Priests of Ulric and that already without their arcane journal. Cool :)

edit: what would be the difference between slayers and slayers of legend?

Guessing it's a catch-all term for the Slayer Heroes and Lords (Daemonslayer, Dragonslayer, etc), whereas Slayers refers to the unit.

I can't speak to Tome Kings as I know almost nothing about them.

Personally I like that GW are making Brettonia a good faction and having a clearer divide.

No one has to be perfect, but I don't like that most of the GW lore seems to be about making factions bad, badder and, worse.

Even Stormcast in AoS went from shining golden heroes to soulless killers by 2.0.

Having everyone be "morally grey" doesn't immediately make a setting better or more mature.

Bretonnia being more 'Good' defined wouldn't be a problem if, like others have mentioned, they were not positioned against undead-Egyptians and randomly invading Nehekara (on top of the serfdom issue). Even the new novel has such a wild premise--why would TK even abduct a noble's kid? What was the kid doing there?? etc. TK have a bit more going for them being 'Evil' but it still feels like a forced distinction. Like TK don't need to be made 'Evil' in order to make Bretonnia more 'Good.'

I wholeheartedly agree on disliking GW's insistence on making factions worse rather than making them feel...... like a living faction. It's why I'm nervous about 4e, Stormcast, and COS. This could honestly be it's own thread bc "morally grey" in Warhammer tends to lose the plot for the sake of ~grimdark~ and often feels more like a teenager's idea of mature.

"Jonathan: The approaches, techniques, and tools for painting have changed massively, but so has the photography. The way we took photos back in the 90s was different, and new digital photography is much brighter and crisper, which demands things painted to a different standard."

If this guy's surname ever leaks he's getting chinned on his own doorstep by Mike McVey

I know what people mean about the grimdarkness. I like the grubby, short-and-brutish perspective of WFRP, and I like that Warhammer Elves have some Moorcockian tendency towards decadence/madness to differentiate somewhat from the slightly tedious Mary-Sue like nature of (main canon) Tolkien elves. But some of the later "everyone's the bad guy!" stuff (Wood Elves kidnapping/murdering human children for lols etc) felt a bit shoehorned in and tedious to me.

is there a confirmed base size for the tomb kings sphinxes?  are they on 50 x 100, or 60 x 100?

is the casket of souls coming back?  if so, what base size?  it would look ridiculous on a massive 100x150, but it's too wide for any of the smaller official base sizes that were listed.  it really wants to be on, like, an 80x80 square, but that doesn't seem to be an option.

are the 25x50 mm cavalry bases /actually/ 25mm wide now, or are they using the old gw cav bases that were closer to like 23.5 mm wide, a difference that becomes rather obnoxious on unit trays that don't account for it?

Sphinxes on 60x100. Casket is as it was before using its footprint as its base.

And I guess we’ll see about the 25x50

Unfortunately, no sign of the Heirotitan, though maybe it’ll be under the Necrolith Colossus entry. *huffs copium*

there will be no heirotitan.  I don't need any leaks to know that.  GW no longer publish rules for models they don't make, and if there were a new plastic bone giant kit coming out that covered both units we'd have seen it by now.

The official line, if hierotitans are mentioned at all, will be 'run it as a colossus', same as with the TK compendium from 1e AoS.

Likewise there won't be rules for Arkhan, if anything just a note to run him as a high lich priest on foot, or maybe as a high priest on bone draggon if you've modeled him on his old flying four horse chariot.

Does this means the new plastic kit for Chaos Warriors is going to be Chaos Hounds with Handlers ? Curious.

BTW, no Mutalith / Big Red monster for Woc lists, nor Chaos Warshrine ??

Not entirely true, the horus heresy has plenty of rules for unreleased minis, less so these days but it still happens. I can see the old world having rules without models, being a specialist games product.

I'm curious about bull centaur base sizes and what units are making it in. Never thought I'd see the word "tomorrow" used for anything related to Chaos Dwarfs.

I'm guessing it'll be what units were in the Legion of Azgorh list, since I believe they mentioned if a unit had 8th Edition rules it would probably get rules in some form.

I doubt they'll go back to the 6th Ed list until it's time for them to be in-focus again.
