    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

Update 3 - Dire Wolves

Work in progress Dire Wolves, trying to give them a more natural look to fit in with fluff. I wanted something that would correspond to their wood elf counterparts which would be hunting hounds. Still got some work to do on these and I also started on a Varghulf conversion.

5. Haton or Hatton

The Great T War  The question of the correct spelling of the Town of Hatton has always generated great debate amongst the great Haton scholars and common folk alike. Whether the addition of an extra t is correct or incorrect was a common argument regularly heard in “The Round Table” with things coming to a head during the Great T War of 1435. This was a bloody war, with brother fighting against brother, father fighting against son, and second cousin twice removed fighting against third

The Krell Bomb - Firestorm Fours 2017

Last year's event Firestorm Fours last year was a fantastic event. I was brought in as a mercenary by captain Rob (Rufio!) Symes. After nearly breaking WhatsApp in the lead up to the event, Rob, Nathan Prescott (#LongLiveTheHoodedVillain) and Rob Crouchley arrived for what turned out to be an epic event. The atmosphere and all 6 games were exceptional.  I got kerbstomped hard by Terry Pike game one - nothing like drawing the Facehammer Team for the first round of an event - learned a l

Back....and one of the faithful!

After a lengthy hobby break I'm back!  The audio dramas have been a huge inspiration for me and I got the stormcast bug! Chatting with local Rotherham GW manager Liam (awesome dude!) he mentioned they had started an AoS event based around building a new force and expanding it over several months.  Picking up the stormcast getting started box I've been really loving the models. And they are a joy to paint!after the getting started box is done i'll be adding judicators and some more

The Wolf and the Rat, new monsters and now at 2000pts!

Today, I'm very pleased to share that my army "The Wolf and the Rat" just hit their 2000pts of painted minis target and I can more or less draw a line under this army as "completed." This will undoubtedly prove to be a fabrication as the urge to add new guys will eventually hit me, though the limiting factor will now be how much space is left in my storage foam. More Bloodletters and Blood Warriors would be nice to mix things up, and theres no shortage of awesome models to paint that would fit t

Community Player Spotlight – Frank DeLoach

As the lead blogger for the Age Of Sigmar Community team I thought it would be a great idea to recognize and interview members of our local gaming community. For our first interview I reached out to one of my favorite AoS players; Frank DeLoach. Frank and his clubmates are top notch players and amazing members of the community and I couldn’t think of anyone better to start with. Without further delay here is the interview: Name: Frank DeLoach Club: We Slay Dragons (W.S.D. for short) Home F

Changing up some Tzaangor

Next up for the Tzeentch faction are the Tzaangor. I love the idea of these variant beastmen (it would be great to get some plastic kit Khornegor, Pestigor and ... Slaaneshgor?) and these particular ones are my favourite Tzeentch models. I went for the 'standard' colours of The Cult of The Transient Form - there's lots of colour options, but I think gold+turquoise is pretty Tzeentch. The Silver Tower Tzaangors come in two identical sets of three, but it didn't seem

Spring 2017 At Ease Carnage

Saturday was the Spring At Ease Carnage, a one day Age of Sigmar tournament in San Diego California. It was hosted by one of our local FLGS’s At Ease Games and run by our superstar TO Scott Reed. Not only was this a super fun time but it also served as prep for a two day GT in San Diego called The Broadside Bash at the end of April. Scott has been working on tuning The Generals Handbook’s matched play scenarios to include secondary and tertiary objectives. This approach is very similar to what

Slow Grow week 2 pt 1

Hi all, here is the first battle report from the second 760 point week of our Slow Grow league at Kirton Games (https://www.facebook.com/kirtongames/?ref=ts&fref=ts). I haven't added anything to my army from the previous week, despite my low model count, so I wasn't expecting great things. Please see the previous blog entry for my list.    Battle 1 Khorne ( bloodhound I think) opponent had 30 blood letters and a big unit of the Khorne marauder guys, as well as a half naked guy with

Founded a sweet games club , The Miramar Freebooters!

