Hi

I've joined this haven of good cheer to look for people who interested in pursuing a career in the Citadel Design Team at Games Worshop.
We're always looking for the right people to join the team in the future. To this end, we've set up a couple of selection programmes to help people channel their passion and enthusiasm  for Citadel Miniatures, either designing them or painting them. Each programme is designed to give people an opportunity to participate in regular assignments and have regular communication with the Citadel Design Team.
There are a number of ways of starting your journey:-
Either message me on social media, https://twitter.com/GWCitadelTeamhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/matthew-toonea7631426/ or https://www.facebook.com/Games-Workshop-Citadel-Miniatures-Recruitment-266379900374421/
Or go directly to the job adverts on the Games Workshop website, links below........

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Looking for rules writers? ;)

I just saw Pete Foley from the GW Team looking for rules writers on twitter this past week or so.

I’d love to be a miniatures designer. Sadly I don’t have much experience with CAD software (past 2d engineering drawings or simple 3D stuff), and if I’m honest with myself I’m possibly not creative enough. But it would be really cool.

The key to success is to never sell yourself short! Enthusiasm wins the day.

We're not looking for experience in software tools, but we are looking for people who have the drive, determination and passion to make great miniatures. Show me what you can do......

I’ll echo this. When I look for new members for my IT team, I’m looking more so for somebody who has that drive to fix things. You can teach and shape the skill set but it’s having that drive and desire to do it. It’s a spark that some people have and if you can nurture it, you get somebody amazing.

Had their chance with me several years ago.

Cannot afford to make significantly less than I do now, it will remain a passing aspiration of mine from an earlier time, before I got a house, wife, career and started a family. But who knows... the winds of life can take you make places, you just need to put up your sails.

best of luck everyone!

Third this! It's why I gave up spending too much time looking at CV's when hiring, and instead went straight to phone and f2f interviews.

I find it really cool to see GW coming here to recruit. It's obvious this isn't a typical hobby site - TGA is filled with passionate supporters of creativity, modeling skills, helpful attitudes, insightful game play analysis, and ace painting skills. This is also a salute to Ben, Gaz, and everybody else who makes this site something special.

Thank you.

The key thing Ben wanted with this forum was to have a place that we could all enjoy discussing our hobby. It's very easy to be dragged down by negative comments which is not something we really want here as it just creates a bad atmosphere. Nothing wrong with people being constructive but some people don't go down that path.

If anybody is interested in any jobs with GW (UK based or not), please visit https://jobs.games-workshop.com/

Are there freelance opportunities?

honestly, i think this is great.

the fact that gw are here, amongst us, asking these questions is something which was just unimaginable in the age of kirby.

This is just going to reinforce why gw sits at the top of the industry.

all i need is them to buy into my aos brets idea!!!

Lets sit back and actually take stock of what that initial post is actually saying to us as a community :)

As much as I'd love to, sadly my career has moved beyond entry level jobs :(

This, :(

Although the opportunity would be amazing. Simply a dream job of crafting and sculpting miniatures all day, and spending all day with like minded people. I mean it's mostly what I do except that I don't get paid for my models (mostly conversions with the odd bit of sculpting) and that my Teaching job takes up most of my time.

@GW Citadel Recruitment, does it require the designer to work in house at Nottingham, are there any freelance opportunities?

Like several others I've no skill set suited to either position, but I do want to see thanks to GW for reaching out and for giving people this opportunity! Hope you get some great applicants and some people get to put a foot on the ladder of a dream job for them!

Hi chaps, we've got a 60-strong team, all in one room. Pretty much half of that number are miniatures designers, when new designers join the team, the say something like "wow, with this much talent in one room I can learn so much!"

We absolutely recognise the other benefits of everybody being on site as well, if you needed to talk to a tool designer it's a 2 minute walk away; a 'Eavy Metal painter it's 5 second walk; another designer ....... etc

The onsite bar, the gym etc

I understand the benefits of remote working ( we even tried it years ago.....) but the benefits of all us being under one roof far outweigh.

So, sorry, we don't consider freelance.

Cheers all

Matt
