  1. Increasing Nagash is a joke. Nighthaunt still need tons more drops. There's no way Mourngul should cost more (or even the same) as a Verminlord Warpseer. Spirit Hosts seems to have been forgotten by GW. They need to go down if Namarti Thralls are gonna be 130/360. I mean we're on 50mm bases for cryin out loud. Nighthaunt getting punished for Legions using Grimghasts is gonna sour a lot of people who bought into NH. I know it did for me. My army needs help and it's getting punished because someone else's army is using my units WAY more effectively than my book allows.
  2. Mounrgul is listed on the last page of the Pitched Battle Profiles. Its replacing the Monstrous Arcanum Forgeworld used to put out. Seeing as they stopped working on AOS rules. It's down to 280, which is a real joke.
  3. I have watched the gmg video and seen all the points changes. Either GW intends to go to 3 month updates, or they are wildly out of touch with how the game is played. New books aside (FEC, Skaven, Gitz, Khorne) they are changing things to adapt to a game over 6 months old. Nagash 100% did not need to go up, nor the necromancer. Longstrikes went down?!?!? Who thought that needed to happen? All the old army drops are basically meaningless considering no small units exist to fill in the gap. This game is quickly becoming the Standard format of MTG. You must buy a new deck (army) every year or be left in the dust. (DoK being the exclusion to that)
  4. So I saw the drops, we are in trouble. Based on the drops I will be able to fit a Tomb Banshee in. None of the battalions dropped, our named heros are still wildly overcosted. Dreadscythe Harridans are a good unit, but with no real way to debuff bravery they are basically unplayable. I guess we hope for drops to start happening sooner, and hope for 3 months updates. The book is just bad. (The endless spells could be free and I still wouldn't play them)
  5. I have to believe this is them shifting gears to 3 month points updates. To do so little for so many struggling armies is whack. Another year of being dominated by newer armies will sour the game for a lot of people.
  6. I'm asking for Nighthaunt not to be punished because our one good unit was taken in LoN. Just take Grimghasts out of the LoN roster and dont give them points increase. That would be the easiest solution. Or, conversely, lower the points of NH to be actually competitive as a NIGHTHAUNT army. I feel like everything we have is over costed because we "might" get 5 waves of terror a turn. As a NH player, I can assure you it goes off at best 3 times a game, and its random so you cant even plan for it.
  7. We got the shaft hard imo. Mourngul is a joke at 280. Shoulda been 220-240 when you compare it to stuff at those points. Black Coach should probably be 200-220. Guess the army will continue to haunt the lowest tiers as it has since day 1. Really sick of getting punished because LoN made our one unit look good. Could have easily just took it out of the LoN roster. My ONLY hope is that because points only changed 10-20 in most places they will hopefully be going to 3 month updates. With the points being a free download now it's easy to do and they can continually shift things to make better parity.
  8. (All this is based on the blurry NH page picture that's been circulated) With these points changes I sincerely hope they are going to 3 month updates. Nighthaunt got basically nothing and are still as terrible as ever. And our one good unit got bumped, not because it's an allstar in NH, but because of Legions of Nagash. Mourngul down 20 points? What a joke. GW are you really trying to tell me a Mourngul is better than a Verminlord Warpseer? 20 points at a time is good if they are going to do this every 3 months. If they do 6 months or yearly they need to do more steep drops. Because every new army is literally destroying old armies that weren't broken from the get go (DoK). And that leads me to believe they are just doing power creep on purpose to sell more stuff and force people to do new armies or be left in the dust.
  9. Well I have hopes that we will get a terrain piece much sooner than the updates. Stormcast IDKn and DOK all need terrain pieces as well. So I could see Nighthaunt getting their terrain piece in short order with those others. Bare minimum for them to be 2.0 fully.
  10. Yes but in video games you would need to program the changes. In tabletop you just change the points, then if they are bad you revert them in 3 months. If what they are saying is correct and FEC don't get an update in this book does anyone really thing Gristlegore for the next 12 months will be fun?
  11. To make us competitive without making a whole new book they could give us a sweet terrain piece. Ive long since said I want a Herdstone type model, but it debuffs bravery. Starts at 6", goes up 6" every turn. Give non-nighthaunt units -1 bravery equal to the current battle round. Maybe also heal summonable units in range to match the battleshock immunity of herdstone.
