that makes this even weirder... they could've teased the book cover and said a quick "we'll learn about the plot later this year"

GW's 'reasoning' would be the excuse, not saying the person's theory is making excuses for GW if that makes sense. idk it's extremely frustrating that 40k already has two days, BL legit being a 3rd 40k day means I am no longer excited for tomorrow's specialty reveals.

The worrying thing is at the end of the warcom article they say to tune in tomorrow for more 40K.... now I know this could be a mistake, and it could of course just mean some 40K boxed game news as well which you know they have games, but after tonight feels like it could end up being 4 40K days.... which just takes some of the steam out of my excitement :( I hope I’m wrong

For a long time I thought I would dive all in when they finally did AoS high elves. Then it happened and I realized the Lumineth didn’t give me the same jou as classic high elves did. Don’t wait for something that might happen. It might not turn out to be what you hoped for.

I'm loyal to my king. If Malerion is in the faction, I'll be happy. It's not like I'm sitting around, I'm playing games, just not AoS.

Also, I agree with those who think Malerion and Morathi could be on the same faction, to mirror Teclis/Tyrion and maybe Arielle/Orion. It's just funny because much like the post I quoted... I'd be more interested in the Malerion/Tyrion/Orion half! But if I knew for sure that Morathi and Malerion would both be part of the rumored/faked Umbraneth, then I'd start DoK this week!

I know GW likes to keep people in the dark to build hype for things, and it probably works for them. It doesn't work for me though, I'll go back to waiting in the shadows. Always watching.... maybe I'll buy that warcry warband though..

It’s boxed/specialist games so I can see the ‘more 40k’ referring to news for Necromunda, Adeptus Titanicus and/or Aeronautica Imperialis, but then it will most likely come with more WHU stuff (almost certainly the Idoneth warband) and Blood Bowl.

Cursed City might have been on the cards too once, though I have my doubts now.

I'd say it all comes to execution. If the minis are great even Johann's faction could be a bestseller. If the minis are bad even the best concept can be a failure.

Executions are great....wait that came out wrong....

I am simply not sure that Skaven are that popular.

Underworlds is one of the banners and the Idoneth warband are almost certain to be at least teased.

I take the lack of any Black Library AoS news as good news. To me it says the line of books are too intrinsically linked to how big a change Kragnos is bringing. I’d imagine we’ll see more about books regarding AoS soon after the AoS 3 announcement, and I hope dearly, that it’s Saturday.

I’m hyped about an Orc Hobgoblin Khanate and I’ll blame every single one of you when it’s not a thing.

On a side note, and I hope this doesn’t come across as mean, only observational....But Wade Pryce could play  a Bond Villain quite effortlessly with his voice. Something about his tone and super calm demeanour says “Seceret evil lair in the Alps” 🤷🏻‍♂️

To be fair, Broken Realms started with Morathi reaching godhood. Not to mention that, while she's definitely gone through some lows (especially near the beginning of Age of Sigmar) she's always actually been a pretty big player, and debatably a bigger player than Malekith (not so much in power but in her influence to the world) in the world that was by virtue of her manipulation and ancient age.

Bold claim

Here is one quote for you

“There are many gods, but only one King in the Shadow. Give deference to shadows, for there walks Malerion.”

I feel like the people who are actually upset about Stormcast are mostly 40k players with PTSD. They can't separate the fact that Sigmar's lads aren't the space marines of fantasy.

Stormcast have but two main problems:

1) Their range is so expansive it's nigh impossible to figure out what you should buy.
2) So far the rules writers haven't honed in on how they should play on the tabletop. They should be absolute killers. The epitome of "elite" soldiery. Instead, all of their combat guys suck and the only thing they have going for them are bows.

So true.  Hated the very concept of "Sigmarianes" when AoS was announced but it was a combination of my 40K PTSD and my dislike of the End Times.

I believe GW has found the balance with the Stormcast where they are one the main headliners for AoS without being shoved down our throats.  In fact I have grown to like the Golden Boys, wouldnt play them myselves but some of the best games I have played of AoS was with them on the other side of the table.

All those players playing vermintide, the most played faction in total war warhammer 2 being Skaven,

the antagonist in many aos and old fantasy novels,

Being the main unappreciated heroes and enemies in many stories.

The reason why every single faction is still alive, the reason why the end times happened at the first place, the reason archaon is still alive (although we’re still working on an alternative)

the reason why the hated Storm-things will soon die-die and get replaced by the true children of true chaotic power!! (unlike every other race following the other lesser gods),

being the most iconic faction in all of games workshops history,

being the only real highfantasy sci-fi, steampunk.... let me correct that:” warppunk”, faction in the wholesome of aos.

Those are definitely not reason why

The skaven are still in the game.

Yeah skaven are so unpopular (being extremely ironic, while laughing in a madly agonizing way), certainly all that negative squeak-news, isn’t just from those 51%
(Or if you wanna know it correctly: 51.135135135135135135135135135135135135136%) of still metal/failcast/ monkey models remaining in the faction.

I saw a suggestion that the next AoS novels will relate to the events of the new edition, so they're holding back from previewing them as it'll give the game away for what's happening next.

I really really really hope this is the case. Because honestly the BL day was one I was really looking forward to and I am shocked that there was absolutely nothing for AOS. So hopefully that means Saturday we will have a bunch of AOS novels and 3.0 announced!!

pretty sure this was High elves

Correct. Going down the Achievement list, Skaven are the lowest in terms of the four base campaign's Achievements and even some DLC and TW1 races overtake them. High Elves outstrip them all.

Skaven are like Sisters of Battle - they're memed and vocal, but there's not actually that many of them until a big revamp comes.

Comparing highelfs with skaven, skaven are basically outnumbering  them with dlcs.

That really must mean something,

and at the same time it is kinda hilarious and sad how the skaven currently have gotten more content through a game then through the actual makers of that race

Yeah their bigfest problem is basically the overcosted modelline (acolytes for example) and bad looking models.

most people who begin an army will often get off put by  badly and too extremely costed models, and I haven’t yet met many people who just began the hobby and were from the start interested in converting models, Even experienced player will sometimes more often keep a distance from that word

Good evening again

I am realy hyped about Saturday and the speculation with the Bretonian Stormcast Chamber ( I would love to beginn with them in a starter Set as a first Army ) and if you think about the Bretonian Knights reforged as Stormcasts they do make a lot of Sense as a fitting Army to fight against some new Force of Destruction. Because the Bretonian Kingdom is totaly Lost and now there is a Enemy in form of Kragnos and maybe his new Force ( The speculated Hobgoblins ) which are the embodiment of the end of Empires. Also Bretonian Knighst were known for their Quests and slaying a Beast like Kragnos would be a epic Goal for a Quest🤔

We don't need another Skaven DLC in Total war Warhammer. Removal of the entire faction (or all 50 of them, they have a LOT of starting positions) would be preferable to even more dev time wasted in making the life of non-rat players more miserable.

I like your thinking and it’s what I’m thinking, however I’m not expecting AOS3 on Saturday. I’m not expecting that until after the Kragnos book is out. Personally I’m hoping for Warhammer Old World or Horus Heresy

Stormfiends, verminlords and Thanquol missing (+Skreech Verminking)... I'm afraid one last Skaven lord pack in Game 3 is extremely likely.
