    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

Getting Gross

It has been a few more washes, some edge highlighting and alot of pustules painted but I am almost done with the magoth, he still needs some final touches such as blood for the blood god and nurgles rot but I will have to wait till he has been varnished for those. Next up is getting Bloab done and stuck on.

Elgi-Bar: The account of Skyrock´s rescue of Elgroz

Admiral Skyrock had bearly returned from the siege of Barak-Nar, when she received the news of Elgroz´s failing health and no medical treatment of the Overlords seemed to work. Without even stopping to restock her fleet, she quickly gave the order to set course to Lake Rurbedas where a Realmgate to Ghyran could be found on the lake´s bottom. Once in the Realm of Life, Skyrock hoped she would find a solution to Elgroz illness.   Ignoring the safe route to Rurbedas, a journey normally taking

Elgi-Bar: Yllrud Skyrock – Admiral of the Rerekfjiord company

Somewhat of a celebrity in Elgi-Bar, Admiral Yllrud Skyrock is an obstinate commander of the crews under her command. A veteran from Brokk Grungsson´s counterattack on the siege of Barak-Nar and saviour of Elgroz´s life, she has earned her place as Lord-commander of Elgi-Bar´s sky-fleet. Her most striking trait is however her known dislike to seeing bare flesh. She is considered uncommonly prude among a folk rumoured being savages. This is normally not a problem since most Kharadron Overlo

Elgi-Bar: The great grudge

While becoming more modern since regaining contact with rest of the Kharadron society and agreeing to the terms to the Code, there is still one grudge every duardin of Elgi-Bar still carries within them. Even though millennia have passed since the age of Chaos began and now recently the stormhost from Azyr have start driven the ruinous powers from the Mortal realms, the Overlords of Elgi-Bar have not forgiven the god king Sigmar for abandoning their ancestors, taking their creator god Grungni wi

Elgi-Bar: Master hunters and wild traders

Characterized by the wildlife of Ghur, the Kharadron Overlords of Elgi-Bar are considered poorer and not as civilized as the other major sky-ports and is somewhat looked down upon. It is true some members of the arkanaut companies of Elgi-Bar still uses the same armour their ancestors bore the days when they left their mountain holds, and the city´s technology is not as advanced as others (many foreign admirals often comment this to the fact that the inhabitants of Elgi-Bar still haven´t been ab

Elgi-Bar: The founding

It was under the great exodus during the age of Chaos, where the ancestors to today’s Kharadron Overlords fled to the skies, a castaway fleet of frigates in search of a sanctum came across the giant Elgroz. Filled with the well coveted substance “Aether-gold” the refugees first tried to extract it from this sky leviathan, but at the time their tools where not suited to even pierce the transparent skin of Elgroz. Fearing to lose it (and it´s valuable gas) the fleeing duardins decided to settle up

Elgi-Bar: Summary

The sky fortress Elgi-Bar in the wild beast realm of Ghur is a peculiar one for the society of the sky faring Kharadron Overlords. In contrast to the fully mechanical city-ports commonly populated by their kin, this metropole is built upon a humongous gas filled jellyfish, named “Elgroz” which in the local tongue translates to “soft skinned giant”, which drifts with the sky torrents.

Pumped about Skirmish..

I am kinda pumped about the new Skirmish book coming out. I have always loved small scale skirmish stuff and this fits my needs to a T. I think this will give me a chance also to dip my toe in the water with some factions I have yet to play and not spend a ton of money before hand. I really like the new battle mat that is being released with this stuff and can't wait to get my hands on the new book. I am hoping to generate some interest in AOS with these small skirmish games. What do you all thi

All new terrain for AoS

This is just a quick work in progress post. I've decided I really want to get some more varied terrain for my games so I invested in some second hand craters off Ebay. They are quite damaged, but I have based them on some hardboard and I plan to go in and fix the gaps and holes with filler and play bark. Once undercoated I have a few ideas for different fillings. Three will be lave pits for a Realm of fire table, one will be a Nurgle Swamp and the other will be a Tzeentch themed piece of dangero

Troggoths March to war

Hey guys!   So finally after trying to get to a tournament for the last few months I made it to one. The tournament was a one dayer and had an attendance of 32 players. Which is actually the second largest in Australia I believe. The largest AOS event I know of was 50 or so down in Canberra.   I wanted to take a fun list with some of my cooler models and went with: Frostlord on stonehorn - Battle brew Troll hag - General, bellowing tyrant 6 fellwater troggoths

