  1. Oof. So, this might be semi-embarrassing. So, I portray myself as a Wanderers and Sylvaneth player, but I don't have much on the way of MODELS. Most of my Hobby time is devoted to painting what I do have and making up lore. Lots and LOTS of Lore. When you're still in school, (Not getting any more specific) Hobby Funds tend to be low. So I mostly rely on Holidays. So here it is: 1 SC! Sylvaneth, Treelord assembled as Durthu 1 Waywatcher 12 Glade Guard So the rest of it is obtained secondhand. 1 random Freeguild Greatsword that I use as a General 2 Freeguild Generals on Horseback 10 Freeguild Giuard w/ Spears 10 Freeguild Guard w/ Swords and Shields 10 Freeguild gunners 1 Battlemage 1 Knight Incantor 15 Sequitors 5 Evocators 3 Vanguard-Palladors 15 Liberators 3 Prosecutors 5 Retrivutors 1 Lord Relictor 1 Lord Celestant So I mostly play 1k games, using my Glade Guard as Shadow Warriors and my Waywatcher as a Nomad Prince. Hoping to expand soon.
  2. You know what I love about CoS? I love that, instead of restricting us to a faction, it lets us run wild. We can convert Dark Elves with leaves and paint them up like living city warriors, we can convert Freeguild with leaves and paint them up like living city warriors, everqueen, we can even convert a STEAM TANK with leaves and paint it up like a living city STEAM TANK! On a less optimistic note, it's sad to see the Wanderers sculpt go. I had just gotten into the hobby and picked up a couple units of Wanderers to start - A Waywatcher and some Glade Guard - then got distracted with 40k for a while. I got a SC! Sylvaneth for christmas, and that got me back into things, and then CoS dropped and the Waystrider was gone. I love my Waywatcher, and was hoping to pick up a Wayfinder, but I absolutely adore the Waystrider sculpt. Too late to pick one up from GW, though I might try to find one on Ebay...
  3. Side question - How are you enjoying Tales from the Yawning Portal?
  4. No. They have been joined with the rest of the Cities of Sigmar line, and will have to rely on them for Relics and Command Traits. I guess, you could still play Shadowblades allegiance if you wanted to, but you couldn't include any other cities of sigmar units. I suspect they will remove the allegiance abilities of the combined factions with a new FAQ or General's Handbook. So no, they don't have any of their own, but can use CoS ones now.
  5. Dumb question - Can I use Stormcast Eternals Endless Spells for a CoS army, and Sylvaneth ones for a Living City force?
  6. Ah, Ok. Forgot about that. That makes sense.
  7. I just realised - Durthu heals a wound each turn! (Due to the allegiance ability) This makes the brackets much more forgiving, as he can rise back out of the deep damage levels. Maybe pair that with a pheonix stone...
  8. Actually, nothing says that Durthu can't be your general so far. Rules say that Sylvaneth models gain the CoS allegiance, and they aren't allies, so they are as legitimate an option as a Nomad Prince.
  9. I don't think so. They don't seem to have Wanderers on their allies table, but we'll have to wait for the full book to drop.
  10. Love it! I like your restrictions on Mortal Wounds. It keeps them under control. Also, I was wondering if you plan to add faction abilities, and perhaps spells. At least for the Battletome factions.
  11. I love that post on Sometimes Minis! I was looking to do something similar, but you beat me to it. Would you mind telling some of the parts you used for the earlier converted heroes, or is that your closely guarded secret? I like your inclusion of the Glade Guard bitz, so sad that they took it off. It was my first Miniatures kit.
  12. I adore these Aeloran Nomads, but I have a few questions: Where can I find the full warscrolls for the models? Have you made a PDF Fantome, and if not, do you plan to? Will you create a guide on how to create these models? And, finally, do you care if I try playing them myself XD?
  13. I adore this! It reminds me of the new Kurnothi - Almost like GW intentionally borrowed the idea... Hmm... Anyway, do you plan on updating this?
  14. Man, this NEEDS to be an army! Just looking at this army scratches a whole different itch than the other Cities of Sigmar armies - Do you plan to do a whole army pic?
  15. I'm really happy about the new tome, and the Living City in particular. One fourth of my army being Sylvaneth basically sells it the whole way for me, and the Allegiance abilities are amazing. I also have a larger amount of Freeguild (Secondhand) than I do Wanderers, which I will change eventually. My plan is to grab some SoTW and Eternal Guard and set up a defensive bastion, sending Wild Riders forward to attack.
  16. I just have to reply here. This army is utterly spectacular - The board in particular is amazing! This is probably the best army i've seen to date, with such a rare concept - Tree Dwarves! I hope you won't mind if I incorporate a few aspects of your army into my Free City. Keep up the good work! Note: I encountered your army on Double Misfire's Blog: https://doublemisfire.blogspot.com/2019/09/city-spotlight-chris-burwoods-gharuki.html
  17. Edited for conciseness because the initial post was corny. This is a spot to discuss the Living City in all its facets and tactical depth - listbuilding, tournament results, theorycrafting, etc. May the alliance between Alarielle and Sigmar grow bountiful and bear much fruit.
  18. Actually, I'm hoping it gets rolled in with wanderers. We DO share a kit, after all. But I can see them joining Shadowblades and/or Pheonix Temple, but luckily it looks like everyone can use Shadow Warriors.
  19. The new article on the Cities on Warhammer community says that the Wanderers have been forgiven by Alarielle. Also, the Living City now holds the "Oakenspire", which seems to be the home base for the Ghyran guard. Interesting, VERY Interesting. This might tempt me to do Vanilla Living City...
