  1. Here is the new thread for discussing Maggotkin of Nurgle. With the imminent release of AoS 2 (and a lot of the info already being out there), now is the time for us to start afresh on TGA. Moving forward, this will be the main thread to chat about and discuss Maggotkin of Nurgle in the new edition. I still wholly encourage people to keep their own threads/army blogs within this sub forum and I also think those are a great place to share some photos as I know not everyone frequents the Painting & Modelling section. But this thread is purely for discussion around the faction, things such as (but not limited to) tactics and list building etc. You all know the drill, we've been doing it on this forum since inception! For newer players, I would say the older thread could still be worth perusal and whilst it is now locked for further replies, you can find it here - http://www.tga.community/forums/topic/9323-lets-chat-maggotkin-of-nurgle/ Really excited to see what we can come up with as a community and I look forward to reading all your ideas and thoughts.
  2. Hey everyone, There was an interesting discussion on the general hobby chatter thread. Basically people mentioned the general feeling that competitive play is the most visible side of AoS (on this forum and most other places) and seen by a lot of players as the only « right » way to play Warhammer. Rather than whining and bitching about this, there is another way. We need to talk about it. We need to get threads on the home page. We need to share and discuss and comment. We need to get the word out! So here is a topic to freely discuss anything narrative / open play related. Obviously we can create topics about our ongoing projects and so on, but this one can be the hub where we share half-assed ideas, ask quick feedback on scenarios, explain our newest houserule or daydream about the hobby. I’ll start : due to lack of opponents I’m not really playing AoS proper right now, but I am really into warcry. In a couple of weeks I’ll be flying to spain to have a one-day mini campaign with an awesome painter / converter. I am writing the scenarios and converting an undead warband; I’ll definitely post more about it as the deadline approaches... So what’s going on with you?
  3. Welcome to the new Nighthaunt discussion thread! Following on from the release of the second edition Age of Sigmar rules, this thread is the main thread to talk about all things related the Nighthaunt allegiance of Grand Alliance Death. For new players the Nighthaunt are legions of ethereal ghosts and souls who do Nagash' bidding, many being punished for heinous crimes committed in life. We do encourage people to create your own threads talking about your armies, home written fan fiction, conversions and paint jobs (not everybody frequents the painting forum), but this thread will be the central place to talk tactics, list building and general conversation and similar. You all know the drill! For easy reference, here's a link to the old Let's Chat thread, it still contains lots of gems of information! http://www.tga.community/forums/topic/11436-lets-chat-nighthaunt/

Following on from the release of the second edition Age of Sigmar rules, this thread is the main thread to talk about all things related the Legion of Blood allegiance of Grand Alliance Death. 13. Surprised that this isn't already a topic this is for armies that use Allegiance order. What combos do you think are good and what are must haves? What are the best choices this army is a huge open book. Not sure what else to put here. Maybe ill just start putting tournament lists I find and try to find trends.

  17. Note to mods: I debated about posting this in painting and modeling but decided here as it applies to the hobby as a whole. If needed please feel free to move this thread to the other forum. I’ve been suffering from a case of hobby burn out of late, particularly in regards to building and painting. While this is something we all get from time to time we all do different things to reinvigorate our hobby senses and tl/dr: I wanna know what do you do when you need a break from build/paint/play and what do you find that reenergizes your hobby passion? Generally whenever I don’t want to build I’ll paint, and when I don’t want to paint I’ll build. However when both past times feel less like a hobby and more like a chore I’ve found other ways to re-ignite my hobby fires in the past. Firstly I use other hobbies to get away from build/paint/play-ing as a whole for a a while. I actually have far more hobbies than time to enjoy them so when whatever recreational pastime I’m pursuing becomes a chore I’ll focus on another. Generally the further afield the distracting hobby is the better. Woodworking is good, getting in more rounds at the gun range is better, logging extra workout time is even better still. Notice the trend? For relighting the modeling flame TGA forums is one of my best resources. The sheer number of beautiful paint jobs and imaginative conversions is usually enough to kick start my own drive to do something (read as: steal an idea). A close second has been to hobby without making it my hobby. Just because I don’t want to paint right now doesn’t mean I’ve lost interest in painting. I won’t try to paint a unit, but I’ll play around at the painting desk experimenting and not caring if I ****** it up. Now how about you, what techniques do you use to break up the monotony when hobbies become chores?
  18. So with the announcement a few months ago of an AoS video game being developed by ex-relic devs and published by Focus, most probably an RTS, I began to think what other games could fit nicely in the setting. The first idea that came to me was a Souls like Action RPG based on the Silver Tower board game, where you play a Stormcast (introducing the dead/revive mechanic and losing your humanity with every death) trying to escape a Silver Tower. Just imagine that being developed by FromSoft, I think the AoS universe could really support a grim narrative the Souls games have. Also a TW: AoS wouldn't be that insane of an idea after TW: Warhammer trilogy comes at an end. I'd prefer a TW:Middle Earth, but I don't think its going to happen any time soon with WB holding the rights to Middle Earth. Finally I'd love to see a digital version of the tabletop, I know its never going to happen, but it would be awesome. Maybe they could use the same business model as gwent, where there are random packs but its not impossible to get good stuff. What are your opinions?

