The Rumour Thread

I wouldn't be worried I bet there is loads to come.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rumoured khaine vs slannesh box rumoured ages ago isn't a warcry starter set.

My favorite theory is that its going to be Khainites vs Scions of the Flame, and that it’s going to introduce a Magic system.

Ok I am a little bit annoyed now, well actually very. 40K just had a new Edition and has been constantly receiving new things for weeks, couldn't they have taken a week off? Surely there are 40K players who wouldnt have minded a break on their wallets for a week?

I know the same will probably happen for us with AOS 3.0. Sorry to be down guys but damn.

EDIT UPDATE. I definitely overreacted, it's just been a bad day.

Don't forget that 40K got a new edition for existing fans, but Indomitus was never marketed nor expected to be sold to new gamers. So the starter sets make sense coming out fast. They are for newer customers just starting out in 40K.

it makes sense they're getting the starter sets out right away.

would be a bit weird to release them a couple of months after the hype of the new edition launching had died down.

starter sets then a couple of weeks of specialist games releases Underworlds, maybe Warcry and then back on it in September.

I mean sure like any good little capitalist I can't wait to hand over money to them for stuff I don't need but are people really trying to tell me that they don't have a small eco-catastrophe's worth of unpainted plastic tucked away somewhere that they can't be getting on with in the mean time?

Yup, I’ve only got around 20 models left to paint in my backlog and they’re running out fast

You know the legend, if you paint your entire backlog, you die. I'll go buy some more just to be safe!

On another note, another week that my wallet gets a break!

Yeah I know that’s why I’m so upset! (I just bought a Secret horcrux Indomitus Judicar which now lives at my friend’s place 10 Miles away, just for safety)

Good point mate. Though I, for once, possibly ever, have nothing to paint!!

New Tome Celestial!!!

Seems to be something for gloomspite. Maybe a batallion? New warscroll? First gloomspite subfaccion?

It's for squigs only (it's shame that the anouncement wasn't a mixed army, my grots and troggoths needs a mixed battalion, but we know, the sales are the sales and they want to sell us more squigs).

All we can hope is a megabattalion and two small battalions as always.

I assume one of them will be for cave squigs and sneaky snufflers. We need that battalion.

This tends to happen with GW, and keep in mind the current limitations on any industry production wise not only does that limit your output but lockdowns took a significant chunk  of a fiscal year away which probably cause all sorts of difficulties in supply chain and manufacturing(though selling products related to the IP must be a boon financially these days ) though at the end of the last decade of fantasy 40k tended to get  more love as an IP I think the material and business situation GW finds itself in has more of an effect. They probably have to be more  purposeful with releases in order to  maintain costs and to further growth(and growth i think is a big thing here). which brings us to a common problem as  fans wanting out dudemens to get attention.

With the caveat that GW doesn't release specific numbers so this is speculation on my part, 40k is a way more recognized of the original  IPs, for the international market that GW works in. This new release found itself having it's announcement find a wider reach then I've seen of any GW  game(some of this is for sure GW has become ore digital savvy then it's  past self and competitors)this isn't a fault of AoS mind you but it may be the least recognizable to outsiders of our corner of this hobby( I'd argue WHFB and  40k being almost 40 years old with coupled best selling video games, some recognized characters gives them quite an advantage). Now an IP doesn't make GW's  business model primary money (at least I hope not), but if GW is finding itself trying to get sales and grow it's customer base , while dealing with current  limitations, going all in with the new 40k edition new for few weeks does seem to be getting attention from people outside the hobby and satisfy a LARGE chunk of the fanbase.

Now we kinda suffer a bit of new shinny but probably isn't shrinking the base  as we aren't going to quit and our piles of shame are shrinking

I am using the time between now and when the Lumineth finally get released to try and get my space marines painting caught up.  I should get all the non-vehicles painted should it be the first couple of weeks of September.  If it is the later part of the month, I have a few vehicles to at least get a little more progress on.  No matter what happens I don't think I am finishing my marine collection as I suspect October is going to when some of the new marine stuff drops along with the new codex.

There's just too much stuff I like coming out.  I plan getting quite a bit of Lumineth stuff which I want to be the remainder of the year's painting.  However, I think I am also going to pick up the new Tech Marine and Gladiator tank.  I know this isn't the case for everyone, but I am absolutely no rush for anything at the moment since I have more than plenty to paint and little to no opportunity to play due to world events anyways.

Direct quite from WarhammerTv on Facebook!! Maybe an August release after all for the Sons?!

Amazing!!!

I sincerely doubt I will be able to afford a full Sons army especially as I have somehow ended up with the beginnings of an Imperial Knight army. But I will try and buy a single one to run as an ally for my current armies. But I am more excited to see what you think of them and see all the interesting conversions and paint jobs that the community will unleash. 😇

Thanks mate!! As we both know the models are incredible and in my eyes, perfection. At this point I'm just as if not more excited for the Battletome!! I currently have 3 Aleguzzlers on order pending GW resupply and no doubt repackaging, so at launch I'll be grabbing the BT a Mega and 3 Mancrushers/Aleguzzlers.

I never spent so little on AoS like this year. Considering the stuff I sold I think I may even be in active this year... just too little for me and I’m talking from a 9 armies standpoint (only 3 fully painted, 3 half-baked but almost all entirely assembled). I just hope they release at least some books soon, cause to buy a unit box I’ll probably have to wait the Christmas battle boxes if they continue this trend...

To be fair that stuff is usually more for narrative than anything else. Every GHB deletes anything published by White dwarf...
