I've been hard at work on the army, but my focus is a bit off so I'm going to do some updating and sharing.
I played a game with Paul Conti last night, who quickly turned around and made a YouTube Batrep out of it.
So I came home last night, and started getting some finishing work done on the Endrinriggers. I'm going to put a bit of freehand nose art on them all, then glue them so they'll stay for good
Quick post today to show my paint scheme. I've almost got it as I imagined...though I've still got my work cut out for me as far as creating the clouds goes. I envision swirling clouds, with some parts of it dark blue/green and black with veins of yellow (aethergold) coming through. I'm still working on that, I spent some time last night dyeing cotton and just couldn't get it to come out right.
The other thing I was going to do was swirling reds and oranges in the 'chamber' of the guns, but
So I think I mentioned earlier the influence for my army:
So I had some things to think about. How am I going to do cloud basing? How do I make the ships look lived in? How am I going to come up with those tentacles?
I've come up with some solutions (I hope!). So far, I've got the tentacles sorted at least for the smaller bases. The ships are going to require bigger and better tentacles and other cool bits and bobs. I'll cross that bridge when I get there, but I'v
I'm going to be making a Barak-Mhornar Fleet, and I couldn't be more excited. That's saying something for an excitable gamer! Since we had heard rumors of a Dwarf Blimp back in 8th Edition I'd been saving money to start The Fleet. I've also threatened to sell all my armies if they brought back Squats to 40k, but that may turn out to be an idle threat
So I've got the vision for Barak-Mhornar, the Pirate City. My Fleet will be focussed on the art and trade of Brewing, with a secret itinerary:
