The Rumour Thread

Recommended Posts

They really look nothing like the Slaught unless it's a retcon and I really cannot see Games Workshop making a Xenos faction that looks too close to another faction just because their ability to diversify model lines is usually very good.

I don't get where people are getting anything but Nurgle from them. The giant flies are identical to those buzzing around Typhus, there's Poxwalkers, Nurglings, tentacle mutations in-line with those from the Death Guard kits.

Nevermind that the Slaught themselves are quite literal Maggot Men. They use Frankenstein-esq creations akin to the Dark Eldar, but models look too much like they're mutated than from mad science.

Just want to say that there is a certain toxicity by certain people on here regarding rumours and those who share the rumours. I myself have experienced it and it can feel like an interrogation/ witch hunt.

The last few attacks at skreech the last couple pages were uncalled for. He heard a rumour and shared it. Can people not just take it for what it is please. I myself have given up on sharing what I’ve heard as I am sure others have and will who have experienced similar vitriol.

Just a thought.

Agreed, in what refers to the source witch hunt. I understand it though: it comes from the "Temoulon" experience. If you refer to us questioning credibility, do understand that there are tons of trolling rumour mongers and no accredited rumour monger ATM, so there are reasons to be skeptical.

From my understanding it wasnt an attack on Skreech but an attempt to forewarn him into protecting someone whose job and employment could well have been put at risk for disclosing precise information that could easily identify the leak. We all like rumours but I'd hazard a guess that none of us want someone getting the sack so we can get vague information about toy soldiers.

Well I didn’t see it as an attack on me but more as a warning from which I can learn  to correct and see my mistakes.

so yes some comments were maybe a little bit hardish, but still a great way of learning from mistakes which were made.

There are multiple outsourced ‘army painters’ that help with the bigger projects. Skreech passed along a comment. Instead of people saying ‘cool’ and being excited there was a big deal made, asking who the sources were and for proof etc, even questioning that there even are army painters out there, (there are btw). In any case I understand some were concerned about his friend getting into trouble but a simple pm could have avoided that if it was the true intent.

In any case I don’t want to devolve into a lengthy discussion. I have stated my opinions and I’ll let them be what they may. People need to maybe just take a breathe before ripping into others for no other reason than scepticism. You don’t have to believe what you read but if you are dismissing something someone shares why take the time and effort to dissect and analyze it if you don’t care and don’t believe?

Just my 2cents.

If I can swing back to the Malign Portents story, this isn't the first time we've heard of cog forts, no? What if like the Kharadron, Humans in the setting are made to be more deliberately steampunk, except where the KO use ships and such, the Freeguild/Ironweld utilize constructs and walkers?

I agree with this.  Wherever they discuss technology in the AOS context it tends to seem more steampunk influenced.  Like the huge walker city the Skaven have and the numerous other mentions of potential flying factions. Not sure how I feel about this but definitely seems to be the way things are going.

You are right. This wasn't the first time. They were first mentioned (but not called Cog-forts) in the Shadow over Hammerhal material where they protect Hammerhal Aqsha and then again in this function in one of the earlier Malign Portents stories where they got their name.

Nice, they're not going to make us wait and are going to Announce new mainline stuff before noon and then the FW, specialists and middle earth stuff trickles out later. So I should be waking up to new stuff over here in the states.

So there's clearly something big for AoS...

May I be the first to unrealistically guess that EVERYTHING suggested over the last 10 pages of this thread will come true??

They said "the future of Age of Sigmar", my guess is the rumored new starter box with Nighthaunt and the new Stormcast Chamber.
