  1. I find myself in a similar place to you. I haven't quite given up on AoS yet, but it's definitely a distant second in my focus. I completely understand the appeal of a crunchy game. There's just someone I love about a big complex ruleset with lots of options to sink my teeth into.
  2. I think Irondrakes stand out as a very good unit, generally taken in 5s with a Champion with a Trollhammer Torpedo. Cannons are much finished from older editions of WHFB, but a BS 5 mini cannon for 36 points is pretty good (and it's not like his four mates with Drakeguns are bad). Irondrakes are also nasty enough in combat that a lot of skirmishers, fast cav and other traditional weak target hunters might not be able to reliable near them. Cinderblast Bombs on the Champ help here, since they can be used to Stand and Shoot and D6+1 Strength 5 AP -1 attacks (plus the 4 Drakeguns Attacks) will likely put a fair dent of Combat Res into the event before the fighting Even really begins). Gyrocopters seem almost necessary as the only fast thing Dwarfs get. Don't be afraid to charge line wizards with them D3 Impact Hits, 2 Strength 4 attacks and Toughness 5 with a 4+ Save makes you pretty likely to win combat against most mages (be careful of Chaos Sorcerers, Bray Shamans etc., who are no joke on combat). At the very least you'll tie up their ability to cast and dispel to some extent.
  3. Yeah, I wouldn't expect AoS 4th to monopolise releases for more than a month. It'll dominate for Summer, but GW will still fit in other games.
  4. Bretonnian and Tomb Kings Arcane Journals are (at a few moments before writing this) back in stock in the UK webstore, if anyone wants to try to grab them before they disincorporate.
  5. I can't remember. Was it the Nuln Landship? I know it's unlikely, but if like to see some of the really old Empire plastic kits redone. State Troops, Free Company Militia, Knights and Flagellants are all really showing their age. If I had to pick one I'd most like to see redone, it'd be Knights as (a) that horse mini is so old (1991) and (b) having options in the kit to model different orders (at least KotWW, but others would be cool) and Inner Circle would be great.
  6. I'm hoping they keep the whole civil war angle, and give us some interesting stuff around that. In particularly, flesh out Talabecland (Middenland is already likely, and Reikland is kinda the default). Let's learn more about what those Taal worshipping woodsmen are like!
  7. I unsubscribed back when the Only Hands thing happened (asking with an email me m to GW making it chat that's why I had). I can't say I was ever that impressed by the contents though. Some of the animated pieces were decent, but I mostly subscribed for the free mini. I get the feeling it has probably been a bit of a failure on GW's side, and now they have their agreement with Amazon they'll likely slowly wind it down.
  8. Yeah it'll be interesting to see what they do for the Armies of Infamy. I could see them bugging the current trend if only including two, and doing four, one for each God, perhaps with some "official" daemons. Alternatively maybe they'll be more creative. Fleshed out spell lores would be great too. Agreed. That's what I'd like to see, but I'm not holding my breath.
  9. I've circled what I think are the KO and FS accessories. The belt is perfectly acceptable as any Dwarf thingy. I guess the KO accessories are a bit techy, but I don't think they are out of place.
  10. I still can't work out what the distinct KO and FS accessories are supposed to be 😆 He ain't staying on that base in TOW anyway, so no worries on that front.
  11. At least one Dwarf is going to be released relatively soon. Looks like a good basis for a Dwarf character. Not sure why they aren't giving him TOW legends rules (actually I know exactly why).
  12. Put it in the book! Eventually you will gain the Hatred (Games Workshop) special rule 😆
  13. I'm 99% certain they won't release any new kits in metal. The Bretonnian foot character was an old sculpt, so an exception, but at this stage I think anything newly sculpted for TOW will be plastic it, more likely, FW resin.
  14. My guess for BoC is an O&G style release i.e. no new plastics at all, a couple of new resin characters (one named, one generic). I get the distinct impression GW have labeled them as an unpopular faction (why else would AoS willingly drop them from their range rather than keeping them as a dual system faction like S2D is in all but name). Hopefully I'm wrong though. If I were being more optimistic, I could see GW releasing a plastic Tuskgor/Razorgor Chariot kit that can also construct a character on foot and, if you decide to go with Tuskgors, can be used to assemble Razorgors as a standalone unit. That replaces an old resin kit, gives official support to one that is currently unsupported, and gets rid of the awful Razorgor mini, plus gives an extra character option. I didn't we'll get a plastic unit, but if I'm wish listing I'll say that if like to see Centigors get plastic sculpts (also Gors, but that ain't going to happen). As for WoC, I think they're decently likely to get some plastic releases because I think they're viewed as a fairly popular faction (of the "evil" factions perhaps the most popular). I don't think we'll see Asavar Kul, I think he'll come later in a campaign book. I also doubt they'll recreate in plastic anything which has an AoS counterpart (Lord on Daemonic Mount for example), though I could see resin versions that fit TOW bases better. For plastic, I think a paired character kit with a Chaos Steeds and the ability to build a battle standard seems likely (hopefully a Champion and Wizard, both who can either ride the Steed or be on foot, and the Champion can be given a banner) as that covers an obvious gap in the range. We'll get at least one named character (probably in resin), but I could see the Arcane Journal containing five (one for each mark) with more than one getting a mini at this stage. I could see a Chaos Dragon kit: it's be a popular enough lot amongst collectors that it could justify the cost. I kinda doubt we'll get any plastic unit kits though. Chaos is very well served by AoS and whilst officially the two shall never meet, I think there's a tacit understanding that people will but AoS stuff to use in their armies anyway. Maybe Forsaken will be given a facelift? Of course they might introduce entirely new stuff in the Arcane Journal, and whilst so far they've expect that to be handled with conversions, they might buck that trend and release a kit. I think WoC are far more likely to get a plastic unit kit than BoC. Of course this is all speculation. I think all that we can fairly safely say is we'll get resin characters for both 😄