  20. Before the Rumour Thread gets out of controll on this topic and mods start wearing hats again, I would like to create a thread for a topic which I really like to discuss about: Female Models in our hobby. I know that people have a lot of different opinions on this topic, therefore I would like anyone participating in the discussion to keep respectful even when opinions differ drasticaly. This thread is all about female models and anything beyond. From talking new and old sculpts, talking about trends or flaws in GW´s (or other manufacturers) design approach or even about what importance the depiction of women has on our hobby, or even society. As Kick Off I would simply quote the mentioned rumour thread posts that the discussion started with this time:

  22. So it’s become very clear that reapers are an extremely strong unit in LoN armies. They’re fast, have the bodies for objectives, can get VDM, regen and summoned back. In my games they have completely dominated. I have been expecting some sort of nerf, and I don’t think I’m the only one. So the questions are, what will the nerf be, and if reapers are no longer an option (whether there a better options or simply no longer available for LoN), what units will you be replacing them with. i expected them to no longer receive the bonuses LoN offers, which I think would still make them a decent choice. They won’t be around all game but can still be healed through heroes and still are hella offensive. though if they are nerfed harder, I’m really not sure what I’d replace them with. your thoughts?
  23. EDIT: This post has been revised to include other builds posted by community members(thanks for the input!), and has had formatting fixed for readability) With the Las Vegas Open being just under two weeks ago, I thought I'd start a little thread for people going to help them prepare. Sometimes a player loses a game simply because they were not fully aware of what an opponents army does. So, with that in mind, here a few that I can think of, and what you can do help your games against them! Please feel free to reply to this thread with things of your own, as I think it would be cool to build a list of both popular and less popular powerful builds succinctly. 24. Hey all, so I’m trying to build a competitive death list, specifically LOS. With my limited experience with death I’ve come up with a couple of lists, I’d really appreciate some feed back, any changes to make, which list would be better, etc. Though for the sake of discussion is also like to read the lists you have been most successful with, whether it being your local meta or bigger tournaments. Strategies and battle reports are always welcome As for my lists; I am more partial to the first list, I feel it has better board presence (threats, not just chaff) and allows for some strategic flexibility, but have play tested lords of sacrament a little and the bonus to casting did go a long way. so, with the wealth of experience here, what are your thoughts? LoS 2k list critique

Got a major GT coming up in about 3 weeks and I wanted to get the communities opinion on a sacrament list and if it can go the distance 6-0. (obviously player ability has the most to do with it but that aside this is mostly to see if I can optimize anything). The extra cp will be for Arkhan command ability stacking for soul harvest through portal if the opportunity arises but mostly for inspiring presence and endless legions bc those 2 are huge cp drains. I don't max out on reapers bc I find that 20 is all I can usually fit in combat at any given time and they are susceptible to battleshock. I've chosen to go rasps over more skeletons bc I didn't want to paint more skeletons and the rasps look dope. They've also been competent as volume of attacks dealers. I wonder if I should split the 30 group in to 3*10 tho since they are mainly super durable objective campers. Maybe even drop 10 for cogs and shackles? I've also been back and forth on the Ethereal Amulet or the Doppelganger cloak. 2 missions are duality of death and places of arcane power so I will need a durable hero to camp.