  12. I'm certain Nighthaunt need a new book to get out of the lower tiers. Too many armies have mortal wounds on 6's now and get to keep attacking, AND have better to hit and wound. Spirit Hosts are a big example of this. Hitting on 5's and wounding on 4's without rend is atrocious. Not to mention the fact that some units are basically unkillable for our army if they take Ignax's Scales. We just came out too early in 2.0 and got the shaft. And because of Nagash, I fully expect Grimghast Reapers to go UP in points or lose their horde discount. Regardless, I will be happy to field more spooky bois.
  13. Yeah everyone I know who took the survey voted for the 3 months as well. It may seem quick to some, but 3 months ago was forever in balance terms. 12 months ago people thought Nighthaunt we're gonna be very powerful. I have seen successive armies come out and be more powerful every single time. Since GW deals in 20 point jumps, doing it every 3 months makes a lot more sense. If something goes too low, its only 3 months away from a fix. Whereas with the current 12 that thing becomes a problem all year. As for TO's, its not difficult to have everyone put their list into Warscroll builder and print out a copy, or keep it on their phone. I feel like this should be standard procedure at this point.
  14. All our abilities feel like 2.0 Beta abilities. Some of our units have mortal wounds on unmodified 6's, but the attack ends (and theyre horrid like Spirit hosts at 120 points which hit on FIVES and wound on fours). Compare to Khorne which continues attacking, or Fyreslayers which does 2 mortal wounds and keeps attacking. Our "extra combat" ability is totally random and does basically nothing if the turns are in the wrong order and we get charged. Compare to FEC 1 point extra combat, or you can take a delusion and get free ones every turn. Or Fyreslayers who get to pile in and attack first out of order for one command point, and still attack later in the phase. Ironically the most fair of these being Slaanesh who gets to use a unit again on their activation. Wave of Terror is great, if it goes off. As someone who mains Nighthaunt, I can tell you that it will go off on average 1-2 times a game. And the longer the game, the weaker it is because the units that it goes off on are weaker and you have no choice in the matter. All new books get to pick a Court/Hoursehold/Lodge/etc to gain more abilities whereas we just get the stock 6, which most of are pretty bad. We are supposed to be the army that attacks opponent's bravery yet our entire book only has 1 thing that lowers bravery, by 1, and it's our allegiance ability. This is WOEFULLY overvalued by GW when EVERYONE gets multiple ways to basically avoid the battleshock phase. This essentially nullifies our Feed on Terror allegiance ability, which isnt great to begin with. Our heroes are exceedingly weak for the points they cost. Lady Olynder and Kurdoss being the big culprits here. 240 and 220 respectively for 7 wounds. They put so much value on ethereal, but then put that damn amulet in the Malign Sorcery book so every other army could have their best unit with a 3+ save be unrendable. Our entire army cannot benefit from cover so that tactic is thrown right out the window. I love the spooky boys, but they are in dire needs of cost reductions, and in some cases (glaivewraiths, endless spells) complete warscroll reworks. There is a reason the army is the lowest win% of all 2.0 armies. The main problem is Nagash lists take huge piles of Grimghast Reapers and bring them back for one command point so the rest of our army suffers because everyone thinks we are THAT good. When in reality we do not have access to gravesites or invigorating aura. I'm well aware that every army "pays a cost" for the abilities of their allegiance, but Nighthaunt got the shaft. ALL of our abilities are weaker than 2.0 armies, AND we have high points costs.
  15. 6 months after a book comes out is good. Lots more data available. Points changes every 3 months could be feasible as long as they aren't drastic. I'd love them to drop some things by increments of 10 and raise some the same if they go to a quicker schedule. All I know is my spooky boys needs some help. We are without a doubt the worst 2.0 army.
  16. This is something have a problem with. People still cannot buy Guardian of Souls from Soul Wars. Same goes for Warlock Bombardier and Archregent. Im certain there's more but I don't have knowledge of all the armies. If GW wanted to do something after this Sylvaneth book problem they should've started listing these heroes for solo sale. Would've filled the gap of releases over the last month or so nicely.
  17. The difference of course are those were limited run box sets and these are permanent staples of the GW lineup.
  18. Had a similar problem with a new player here. Lots of awkwardness and anxiety, but hey you put up with that. Its a game. Then the cheating began. He would move units, then move another unit, then go back to a previous unit and decide to run it (when they realized they were out of range to charge). Then the kicker, he was playing Archaon, I had specifically set my units up on the other side of his warriors to it would be zoned out by base size alone. He then proceeds to pick up his Archaon set it too close to my models (within an inch) and push two other units of warriors backwards a good 2+ inches to make sure Archaon fits. Me and another player told him he simply could not do this. He then just proceeded to charge phase ignoring protests. Then he called me a rules ******. Which to me, confirmed he knew the rules and just didn't care. I will not play with cheaters. The only solution is expulsion. If they are willing to blatantly cheat even when other players tell them they cant, they are cheating all the time and you just aren't catching it. Some of these games take 3+ hours, there is no reason to waste that much of your life on a person who does not respect your time. Never play with cheaters. If you want to be kind, give them another chance, but if the cheating is regular, it always will be.
