Maybe. The roadmap was released a few weeks ago and there will be a release this month.

Well GW have confirmed that we will see the Next Codexes in October so my guess is over next few months it will be starter sets for 40K. So hopefully the Sons will be this month but with the disruption caused by COVID, I would hate to be the release planner for GW. Six weeks lost as well as all the disruption to your supply chains and staff availability. Whilst some businesses have coped well working from home, there’s only so much you can do with staff at GW

The other issue is the looming pressures of another potential lockdown. UK is already starting to feel the corona cases creep up and is putting in place a slowdown on the unlocking process. There is every chance if the number of cases starts to climb again that we might well see businesses closed down again. For GW this might mean the high-street stores have to close ,but that their main site can remain open. However if the local situation to them gets worse then staff might have to or want to pause work to isolate.

In the end GW has very healthy finances and is a non-essential product and service. They can survive another shut down if they have too.

I'm hoping for an August/September release, if not it could end up being November, Christmas.

At the end of the day the safety of staff and people in general is far more important than our toy soldiers. If we enter another Lockdown I'm all for GW closing shop again.

My predictions for August are (in no particular order)

Necromuna week

New 40k starter sets week

Underworlds and bloodbowl week

Sons week

Hoping its a AoS week today, I really want the khaine warband and the snotling bb team!

I'd love for this prediction to be true!! Gives us an AOS week then 40K then AOS etc.

One hard thing to predict is how much GW releases in a week. Sometimes they seem to be under-releasing compared to what they could release; so it might be that they are having to stagger things so that they've enough production slots so that new releases don't run out of stock too fast; whilst at the same time keeping up as best they can with the rest.

For example the new 40K Starters sets might well come out on their own, or they might come alongside several other new models previewed for both armies. What might have once been a one week release could be two or three.

I really really hope they’re announcing preorders for Warcry tonight, I’m getting a little worried for my favorite game. It doesn’t even have a roadmap yet.

I wouldn't be worried I bet there is loads to come.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rumoured khaine vs slannesh box rumoured ages ago isn't a warcry starter set.

My favorite theory is that its going to be Khainites vs Scions of the Flame, and that it’s going to introduce a Magic system.

It never ends, does it?

Ok I am a little bit annoyed now, well actually very. 40K just had a new Edition and has been constantly receiving new things for weeks, couldn't they have taken a week off? Surely there are 40K players who wouldnt have minded a break on their wallets for a week?

I know the same will probably happen for us with AOS 3.0. Sorry to be down guys but damn.

EDIT UPDATE. I definitely overreacted, it's just been a bad day.

Is that Tome Celestial thing a Legion of Grief style mini-allegiance for orcs?

Don't forget that 40K got a new edition for existing fans, but Indomitus was never marketed nor expected to be sold to new gamers. So the starter sets make sense coming out fast. They are for newer customers just starting out in 40K.

it makes sense they're getting the starter sets out right away.

would be a bit weird to release them a couple of months after the hype of the new edition launching had died down.

starter sets then a couple of weeks of specialist games releases Underworlds, maybe Warcry and then back on it in September.

I mean sure like any good little capitalist I can't wait to hand over money to them for stuff I don't need but are people really trying to tell me that they don't have a small eco-catastrophe's worth of unpainted plastic tucked away somewhere that they can't be getting on with in the mean time?

Yup, I’ve only got around 20 models left to paint in my backlog and they’re running out fast

You know the legend, if you paint your entire backlog, you die. I'll go buy some more just to be safe!

On another note, another week that my wallet gets a break!

Yeah I know that’s why I’m so upset! (I just bought a Secret horcrux Indomitus Judicar which now lives at my friend’s place 10 Miles away, just for safety)

Good point mate. Though I, for once, possibly ever, have nothing to paint!!
