AoS 2 - Stormcast Eternals Discussion
kenshin620 replied to Chris Tomlin's topic in Stormcast Eternals
Pretty sweet looking! -
Yes, sadly I think GW's reasoning is this "If Battalion is found on Allegiance X, no matter what it is Allegiance X even if its units are also 100% part of Allegiance Y". Nighthaunt are another example. Many Nighthaunt units are 100% normal units for Legions of Nagash, but their battalions are Nighthaunt and thus eats into ally points. This was put specifically in the LoN FAQ.

Blightkings are nurgle battleline so you could drop the 2 min plaguebearer units for something else like plague drones or blightlords.

Speaking of Glottkin, am I the only one surprised there aren't separate profiles for the man sized guys on top? Kind of wish you could run them on foot.

AoS 2 - Stormcast Eternals Discussion

Nothing wrong with talking about fan rules. I did it all the time back in WFB. I once rewrote the entire TK and Beastmen book! -
Yea that's it. You'd think the reason for GA items is that anyone can take them, but noooooo. The top brass of the Faction gets jealous or something. Which is a tad silly with I'd say the Death allegiance the most. There is basically no reason at all to take GA Death (and its step child list The Wraith Fleet), so all those artifacts are sadly dead, no pun intended (also pretty funny since they reprinted GA Death within the LoN battletome). Which is a shame since I think their Blade of Dark Summons would have been an interesting item to take (Mmmmm free 12 unit Myrmourn Banshees).

By the way, has anyone thought of running marauders in Tzeentch as Arcane Sacrifice fodder? Quite a bit cheaper than acolytes but less range power. I believe that unfortunately you can no longer take GA artifacts when you use a "proper" (ie traits, artifacts, etc) allegiance. At least thats what I've heard. (so another example is if you used the Brayheard allegiance, you can't use the Chaos GA items, but if you used the Warherd allegiance which has no traits, you can use the GA items).

AoS 2 - Stormcast Eternals Discussion

This is warhammer, RULE OF COOL! ? Plus when has warhammer cared about realism. I swear it is actually physically impossible for most Monster Mounted heroes to actually hit anything with their weapons! -
Maybe its me but I don't mind Warmachine/Hordes Gatormen. Only problem is that they come in packs of 5 (unless you get the boardgame, then you get 6, but they may be less detailed as those are boardgame plastic.) I actually haven't done them, I just used google. I think the good thing about Seraphon is that usually everything is pretty decent. The Start Collecting Set, a Slaan, and maybe one more box of something or two gives plenty to experiment with.
-
Plus if you're not running Daemon Weapons, you clearly don't remember the Khorne mantra of not caring where the blood flows from! ?

I swear we always have to clarify this every 3 weeks!? Though I suppose I sort of understand the confusion. I mean... 1. The books' names are not the allegiance names, in fact all references to the Battletome Names are zero (outside of FW erroneously referring the Nurgle allegiance as the Maggotkin of Nurgle Allegiance). So the Allegiance is not DoT, its just Tzeentch. 2. Slaves are not in the Battletome themselves, so people think "Battletome units = entire allegiance. Therefore everything else is not part of the allegiance." (and then you get into the fun fact that the entirety of the Skaven Pestilens Allegiance can also be taken as Nurgle units!) 3. There are a number of units that are Battleline in Slaves armies, but not Battleline in others (Chariots , Knights, Marauder Horsemen). Warriors and Marauders though are Battleline no matter the allegiance. 4. You have "keyword factions" that in the new books really only restrict artifacts, traits, a few abilities, and battalions. In tzeentch's case its Arcanites of Tzeentch (who are also mortal) and Daemons of Tzeentch. However they're all still part of the same allegiance/faction! 5. Theres 3 friggin Forms of the Gaunt Summoner! In different books/online!

I think one problem with Fantasy undivided is that it's mostly "we have no special qualities". They should really do what 40k has done and make more flavors of "undivided/markless" beyond "paint our armor steel grey". I mean they sort have with Chaos Dwarfs being artillery masters and bits of Norsca being more vikings than "fantasy chaos marines", they just need more! So in 40k you have Iron Warriors (artillery), Night Lords (terror), Alpha Legion (spies and underground cults), Word Bearers (very obvious cults), Dark Mechanicus (robots gone evil) and so on. Heck I want fantasy Cultists! Yea I could proxy them as Ungors or Skaven Clanrats, but an official kit would be nice.

AoS 2 - Cities of Sigmar Discussion
kenshin620 replied to Double Misfire's topic in Cities of Sigmar
Anyone have any games with Greywater? With the SCE artillery being the cheapest, and possibly the most durable, warmachine, is it best to just run x4 of those as opposed to other guns? Or maybe x3 Stormcast and x1 steamtank (with a lord ordinator running behind it)? And should it be a static list with a big unit of dwarf warriors or freeguild guarding the guns, or should aggressive units be used?- 2,454 replies

Despite the Chaos War Mammoth being.....a Mammoth, anyone think that the LOTR War Murmak actually would fit more look wise with Khorne mortals? (Not to mention the lack of available Mammoths)

Are we talking about Old Geminids or New Geminids? New ones aren't as scary (to both players) since only one orb can hit a unit at a time, no more double wrecking balls (seriously how was the original printed rules 40pts?)

Just to be sure, you're aware that Geminids have been nerfed right? Granted IMO the original Geminids was pretty bonkers for 40pts. Either it could have stayed the same but go up to 60-80pts, or did what they did and only have a unit be affected by one or the other per turn.

Well if you dont mind Non Skaven, could fill the Battleline Tax with x3 ungors (total 180pts). Could even say "they're ungor slaves"!
