What does everyone think is after the DOK/Slanesh box? I’m hoping spells for the idoneth

I believe Morathi book will come along with new rules/ tweaked warscrolls for DoK and Idoneth.

I don't wait any miniature/endless spells for idoneth.

i think whats going to happens is that the BR books are going to give rules updates to all the battletome armies but any new battletome won't be release until after AoS 3.0 hits and every army gets an updated book.

Only issue I see with that is that I think books like IDK, LoN and DoK have fundamnetal problems that can't really be fixed by a campaign book / supplement. I doubt they would make that level of change without new battletomes.

What LoN I see. But what are those fundamental problems in your mind for the other two?
imo DoK just needs a shake up. But is absolutely fine, just a bit older. Two units that are rarely played but that’s due to rules so it’s an easy fix in an supplementary tome.
IDK is imo fixable with two good sub factions and a few warscroll tweaks. Could even be a white dwarf sub faction. A sea beast managery and a thrall list.

well no i am just saying i don't think there going to be any new battletomes releasing until after Broken realm finishes and the new editions comes out (like 40k is doing), that when IDK and others would get new battletomes.

of course it all speculation since i am basing off that AoS is doing the same release cycle that 40k is doing currently, and that AoS 3.0 is next year.

Regarding AOS being next year, rumours I’ve heard from people who work at gw is that 3rd edition won’t be next year but the year after, in part due to Covid. I’d expect broken realms to last until this time next year, maybe we’ll see an early 2022 release for 3rd.

Without Covid I would not have expected 3rd edition next year at all. AoS 2.0 is almost only just out of the gates as such. Then again I think it also depends on what GW intends to do with the game. 2.0 was a massive cleanup operation. It might well be that they feel its better to make 3.0 a massive update/release of models for many armies rather than have armies with 2.5 battletomes littering the place. Especially for many of the "smaller" factions that might get two or more new kits (which could each be duel builds or more) which thus makes for a significant addition to the army.

I'd also expect to at least see Shadow Aelves, Soulblight and perhaps one more destruction army released before 3.0, though I accept that hte launch box could well be one of those for 3.0.

Still GW is 6 months delayed or so at least and it seems that Corona is going to hang around for a long while. I've heard a few major events in 2021 have already been cancelled and they are mid-summer events based on the current data trends. Of course all that hinges on a vaccine and on the world reaction etc...

it depends though since the stuff GW pushed back seem to be specialist games (WHU, Warcry, Bloodbowl, Necromunda) which was mostly slated for August/  September but got replace with the AoS/40k release that got delay. with SoB and the 40k release coming soon, the warhammer flagship  games seem mostly on schedule

like Broken realm releasing in November seems about right if not just one month delay if you compare it to Phoenix Rising release of last year

I agree on the DoK part, however IDK have pretty much one build that works occasionally. Namartii are a design failure as well as their buff characters (Lotann, Soulrender). The IDK Mgic is very far from being good and the Eidolons are at an odd one: They seem good on paper but bring very little to the table and therefor are often only used as fun element. The same goes for the Leviadon.

You are basically playing the Army with Morsarr Guard, The Akhelian King/Voltournos, the Soul Srcyer and maybe some Sharks. 😕

I am perfectly okay with this. I like the idea of all the 2.0 Battletomes being released and having sometime with them before 3.0 inevitably mixes things up.

I think Broken Realms will be a good middle ground to add some things

But if, for example, a sub faction called ‘the deepest sea’ is published in the white dwarf. And it makes it so that the aether sea is so thick for this army they all namarti get the hearthguard Bezerkers save rules.
Wont that make a namarti thrall army a great and fun army to play?
Could even come with a 3 spells, spell lore.

I’d play that :)

I don’t think giving them Petrefix power level of rules is the answers.

I think the problem with IDK is that there has I be some a lot of fundamental rule changes to both tone down the Eels and make the other units more Compelling options. And that require a lot of core structural change in the army itself.

Right now because of the absurd buff stacking of eels, you almost have to give equal absurd amount of rules to make the other stuff comparable in the army.

So who is ready for the big second wave of Necron and Marine models tomorrow in the preview day?

Unless its finally KingBrodd's turn to jump for joy as Gargants get a release!

Or GW throws a wildcard at us

if we go by the Black Library Previews(and we generally should), @KingBrodd should get his big bois within two weeks(preorder this coming weekend, followed by actual release).

Nothing yet.  B&G would have been next weekend so it's possible we may hear something this weekend (either on Friday when they finish the week's Twitch or on Sunday with the weeks announcements)

on their page they have a back account.. but the tournament is suspended?

Hopefully it's gargant day!!

Would be surprised if their is a preview announcement for next Saturday as well.

If the Sons are going up on pre order next week,  everything shown from the adepticon preview has been released apart from the bloodbowl treeman.

I'm kinda hoping for the new Warcry set, but guess I'm one of the few 😅

You see, I'm in two minds about this
On the one hand, I want the set to come out and people to have access to it and to start playing around with it before everyone's wallets get a little tighter come Christmas
On the other hand, as my partner is probably going to be kind enough to get me one for Christmas, the earlier it comes out, the longer its going to be sat at the back of the wardrobe, taunting me :P

Me too! But it doesn't feel right to celebrate until Gargants 😜

I'm worried about the Warcry set. See I've loads of Necron things I'd like this month; Morathi and DoK in November and potential Christmas boxes in December. That leaves not really much budget room for Warcry!
