See, I think the problem was the first Advent calendar was too scattered as when the countdown ended, nothing was revealed except for Gluttos and you were left with a lot of rumor engines that took forever to be solved. it felt like it didn't lead to anything when it was said and done.

last year's Advent calendar I felt was better because it led to something concrete at the end (eldritch omen). it was just that it was all 40K and obviously, all the RE belong to Eldar and CSM and the mystique wasn't there.

the best way to have done it was to have RE that belongs to all the different systems but have still have all the engines be revealed on Christmas day.

I just don't care about the Advent Rumour Engines at all. They're either painfully obvious and they might as well reveal the model, or they're so vague that the speculation feels more tiresome than hype building.

Personally I'd rather they 'build up' to a full model, which is either revealed at the end of the week or all on Christmas Eve/Day - if they had to do an Advent Calendar at all.

Absolutely on point models for me!!!! Day one purchase. It seems the snarlfang are the same model assets but the riders seem a bit more realistic in the face.  These are amazing imo!! Hopefully a lot of options for heads and gear. 

Ill have to add some armor to some rockguts to make them more cohesive visually. It would be wonderful to get another unit or two for them when the tome drops. Doubtful that It will be infantry but a chariot or artillery piece would be cool. Or hell, gitmob, bring along a new type of trogg to your raiding parties. 

Absolutely adore these guys. 

 

And this little fella with the shroom blow pipe 🤩 oh man!!!

If they update the basic grots im hoping these replace their bows as a ranged option!!

Im going to look to far into a simple Like reaction and confer that @Whitefang Like reacting means a new Troggoth of the Armoured variety!! 

PS in all seriousness I would LOVE an armoured Troggoth.

While i am rather sad that the BoC and World Eaters didn't get anything more, i must say that the new chaos demi  god for 40k looks great, i have been wanting the lesser warp entities to have some bigger part to play than just be background filler. Looks like it is the end of the 1:1 shared ratio deamons between the settings now with Vashtorr and the Twins in each their respective setting.

But the Grot warband stole the show, it is amazing in all regards

Pls let this be the surprise unit they add to the gitz

Snarlfangs are amazing sculpts, I'm glad they've not changed the design from the WHU. Hopefully it's a kit that lends itself to multiple poses, as I'll be wanting at least 10 of them. 

The wicker banner is such a nice touch (and easier to paint for someone like me who is ****** at making flat banners look good)

It's not AoS and might just be the excitement of the recent StD release, but that Mech Demi-God looks amazing the more I look at it.

I'm still waiting on the Grombrindal model and Fyreslayer wave he Like'd about a year ago.

There is a difference in whitefang liking a comment because it is a hint of things to come out because he just liked what was said. Some say it's the same difference between the fyreslayers models, which means we will never know for sure what kind of like he gave us!

Yeah I remember he liked the idea of dwarf soup tome as a concept but it wasn’t something he was hinting was going to happen as why we had a whole community split on soup tome before the fyreslayer book came out

A fun preview, but sad for my beastmen.  Only one model, and given the track record for AOS so far, expecting nothing further.

Not really sure if GW has a plan for all of the finecast in AOS at this point as there hasn't really been any evidence that they intend to remove it or phase it out.

I expect gloomspite to get a nighthaunt sized release (so another kit or 2, one of which will be a character).

They did mention several releases though. It is also very un-GW-like to show everything at once unless a massive leak forces their hand. They probably do not want to distract from the S2D release either. Personally, I wasn't even expecting another chaos release so close to S2D for the same reason. To that end, I was pretty excited to hear that the release is happening early 2023.

I am also quite keen on learning about how the ambush tactics will play out in practice.

While I'm cautious to hope for anything more than the re-done beastlord model, I am very interested to see what GW does with the BoC rules.

The improvement to the Beast Lord rules is fine, but the fact that during the stream they said he can also chain activate with other units makes his ability much more appealing, both from a functional and narrative perspective (one beastlord isn't likely to lay down that much hurt, but paired with a unit that is buffed with +1 to hit and wound, that has some potential. It also encourages you to get the Beastlord stuck in with other heroes, which is exactly what you would expect him to do based on the lore.)

Far too early to say how the BoC rules will pan out, but this is at least encouraging.

I do think this 40k revamp is warranted though. Since AOS has started 7-8 years ago I feel it has gotten the majority of releases. Revamps of old models and lines and a ton of brand new faction. I don’t personally play 40k but felt a lot of their models were outdated. So, I feel this year or so is 40k heavy and dersvingly so. I think it will bounce back to AOS at some point. 
 

Overall, the game and game system is in a solid place. Their are tons of options for armies, models and rules. I think over time we will see the changes so much of us want, but it just takes time.

They specifically label the Snarlfang as part of the Gitmob, of course they always have been, but it'd be rather strange to just have one random Gitmob unit with no synergy to anything else. 

I really hope there's more to come!

They would have to be a very, very good standalone unit if they had no synergies with Gloomspite keyworded stuff.

The lightning fast turnaround on Kill Team: Shadowvaults and now War Cry: Sundered Fate has me raising an eyebrow. Wonder if the first boxes were meant to release earlier in the year, or if these are turning up early? 

I'll probably grab some of the Horns of Hashut dice and warband. Anything else would be a blasphemy to the Father of Darkness and we need to send GW the right signals.
