wouldn't that conversely ****** KO and them getting models as well.

I feel like this approach screwed both Bonesplitterz and Spiderfang as well in the past

It may have screwed bonesplitterz but it saved spiderfang. If they weren't in Gitz they were gonna be squatted. That said I still see spiderfang stuff sell out pretty often on the webstore and they're being featured in Kragnos.

While I sorta agree with your point, it wouldn't hurt to get a ranged/specialist unit, just for variety's sake. Their current roster is kind of small and bland, which isn't great since they are the face of GA:Destruction. I am saying nothing like proper Archers, but maybe short ranged Ardboyz throwing rocks or axes.

Edit: And maybe a plastic Rogue Idol made from fortresses they torn down.

From a hobby perspective more cool models is always good, but from an army design and narrative standpoint ranged Ironjawz don't really belong. If it's just circumstantial ranged attacks (like troggoth pukes and fyreslayer axes) that are more like extensions of melee combat that use a ranged profile that's fine though.

"My studies have identified many locations within Ghur that begin with the letter ‘T’, and despite the details bound within the image, I could glean no useful information as to who or what might dwell there."

This is a grot hand.

In order: 40k grot hand, loonboss on mangler hand, savage orruk hand, brute hand.

Its closest to the 40k grot hand, but its not that surprising that moonclan would be a bit less muscular.

Also as for our rumored additional orc release at some point I wonder if Beast snaggas are going to have aos options/upgrade kits similar to tzaangors.

If this new army has gitmob (or even just the snarlfang riders) in it's an auto buy for me.

I hope not,i know people dont like soup tomes but i love them.

I am not a fantasy player that is playing citys because i have the old minis.

I am a new player that love the city soup concept because i get bored fast building and painting the same minis. So city is a heaven in this,i have msu units of dark elfs, high elfs, collegiate, wanderers and many dwarfs.

So if they divide the tome in separate armys i wont play anymore because i only gonna have as 600 points of every army

Disspossessed 1300

Dark elfs 600

High elfs 500

Free people 500

Collegiate 500

Ironweld 150

Wanderers 200

That is my list,so i think the situation is diferent that leguion of nagash, because as the 70% of lon is now vampires but if they do the same with city it gonna be a disaster and i hope never happen

Soup is cool if it fits... soup is not cool if e.g. Ironjawz are said to kinda despise their lesser kin and suddenly they share a battletome with their most primitive relatives out of all orruks. Make zero sense. And it's not like people really mix and match those two subfactions either. I know the battletome is all in all in a decent spot but when I read that there's no room for new IJ units because the current ones work well together and then i play them all the time and see an army of clones, I'm not so sure...

I'm pretty convinced at the moment, based on what we've seen.... and what/ how @Whitefang has responded to a few posts, that we are in fact looking at a few new units for greenskins, and that most (maybe all) greenskins will be rolled back into a single Battletome. .... Battletome greenskins / Battletome Orcs & Goblins. I also wouldn't be surprised if this included the Gloomspite Gitz.

I'm not sure how i'd feel about this.... but... It's possible that a unified book will allow for more unique choices and flexibility, and that has to be a good thing right?

unless it's a core book sized battletome then it'd be pretty safe to say that it would allow for less flexibility and unique choices. even though i'm planning on expanding my army with units that aren't in the gg battletome and such a solution would benefit me personally greatly i just don't see it happening looking at the difference between these factions, especially gg and orruks. a normally sized battletome that would soup greenskinz into one book in my opninon would water down all these different flavours of our favourite mushrooms and i don't think anyone would like that

EDIT: oh and also i think if that were the case it would just overcomplicate things

Depends sometimes for newer player is best not to have so many choices to overwhelm people.  City is nortorius for this problem as well so not many people recommend them as a gateway army.

Alright, I analysed the map and here's the list.

I wrote down all locations starting with 'The' but think we can pretty much exclude them. Thondia is in big letters as it's the most likely in my opinion - in the 3rd editiom reveal stream they mentioned that Thondia will be the most important of shown regions and also it's sorta where Excelsis is. Feel free to point out any location I possibly missed

even though I want to, thinking we can take off any names beginning with "the" maybe thinking too much of GW...

It’s quite a leap from Whitefangs responses to ‘all greenskins are going to one book’...

Yeah, some sort of tacit acknowledgement that hey, these new guys have the 'orruk' keyword and so can be taken as part of a Big Waagh army seems more plausible. Something like the callout box in the Nighthaunt battletome detailing how its units can be used as part of a Legions of Nagash army.

Looks like a massive bone

Mmm, now you say that you might be right. The paint is pretty thick/rough leaning more towards terrain than a mini.

But the quiver is weird. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Sharing a battletome doesn't actually mean they're any closer or more united narratively than they were before, Orruk Warclans isn't really "Orruk Soup" it's an ironjawz battletome stapled to a bonesplitterz battletome with 2 pages in the middle that say "Big Waaagh!".

I don't see how you could add anything to Ironjawz without it being fat or changing how the entire army functions, and Ironjawz functions well and matches their narrative depictions almost perfectly already. New heroes and new sculpts for old units excluded of course.

I would love the Beast Snaggas to be interchangeable

Honestly the units we're expecting for it (warboss and some squig pig pulled vehicle) make it look an awful lot like an updated greenskinz line. The heroes might not do double duty but everything else looks like it can.

Battletome Greenskinz would be bigger than cities in terms of units I think? I wouldn't be surprised if the new book is an "Orcs and goblins" style book, with the "Krool boyz", gitmob, and maybe spiderfang/grotback scuttlers, combining a lot of more "Morky" elements.

If its a pure goblin faction (with no orruks) I could see a combined grot book that rolls in gloomspite and the new guys, and if its a pure orruk faction (definitely doesn't look like one) it could just be a new warclans.

Because I want gitmob I think it might be the "Orcs and goblins" book with krool boyz and gitmob, and that Beast Snaggas are the orruk release and will slot into warclans.

Its s small preference but i absolutely love that these critters have talons. it always bothered me when grot or orruk models dont have these. 👍

On another note i love the teaser pic everyday. Its like being in a new relationship and getting one of those random naughty pics... 😎 Oh yeah..  Im going to play this faction so hard... 😄

I think the quiver is from the Bone Splittaz

Ah yes, you may be right. Not opened my box so these are still "new" to me... I still think of the Perry versions when I think of Savage Orcs. Good spot.

Excitement over ;)

EDIT: mmm, I don't know it is you know. Its similar but the arrows are shorter, don't have the horizontal bit on the fletching or the studs on the Savage Ork sprue.

I think it is pretty clear from what Whitefang's said that Kroolboyz will be part of the Warclans.

There's been no suggestion from any trustworthy quarter that we're going to see an expanded Gloomspite Gitz with the Kroolboyz, or that Gitz and Warclans are going to be merged together.

Spicy take -

Legion of Azgorh being canned by FW but Chaos Dwarves appearing again in lore seems like a deadset that we'll see Chaos Dwarves return in plastic, and I'll put good money they'll appear alongside the Battletome Duardin-Soup for a nice 'Dwarf v Spikey Dwarf' box.

And if I'm a betting man, Q1/Q2 2022.

I've been saying this since Nurgle unleashed COVID on us, but all I got were laughs, if this is truly the case I am gonna have a field day.