  19. And it's even harder to gain new players when the long term ones sour to the game and discourage getting started. It would be best for GW to update all armies, books and models, to 2.0 with plastic and competitive rules. Then when that is done, release new armies.
  20. While that could be entirely possible, we don;t actually have that from GW. Imagine a Gordrakk with Feeding Frenzy. Even is his points go up to reflect it, pretty sure every Ironjawz player would take that deal. Especially when you consider Terrorghiest who does 6 mortal wounds on 6's is 300 points. Gordrakk is almost double that. And in my group we have actually been theorycrafting the idea of a Maw Krusha with no rider at 300 points. It gets crushed by a Terrorgheist regardless even without feeding frenzy. We have started to believe that GW had a buttload of extra FEC that didnt sell and made the new book with the mind to sell of all the extra. I rarely if ever saw FEC in play, or tournament lists before the new book. EDIT: Too add to this, FEC is the problem. When they made attack with a command point then everything started getting out of Pandora's box. And it shows. Slaanesh is doing well, Fyreslayers are doing well, Khorne is kinda doing well, and Gits are left behind. Skaven are doing well for a whole different reason and that's because they are basically the new 1.0 Tzeentch.
  21. This really is the best solution. A lot of the abilities are wildly less good than say Feeding Frenzy or Excess of Violence (or the Fyreslayer one I cant recall the name of). Look at them compared to Spectral Overseer on Knight of Shrouds, or Might Waagh! on Megaboss on Maw Krusha. These cost the same points and you can get 1-2 extra attacks per model, whereas the former bring entire combats for the same price.
  22. I tried games with huge blobs of Chainrasp and Grimghasts and moving all those models just never felt fun. Im much more happy to just slam a bunch of "hope for 6's" on the board. I actually ordered 3 more boxes of spirit hosts. I know they pretty much wont be competitive against 2.0 armies until we get an update. But in my playgroup we're all pretty low end so we dont have to take the meta lists. When Ironjawz and Seraphon get new books I have no doubt it will become actually impossible to win with NH.
  23. Took this to victory today. It was very hard fought. General: 100 Dreadblade Harrow (Ruler of the Spirit Hosts, Balefire Blade) Heros: 240 Lady Olynder (Soul Cage) 140 Guardian of Souls (Shademist) 120 Spirit Torment 120 Spirit Torment Battlelines: 160 5x Hexwraiths 160 5x Hexwraiths 240 6x Spirit Hosts Other Units: 80 4x Myrmourn Banshees 280 Black Coach 300 Mounrgul Endless Spells: 60 Chronomantic Cogs We played Starstrike adapted for 3 players. 6K was on the board. I played against Ironjawz and Seraphon. Gordrakk charged my line turn 1. Killed black coach outright and destructive bulked 1 1/2 hexwraiths. I attacked back with 4 Hex's a GoS and a Spirit Torment. Took him down to 7. On my turn I used olynders hero phase shot for 3 mortals, then used grave sands of time for the once per battle for 2 more. Dropped Mourngul with a spirit torment behind him at the end of movement (from the underworld). Spirit Hosts dropped near the middle of the board. Over the next 3 turns I tabled most of the Ironjawz. (Megaboss on Maw Krusha with Ethereal Amulet is bull) The Seraphon player stayed back for most of this as we were killing each other. Luck struck as turn 2 the star hit our side, then one of the next 2 dropped in my deployment. Turn 4 started and Megaboss on foot was the only Ironjawz unit left. I killed that and sent the Spirit Hosts crashing into the seraphon front lines. The used Dreadblade Harrow to discorporate behind him and brought some hexwraiths with. Turn 5 I won priority and just zone blocked out the Seraphon teleporting as I already had more victory points. Never got the Cogs off all game. To be real, I only got two spells off all game and they were both Spectral Summons. Just bad rolling and when anything else actually passed the Seraphon would unbind.
  24. Nighthaunt Scenery PLZ!!!! (Realistically probably new Death army related)
  25. For anyone who has done it, what's the best way for Black Coach to put the 4 horses side by side?
