    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

Khorne Pure Deamon list????

Been spending quite a bit of time with my nose in the Blades of Khorne book. The more I read it the more I like the idea of Khorne deamons list. Now I have always been a Bloodbound guy but there lack of heavy hitters becomes and issue right off. Blood Thirsters and Hell Cannons with Bloodletters seems like fast fun. Anyone else building 1000 or 2000 point lists around the Deamons? would love to see your list and hear your thoughts on the Deamons of Khorne.

Opinion needed on Khorne Ogroid

I've made this Ogroid a little Khornish and before I go further with it, I'm just looking at what I could run him as. He is big enough to fit a juggernaught profile. I think I like him as a Mighty Lord, but I'd love to know what you'd use him for. Once I know, I'm busting out the green stuff and getting this bad boy going.

Narrative Gaming in the Age of Sigmar

HobbyHammer has been a significant part of developing and bringing the Coalescence event to the wider community, and we would like to share a recent blog post he published that explains narrative gaming in Age of Sigmar. A topic close to my heart, Narrative gaming has of course always been there, through previous editions it has been lost in the aether but has made a huge come back in Age of Sigmar. Games Workshop have really given us an infinite possibility of playing narrative games

How to promote

You have a date and time reserved at a venue for your event. You have decided if you're going to charge entry fees or not and have set up a system for players to register for your event. You're on your way to running an event. But an important part of planning between now and the date of your event is promotion. It's time to get the word out about your event to draw in players! Promotion is all about getting event details out to potential players. Telling all the players in your local gamin

7. Sports Report

Cricket has been formally discarded and all records expunged. That was the announcement at the Extraordinary Meeting held last night, made by the Very Reverend Barnaby after the cricket pitch was once again destroyed by marauding gangs of ghouls, orruks, all manner of undead, and blue horrors. The extra cost of replacing the pitch, coupled with the expense of new floodlights (which, as reported at the previous meeting, is now a prerequisite for entry to the lucrative Twenty20 winter league) has

Gutbuster-centric Destruction list does surprisingly well

So in continuing the trend to highlight how legacy warscrolls are still quite viable, I built a rather nice combination of destruction, focused around the Gutbusters. While there is a Thundertusk from the Beastclaw Raiders included (just one!!), that warscroll was part of the Ogre Kingdoms in 8th before being broken out for the newly updated sub-faction when they got their own battletome, and is still part of the overall Destruction general alliance. Likewise, mixed in are some segments from the

Adepticon 2017 Age of Sigmar Championship

Hello everyone!  I wanted to take this week’s post to run down my games from The Age of Sigmar Championship that I participated in at Adepticon 2017 this year. I decided to take the Stormcast Eternals to the event.  My intention was to take the Warrior Brotherhood, but after the changes that occurred in the new book, it simply wasn't a worthwhile option in my opinion.  With only a limited amount of time to adjust my list, I decided instead to use the Hammerstrike force. Because the Hammerstrike

Update 4 - Varghulf

WIP Varghulf conversion. I tampered with using feathered wings to help with the fluff of it being some kind of wild beast but in the end I felt like membrane wings were a better fit and gives me a chance to mirror the skin tones on its chest. Used a 40k model again which is becoming an unintentional theme.

Dreadwood Wargrove vs Blades of Khorne - a sobering experience

I had a sobering experience yesterday down at the South London Legion - it was my fifth game with my Sylvaneth and my fourth defeat. Admittedly none of these were in a tournament setting. I played against the new Shinies - Blades of Khorne - wielded by John @Gitli I took this list: Allegiance: SylvanethLeadersTreelord Ancient (300)- General- Artefact: Briarsheath - Deepwood Spell: Verdant BlessingTreelord Ancient (300)- Artefact: Moonstone of the Hidden Ways - Deepwood Spell: RegrowthB

Khorne Lord on Giant Fleshhound

I'm working on this Khorne Lord conversions and have a ton of green stuff work to do, but I figured I'd share the progress here. He is made from bits from the Bloodthirster, bloodsecrator, Mighty Lord of Khorne, Lord Cellestant on Dracoth, Skullreapers and Slaughterpriest models!

Battle Report: Border War

Another FEC report because work on my Ironjawz is currently a crawl. Have finished converting the 10 Ardboyz but highlighting the spines on the Maw Krusha is an absolute pain! I apologise for the unfinished Crypt Flayers, I'd very quickly slapped some paint on them for this game as I'd never used them before so they were bottom of my to-do list. Border War Originally we wanted to play a more narrative scenario and maybe try out a time of war, however once we'd gotten around to actually

Ironjawz brutes and comparing them to my first ever Warhammer mini!

Hi guys! I have freshly painted a second unit of brutes for my Ironjawz fo AoS and I'm really happy with how they turned out. However I recently dug out the first model I ever painted which was a Moria Goblin from the fellowship of the ring range and I thought it might be fun to compare the two models to see just how far I have progressed over the years! I think its always good to step back and have a look and see the progress you have made as sometimes it feels like your not prog

post 1st game

So I had my first game at whw on wendsday I lost on points to a death list. Overall I learned that my list is very resilient, I only lost 500 points the problem was I only killed maybe that same and I was very slow. Main things learnt were the glotkin is a bit of a points sink but does puthat out some hurts and buffs well. Be'lakor and the horrors will go for sure as well as festus I'll be adding in sayl another 10 man plauge bearer unit as well as some plauge claws and epidimus will n

Swifthawk Agents - Not all competitive lists are from new releases

Swifthawk Agents and the battalion scroll Guardians of Dawnspire provide a VERY mobile and shooty force that can compete on the very similarly to how old school woods elves did in 8th edition WHFB. They can move in, shoot barages of arrows, wither down your opponents forces to where your close combat units can stand a better chance to measure up, and get out of range for counterattack or even counter shooting. They can move to objectives mid-late game and potentially steal scenarios. Not extreme

How to manage registration

Registration for a small event may seem to be more trouble than it’s worth. If you’re only expecting a few of your usual gaming friends to attend then why bother with formal registration? For an event like Coalescence, or any independent event with online promotion, it’s possible some players beyond your gaming group may decide to drive an hour or more to attend. And without any kind of formal registration you may have many more players than you expected. More players than you had planned f

Building a Community : Part 4

Welcome to Part 4 of my "Building a Community" Series.  If you have missed Part 1, 2 or 3, please check them out in the links below.  Today I want to talk about how I will attempt to bring unity to my local club.   Later this month my local club, Ligonier Legions, will meet as we usually do.  However, instead of setting up immediately for a gaming event, I have set up an open forum to let members determine the future of the group.  After speaking with a few dedicated club members