I've been living in Wellington NZ on and off for a while now and have been thinking about starting up an independent gaming club for a while, and decided to finally get it going recently. We play tabletop wargames, boardgames and RPG's and are 100% free and all inclusive. I co-founded it and run it with my friend Tim who is helping to keep it going while I'm back in the UK on a break. The venue we use is a beautiful local art deco cinema down the road from the film studios where they m

Shields of Alarielle

I have finished the wooden shields of Alarielle. Pretty pleased with how they have turned out, the green shoulders and blue blades tie them in pretty well with the rest of my army. Up next are my Dracoths, having an internal debate over these, wondering if I should chop off those hammer heads and replace them with Scythes, as well as how to approach painting them. I am thinking of doing them in a similar manner to my Magmadroth, just without the metallic scales, but that may be a bit too mu

Savage Big Boss and Wardokk conversions

I had some leftovers from Savage Boarboys, so I made Savage Big Boss and Wardokk from spare legs/bodies. I have Wurrgog to paint, then I think I'll stop painting bonesplitterz - as it turns out, horde armies are not my favourite to paint, I tend to get bored and therefore hurry to finish the models. Currently I cannot imagine that painting another 20 savage orruks could be very interesting. Single models are more like it.  Big Boss has body/legs from boarboy, hands from Big Stabbas. I stret

Why is it??

Why is it I always finding myself wanting to build models when I am painting them? Why is it that when I am painting  such cool models I want to be building more? Seems this cycle never ends for me. Part of the reason is never being able to give as much time to the hobby as I would like to. Life certainly gets in the way and of course I have to work to earn money to buy new toy soldiers.  Now I have never been much of a 40K guy in the last 10-15 years, but I was a huge Necromunda guy in it

Greenskinz big mob and friends

Hey guys! So I've been painting seraphon for a tournament on the 16th, but the whole time I've been thinking about my game the other day with a friend and I think I might wait to bust out the seraphon... Need some more practice, I don't think the list I was going to take is for someone with as little AOS experience as myself. So I was back at the drawing board, looking at my collection I saw that I had a large collection of greenskinz sitting in the lunch bags they came in (bought them

Post Adepticon 2017 Impressions

Hello, everyone!  I have recently returned from my first Adepticon and I wanted to share an overview of my time at the convention and run through my experience.  Spoilers...it was great! I traveled out with my buddy Matt and from Pittsburgh, PA.  We took a predawn drive Thursday morning through a few states; Indiana being the worst due to construction, and seven hours later we arrived at our hotel.  After a bit of unwinding, I headed over to the Convention Hall to Register and explore. Kairos Arrives

For my South Coast Army I needed Kairos to lead my troops. Although he has lost the ability to change the turn roll he is still a good leader. Once again the model was a real joy to put together. I tried to keep the staff separate this time to make sure that the painting was a bit easier this time. I sprayed the model Macragge Blue, then used a baby blue spray paint and some white from a can to pick out the chest and heads. I used spray cans for the purple on the wings and also to do the feet. pre-first game

So I'm hoping to go to the AOS GT heat 3 at Warhammer world I'm fairly experienced competitive 40k player and I've decided to make the jump to sigmar. I will be taking chaos mix of deamons and mortal mostly nurgle. I'll be using thisbliglotkin as a way to document the trials and tribulations of building painting and play testing the army. I've got my first game in 5 days  (weds 5th of april) and I'm sure the army list I'll take won't be the same one I take to the gt.  Te list is:-  Glo

FAQs for London's Calling 2017

I came up with these FAQs for London's #Calling - a 2,000 point AoS tournament using 5 of the 6 SCGT Battleplans.   All comments are welcome.   FAQs for London's Calling 2017 We're going to apply the following FAQs at London's Calling 2017. These FAQs supplement and add to the official GW FAQs (the December ones with the Magenta amendments on them); and the House Rules of the SCGT pack. Most of these are clarifications of specific rules, particularly new rules from the latest

Mostly Grots II - the belated yet thrilling conclusion

I'm sure you're all itching to know whether or not Gordrakk got his 700 points cost back over my 6 games at Blood & Glory. The first five battle reports are here: After five games, the list had proved its mettle against some rather tough lists (3 Mixed Destruction filth lists, Mourngul death list. My Nasty Skulkers had shredded 2 Stonelords in game one; a Husktusk and nearly killed a Stonelord in game 3; and a Stonelord and another Stonelord and Husktusk in game 5 - not bad g
