    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

What is your level of competitiveness?

I was chatting with my friend about our preparation for Adepticon that is rapidly approaching.  An interesting topic came up on where we saw ourselves in a level of competitiveness.  I thought it could be a good talking point to discuss how someone might see themselves in the various levels of competition. So much to do and so little time... I see myself as a very competitive player.  However, Adepticon will most likely change my perspective on the matter.  In my local scene, I hang around

Scream(er) if you want to go faster.

Just a small update on my first bit of painting progress. The screamers were a nice simple model to assemble with only four pieces but the kit has enough options to really vary the different daemons you get in it. I initially went for a marine predator feel with subtle shades of blue but they looked rather bland so I've blended (well attempted to) the dorsal fins and spines with purples to add more Tzeentch vibrancy.  The blending still needs a bit more work and I think I'll have to do

AoS28 Flayed Ones Skeletons Part 2

Part 2 I made up some new stuff like who leads such a horde. Still nameless but it is a Tomb King with a fashion sense. I have lots of parts laying around for the original army idea. My idea was to fill front lines with Empire looking troops and less dressed skeletons in the back. The best of the unit survived the end of the world so the army will look like a weird butchered empire battlegroup. I will paint them like they are from different units. Also made a quest for them. The Path to Change

So my FLGS is embarking on an AoS slow grow league to get a player base established in the area. I have decided to play Disciples of Tzeentch, as I've long been an admirer of the changer of ways. I will be keeping my progress and results updated here as the league progresses, mainly as a way to document my experience and keep me motivated.    The league itself will be starting at 760 points with a requirement of 1 battleline unit to begin with. I am playing daemons of Tzeentch, other a

Shadowscales

Another work in progress. The idea is a Seraphon strike force in the realm of shadows Ulgu or even darker places. These Lizards have adapted to their environment. Trapped from their brethren they survived chaos and slowly turned from prey to predator. Main inspiration are the Predator Movies. Because they are so far away from other Seraphon they created their own culture of danger and hunting the most dangerous daemons. Also have some black Ripperdactyl Riders and of course Cham

GAPI1 - The concept proven

GAPI1 is the first algorithm for computing pile-ins. It serves primarily as a proof of concept, that using a genetic algorithms works to discover pile-in strategies. GAPI1 kicks off the project to develop a more sophisticated and robust A.I. that can handle more complex pile-ins, and adheres to the game's rules and physical nature more closely. It's available here: http://tools.druchii.net/AoS-Genetic-Pile-In.php         The algorithm of GAPI1 Like any g

Slightly more colorful dinosaur

After some searching for images of lizard color patterns, I thought I would try a line of different colored scales down his side. Not terribly wide, but a variety of colors. The end result is probably more like stained glass coloration than I expected, but I think it adds some color to a fairly drab scheme. He still leaves most of the color saturation on the base and with the rider, so maybe I'll paint the ornaments and see what I think after that. Teeth and claws still need color too,

A day late

Sameul and Yoan are Fides Pressors, a type of warrior monk, hunters through faith. Their eyesight and those of other Fides Pressors, has been taken, in battle say some, by the god, Kurnath, say others, and even others say Sigmar took their eyes as punishment for being unfaithful. While the truth lies buried in the past, the brother's abilities do not. With the loss of their eyes, came new talents. The brothers now track and hunt those tainted by chaos and given over to senseless destruction thro

Tzangor Shaman

Earlier on I posted an image of the original Skyfire model I painted. I have finished the Shaman to go with them now as well. This was a super cool model to paint. Came together really quickly and I was really happy with it. I cut a few corners to speed up the painting so areas like the robes are just the undercoat with no touch ups, just a few edge highlights, and there are a lot of areas that are deliberately not painted (under the disc, underside of the robes etc. As this is a relatively quic

AoS28 Flayed Ones Skeletons Idea

Just an old crazy army idea. Inspiration from Necron Flayed Ones. Bringing back to life for AoS28. A quick draft and still a bit of a mess. You may notice that english is not my primary language.   Cursed in Khemri Those enslaved by necromancy obeyed their masters. No minds of their own, moved from desert to the lands they were ordered. Left behind were the minds slowly turning insane. These dead bodies wanted to die but could not. The cruel joke of immortality turne

GAPI - Introduction

What misfortune made you check this blog? Well, now you're here, let me explain what the blog and project is about. GAPI stands for Genetic Algorithm for Pile-Ins. Genetic Algorithms are a form of machine learning (or artificial intellgence). They are particularly suited to find solution where a more intuitive solution to a problem is required. Pile-ins are a key element to Age of Sigmar, where a lot of variables meet. The formation of a unit, the clever use of a piece of terrain, the comba

arrd boy's part 1

It was a busy weekend as it was first with sunshine and temp over 15, so my wife son and I started to do our garden, it is big nice but it looks like a place you could film a apocalypse movie. The last owner did nothing for 5-6 years. So a lot of work of diging talking away the grass ect. As it turned out I did reflect my hobby I did nothing for it... But I still have some ard boys here we go:

Savage Boarboys ready

Being ill during weekend turned out to be very productive hobby wise. All ten savage boarboys are ready. I don't like the ordinary green skin of orruks and wanted to make it reddish-brown. The boars are also brown and I still wanted orruks to stand out, so normal brown wasn't good. After many test models and trying even green colour scheme, I finally got acceptable tint and could carry on. I wanted to add them some aztec-style look (jade green and gold), but just could not get the right ton

Boring dinosaur

I spent a fair bit of time today using blue liner to draw in the scales that had no definition due to injection molding limitation. I also went through and highlighted scales in lighter blue-gray. Now I'm concerned that he's super boring looking. Seriously. I'm going to image search some lizards and see if I can rescue him from gray town.
