The Rumour Thread

Which is odd because the price would suggest GW is targeting existing customers with a higher price on a mid-game set of components which add to the game rather than being a 2.0 launch or such. Yet they are bundling the original rules and some of the older terrain into the set which would suggest that they are targeting new customers with the contents. So the price and contents are a bit at odds with each other.

One hope is that GW didn't wait too long to get the individual parts of the last boxed set out on sale. In fact the last box sold out pretty fast online and then the individual components appeared soon after. Plus its likely to get a positive reception on ebay and the like so if there's only a few bits you want you might well be able to pick up what you desire from split kits.

Personally I'm tempted to do that for two sets of the DoK warband rather than go all in with the boxed set (or more - hopefully we get some hint as to their DoK rules not just their warcry rules so that we can get an idea if they are a large unit in the game or even if they are specialist unit). In the other warbands they were chaff units for Slaves to Darkness; the lore for the DoK team though makes them sound more elite (expensive in points) rather than a "Chaff" unit that you buy in bulk to throw at the enemy .

This fits with Necromunda. The second starter box of that is €230, which can hardly be described as a starter price. Though that does come with better terrain than the original.

I think the biggest strike on the box is the lack of chaotic beast that was in the first box

Yeah! Raptoryxes would function as a feathered dromeosaur for Dinoriders as well. Still haven't purchased a box, but maybe I should.

Did they ever release all the terrain from the old warcry box? I picked up the two ruin sets, but don't think I've ever seen the broken head, spikes or bridges separately. Looks like some of that could be in here, but clearly not all of it.

No, that scenery was available in different sprues and you can find some even in the Mortal Realms subscription but there’s no one simple way to get exactly the content of the old starter set

It's from Death, that's all that matter.

Yes,the bars seems definetly bones but they used a dark paint to color them.

I think that is some sort of vampire based army with nobles as HQ,some fully transformed vampire(we can see the leg in a RE) and half-transformed villagers as a troop.

for what little it's worth the chain on that is exactly the same kind of chain as on the Oct 6 RE.

like a total saddo I've just looked through the obvious factions to see if any of them already have similar chain links, but all the current death models have more rounded chains, Orruks have square chains, Ogors more blunt chains, grotz more spikes chains.

Edit... ahhh beaten to it by @Inferno
