on the magic part of it. I would expect this to be a cheaper battalion but I worry about it being slightly too powerful. Units 2-3 Cult Sorceresses (may be mounted on dark pegasus) 2+ Cultists Special Rules Select one of the Cult Sorceress to be the leader of the coven. This model gains +1 wounds and +1 to cast. When one of these sorceress is within 6” of a unit of cultists from this battalion then the sorceress gains +1 to cast and may cast two spells a turn rather than 1. Gladiators of New Naggarond- My favorite idea for a battalion. All the units take thier arrogance rule to the max and try even hard to best any other units on the tabletop. Seems like it could be really powerful, so expect to be over 100 points. Units 2-5 BladeDancer units 1-2 Annointed Special Rules One of the Annointed is appointed the leader of this battalion. This model gains +2 wounds. Keep track of the number of units that this battalion has destroyed each player turn. At the end of each player turn roll a dice for each unit destroyed. On a roll of a 4+ all models in the battalion gain +1 attack with all close combat weapons.
  5. Allegiance Ability: Deadly Swift: Units with “Cult of Slaanesh” keyword may run and charge in the same turn if they are within 12” of a hero at the start of the charge phase. My thoughts for this allegiance ability are to keep the movement of the army quick. Plain and simple it benefits this army in the fact that is very much a glass cannon.
  6. Titanium Coils- These whips are carried around at all times, shinning immaculately with a plethora of scythed blades, spikes, and leather. During the shooting phase, this model may whip a close by enemy model. Roll a dice for each wound the model has. On 6, the model suffers a mortal wound. Cloak of Twilight- From an age beyond memory, this cloak bears constellations and causes shadows far beyond that of normal cloth. Roll a dice for each wound or mortal wound this model suffers in the hero phase and shooting phase. On a roll of 4 or more, the wound or mortal wound is ignored. Shadowstone- Carried in a necklace or an a helm, blood spilled nearby causes this stone to pulse with a mysterious light with flashes of shadow. In the close combat phase, keep track of the number of wounds caused in the combat phase. At the end of each close combat phase this model may move a distance equal to the number of wounds caused. *Note that this is not considered a retreat.* Chrome plating- Encased in armour shining so bright that flashes of steel miss completely. Enemy models suffer -1 to hit in close combat if this model has already made close combat attacks. Sigvald’s Rapier- This blade is thin and quick, but sharp enough to pierce even the hardest hide and armour. May increase the rend value of one weapon by 1. Exotic Piercings- Just mere glimpses of the self inflicted pain this creature has done is enough to cause the bravest beast to cower back in fright. Roll a dice for each enemy unit within 3” at the start of your enemies movement phase. On a roll of 1, that unit may must retreat from combat. If the unit is unable to retreat then it may not make close combat attacks.
  7. Command Traits Immaculate beauty- This creature’s physical features draw the eye of all creatures high and low. Focus and desire gain hold of their mind whenever they are near. Enemy models suffer -1 to hit in shooting/cc Insatiable craving for violence- No matter the foe, members of the cult follow this creature for they know that slaughter, pain and most importantly pleasure are guaranteed to come. All friendly units, including this model, within 12” may reroll charge rolls Intoxicating fumes- Incense and sniffing boxes waft around this creature bringing on euphoria and adrenaline rushes. This model gains +1 to wound when charging and any friendly models within 6” at start of the combat phase when it has charged. Dark Temptation- This creature has the power to grant strength and power to foes nearby. It is a touch from the Dark Prince himself, and the Dark Prince doesn’t allow a touch without payment. May grant up to +6 attacks to an enemy model each hero phase. If that model rolls any 1s to hit then it is slain. Suffering for pleasure: As with all Slaanesh worshippers, pain and pleasure are intertwined together, but for this creature pain is the ultimate goal. If this general has previously suffered any damage in this turn then you may add +1 attack with all ranged and close combat weapons. Flashing Speed- The lithe limbs and movements of this creature invoke a similar craving for movement in followers around. This model may cast Flashing Speed in the hero phase. Flashing Speed has a casting value of 4. Once cast pick a friendly unit with 18”. That unit may roll an additional dice when running and charge and use the highest result. *Note that if the general is already a wizard then this spell may be cast in addition to any other spells it may normally cast.*
  8. Attached are all the warscrolls for the new units.
  9. Cult Sorceress- This is of course the main part of our cult of slaanesh lists. Back in 6th, a sorceress had to be your general. I don't like putting those types of stipulations, but maybe a battalion could provide that part. I also think that having an option for a Dark pegasus would be a good option. Cultists- These would be your main units. These are the women/men with knives, no armour, totally devoted to slaanesh. Could provide an option for shield maybe, but I love the idea of having bonus attacks based on increments of Slaanesh's number; 6. Annointed- Also a throwback to Storm of Chaos. These are aelves that have been totally corrupted by chaos. They are bigger, beefier, and more like an athletic chaos lord. Also to fall back with slaaneh I like the options of having two swords or a spear that can be thrown. Devoted- These are like cultists that are of the warrior classes. Heavily armored. Heavy weapons. Very similar to executioners in playstyle. Sybarite Cavalry- sybarite is defined as a person who is self-indulgent in their fondness for sensuous luxury. This fits well with the cult of slaanesh theme. I imagine a city, Sybaris, where the entire city has been corrupted. These are elves that have been granted steeds of slaanesh. Keep them similar to hellstriders. Bladedancers- By far my favorite idea for cult lists. These are the inbetween for Annointed and cultists. They are elves that are larger, stronger, etc. Basically the best fighters who are also extremely arrogant and prideful. I'm imagining a group of male elves who think they are the most beautiful, best, etc. Rules would reflect them fighting harder near other units to prove they are the best. Highborn on Corrupted Dragon- Black dragon egg taken by a cult. Prayed over. Slaanesh corrupted. I imagine a big purple dragon with scales and pale skin. (I use my converted Hordes Legion Dragon) Effigy of Excess- Slaanesh version of cauldron of blood. Grants the 6+ save, but no increases. Can unbind, maybe cast arcane bolt. Whip others around them into a frenzy to gain +1 to hit.
  10. I think that the Shadowkin could definitely include a lot of the models mentioned above. Are we thinking that the lore behind shadow warriors will be changing? I know that in 8th they hated Malekith and the dark elves more than any other high elves. I could see them staying in the realm of shadow but as a constant harassment to the shadowkin that reside there. I also would love to see these guys having a much more political related relationship to the high elves in the realm of light. Rather than constantly being at war they could be secretly harassing and messing using subterfuge, assassins, hit and run type stuff.