Slaanesh Demon Prince

This was an older model that I had rebased but not painted, so I spent a few hours earlier this week getting him finished so that I could use him in some games. I still have a load of chariots that I need to do so they will have to get finished at some point soon as well. The conversion was not too complex - I took the wings from the High Elf Dragon kit and just stuck them onto the Slaughterbrute body. The whole model was spray painted silver and then the purple and green was airbrushed on and t

Migrating the Compendium

Hey guys, So I've been a little vocal about things I think GW are doing a bit poorly. I personally think how they've handled the compendium is one of them.  The problem I have with the compendium, is that not all things came out equal when they bought out the Grand Alliance books. Some units, slot into new factions absolutely fine because that faction was largely unchanged when it was migrated (Wanderers, Free Peoples, Dispossessed, Slaves to Darkness, etc). Some units are fine anyway,

Carcarion claims the spoils

Horrors giggled as they emerged onto the abundant landscape of the Realm of Life. Trees adorned the rolling hills and an old fort, at one with the foliage emerging from it, sat ahead of them.  Carcarion, an Ogroid Thaumaturge of impressive width, lumbered through the gate behind them. He was accompanied by a willowy Gaunt Summoner, his name known only to himself. More troops of the Neverending Host of Change filed and flew from the rippling realmgate. A chariot, complete with Gorebeast, rum

The Hobby Journal

Hey Everyone!  This week I wanted to take the time to discuss the value that I have found in using a Hobby Journal.  Earlier this week I also put out a Poll on Twitter to ask the question "Do you use a Hobby Journal"  I will dive into the results, but while there was a lot of votes for no it seemed those who did use a Journal were passionate enough to discuss how they use this handy tool.  Hopefully, by the end of the post, you will run out and start a Hobby Journal of your own! When I firs

Nurgle Harbinger - Back to the Budget of Sigmar 2

I had this conversion knocking around my painting desk for a while as my Budget of Sigmar 2 Army got shelved as I worked on the Tzeentch army for the South Coast GT. I had always planned on it being the leader of the force. It is on a big 60mm base with the mystical rocks hanging around him. The conversion was done with the 40K Cult Mechanics hero and mixing it with Blight Kings parts. The most challenging part was drilling out the head to make the space for the Blightkings head. As I started pa

The Paranoid Ogroid

Time for another character for my chaos army. This one nicely blurs the line between sorcerer and beastman,,, The Ogroid Thaumaturge! Mainstay of The Silver Tower and Tzeentch Arcanites (he wouldn't look bad as the magic support in a Warherd army either...) I was quite happy with the wet blending on his skin, although I could quite happily never have to paint another one of his eldritch sigils. I'm not sure how I feel about his 'looking over the shoulder' pose. It's nice

Cult of Pleasure

Hello all, welcome to my first blog post! I got a little confused between this and a project log thread, but rest assured it'll all mostly be documented here. As the title says, I've started the steady decline into the seedy Cults of Pleasure that plague many a city.    Ive uploaded several images of a colour scheme that I'm very much set on. Those miniatures however are for a 3rd edition/realm of chaos project. The final image, the bare plastic chap, will be the leader of my Dark Age

How to pair players at your event

You have a list of registered players, and you may have that list divided into teams, although you may want to wait on creating final team rosters and the pairings for the first round of games. Even a registered player may cancel the morning of the event, and you may have a drop-in player you can accommodate and add to the event. So we recommend you wait until your designated start time before you finalize your player list and start with pairings. Also, on the subject of organizing your pla

Weekly Hobby Update : 5-17-17

Hey Everyone.  This past week of hobby saw more work on painting my Terrain in preparation for Coalescence as well as finally getting back to some gaming.  Outside of that, I have been planning out my posts for the next few weeks as I have a lot of travel for work coming up, but you can still expect my usual Wed and Fri posts along with some nice pictures of my travels and travel hobby. My Garden of Morr made its way from The Old World into The Mortal Realms Some Classic Terrain piece

Warpigs

My Beasts of Chaos army once was comprised of Beast Herds, Shaggoths and Chaos Ogres... but when the 7th Edition army book came out it removed those units from the army and so project warpig was started. I had a bunch of spare boar heads in my bits box at the time as the tuskgor chariots always came with alternate heads. These pigs needed a leader and aside from the shield, i also built my first full greenstuff model for the doompig. Unfortunately i never ran them much so never finished the

Three heads are better than one

(actually four heads, if you count the one on the tail) It's the Chimera! He seemed to be a stalwart of 8th Ed Chaos armies, but I haven't seen him about in many battle reports. I think monsters are suffering from lack of synergy - it would be nice to see them buffed by a beastmaster-type, like a Great Bray Shaman or a Bloodstoker. Nonetheless, I'm slowly building a menagerie of chaos beasties, so this puppy gets to join the Cockatrice in the zoo. I was either going
