Well the stone spear from rumor engine is a spear for one of the new beastmen in the warband, so not bonesplitterz.

So new faction right? We saw Zarbag's for Underworlds before we saw Gloomspite. The question is when.

I'm going to guess January 2020.

Early Oct 2018 for Zarbags gits, 4th Jan for Gloomspite. So 3 months-ish?

Blood Bowl lizards - big thumbs up

Aeronautica - looks fun, ah there models on the same scale as Adeptus Titanicus you think or not at all? Anyway looks fun and the kind of game I'd be into, now fingers crossed it does well and next year they do a ship version for AoS.

New Beasts - Like the BoC models though tbh I'd actually prefer them to be much more beastlike, especially with something like a WHU set, I wanted to see lots of different animals mixed up, so lion headed beasts, bull beasts etc etc. Still cool.

Very excited about the Kurnothi as that's totally something I can get behind, I get what people are saying about the poses though, they don't leap out at me (ironically). But will be interesting to see different angles.

Paint scheme is fine for me though, the orange hair is a nod right back to the really early (and possibly later too I guess) Wood Elves being essentially, what we mistakenly think of as, Celts so I get the why's and wherefores.

Actually not a fan of the Kurnothi, and the Beastmen are alright, but no more than that.

The Lizardmen are the big winners for me here.

Kurnothi are really cool and I would like to get a full army of them. My first impression was also "Fyreslayers hairstyle" aelves. I will defenitely choose a different color for them if they get a full release or if I buy Beastgrave.

I honestly feel like something totally derailed Darkoath behind the scenes, like the whole faction concept got eaten up into Warcry and the release shifted back a year.

I have no interest in Beastgrave as a game but love both of the starting warbands for this season, especially the Kurnothi.  Way cooler to me than any of the Warcry teams.

Hoping they do a Warcry version of these guys with more models and variation and then a full AoS army.  I think the poses are ok, I think the photography foreshortens some of them but I bet they will look awesome in person.

I am torn on pulling in Wanderers.  I would love for them to be a wholly stand alone force with maybe a combo battalion to pull in Wanderers easily but I do like the direction of AoS steadily distancing itself from the world that was and typical fantasy tropes with all new armies.  The more they are tied to old-school forces from the world that was the more the designers' hands and imaginations are tied.

Regarding someone who mentioned pulling back in the Sylvaneth, please no.  I am reading the new Tome right now and I love them as they are.  I am not that far into it but they do not mention Wanderers at all in the origin of the Sylvaneth. Allariele wandered alone after being awoken by Sigmar and out of isolation created a new race of her own.  Some of the race had visual traces back to the "protectors" from the world that was that remained in Allariele's memories but they don't mention them in the origins so I am more than happy for them to exist completely on their own.

Of course there's also the chance that Wanderers won't exist at all and the Kurnothi will be a whole new "Beastelf" faction.

So many warbands have been made to battletomes and vice versa so this would not surprise me a bit if they make battletome Wand...I mean Kurnothi

I like the beasts well enough, but for someone who has been longing for a more feral/savage wood elf faction for a long time, the Kurnothi are just not doing it for me. I like the centaur quite a bit, but the other ones not so much. The armor makes them look like they belong in Blood Bowl, the satyr legs are too aesthetically similar to beastmen, and the big orange hair is just not my jam. I like the most recent Wardancer sculpts and really dislike the older versions, so I think that probably sums it up for me. Do we really need more than one big orange hair faction?

To me, what makes the idea of a "beast elves" faction compelling is the uncomfortable contrast between grace and savagery -- and these models look neither graceful nor savage (except the centaur). The posing feels very stiff, the proportions seem weird, and the savagery is heavily deflated by the sense that they've spent more time styling their hair than training for battle.

ALL THAT BEING SAID, I do think that the overall aesthetic is a really nice accomplishment if what they were trying to do was to bring back the old wardancer look and make it new. They definitely did that in spades, it's just not my thing.

As usual, nice minis.

But....

My feeling is mostly negative because I'm a bit fed up of all those specialist GW games. I understand perfectly the GW strategy which is becoming a big company . They have to make perpetual growth and to increase their income, they can't count on only 2 mainstream games. Saling more boxes is good for the business but we are loosing a bit what make us love this company and their fantastic miniatures/lore.

I have to disagree with this, considering they are creating lore for these specialist games that ties into the larger respective universes. Underworlds especially, has the ability to show us new factions or minis that will make it into AOS too.

I was expecting Beasts of Chaos, but not Sylvaneth vs BOC starter box. I was certain they would put another Stormcast warband in there.

New Saurus/Skinks/Slann designs are cool, I hope it's a sign of things to come.

How is more models/games losing what ‘makes us love this company’?

They mention massive saurus, i wonder if they are making them larger. So far saurus are hunchback shorties

The new lizardmen look great, but I wish they'd made them for AoS rather than Bloodbowl. Hopefully I can convert some of the models to have fewer anachronistic elements, but the shorts on the Skinks just ruin the models for all non Bloodbowl purposes alas!

Zarbag's gitz are moonclan. All of the unit types in that warband already existed. Moonclan already existed. Gloomspite was a new book that incorporated Moonclan. Not really sure why you are comparing the two... Who knows if this new warband will even lead to a full faction. Could be something new they are trying (It is after all the first example of a warband that doesn't exactly belong to an existing army)

To be fair the Sepulchral Guard did not have a home until Legion of Grief came out this year and the Darkoath warband still uses the STD keyword to be playable, plus Mollog squigs are just experiments without units in AoS so there’s no exact direct connection between WU and AoS. I agree with last comment, it could be an experiment to try something new, like Warcry. If it was a new faction would be interesting considering as someone commented here long ago, the inflation of Aelves in AoS :)

Not considering Cities of Sigmar, Kurnothi would be the the 5th known full faction of Alves after DoK, IDK, light  aelves and shadow aelves. Aelves 5 - Dwarves 3? Lol

On another note they did show more new miniatures at GenCon that in the AoS preview 2 weeks ago :)

love them anyway, I think it’s a good change of pace and even if not usable in AoS they are alternative poses and maybe one day be integrated in Warcry for unique models.
