    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

Free City Generator: Spiteforge

Greetings! So today I have been poking around on the Free City Generator from the The Warhammer Community  site. (https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/09/26/make-your-own-free-city-the-easy-way-sep26gw-homepage-post-4/) I love random tables, (I guess it’s why I am a chaos player!). So I sat down and started rolling some dice to build a Free Cities of my own. Now I decided that this would help me develop the ideas for the fallen capital of the shrouded fens, and the home of the Coho

My Views on the "Required Paint Scheme Rules" Debate

Hey Everyone.  This past week we have seen a debate regarding the controversial topic of requiring specific paint schemes to unlock certain battalion rules in Age of Sigmar.  We saw precursors of this with Stormcast Eternals and Kharadron Overlords Battletomes, but the new Season of War: Firestorm campaign box has added additional bonuses to specific Free Cities from The Mortal Realms.  I want to be upfront from the beginning that I respect the debate and those debating it as arguments for and a

Nemo and Fatesworn Friends head to the Grand Tournament Finals

So after Kairos's defeat at the hands of colour coded Bloodletter Spam and 21 Skyfires - there was only one possible solution! A bigger summoning pool! The new list jacks it up to 780 points. I keep the Fatesworn Warband. Nemo the Ogroid steps up to replace the role filled by the Sorc on Manticore. The Curseling is General. The Cohort of Bloodied Brass: An Introduction

== In the age of Myth within the realm of Ghur, the vast kingdom  once stood. Mighty Lords protected the land from the monsters of the realm and with these heroics they kept peace. With powerful spells, arc-magi tamed the very sky’s, making a land of eternal spring free from storms. Sprawling farms and crowded towns of artisans produced goods and wealth. Many legendry heroe made this Kingdom their home.  To prove their power, great tournaments were regularly held; slowly this marital p

Time of War: Ghur: ' Shrouded Fens'

As I mentioned in the introduction post the league will have a strong narrative element. I plan to be provide my players a number of tools they can use to add this to the games. None of these ideas are going to be mandatory, due to the difference in experience of the players in the league. The first of these ideas is a custom time of war for the campaign. The idea for the Shrouded Fens came from the descriptions of Albion from the dark shadows summer campaign of 2001. This campaign was ran

Weekly Hobby Update : 10-4-17

Hey Everyone!  This past week has been full of hobby, and gaming (and painting my deck) so as usual here is my current hobby and recently played games.  This past Saturday was an Age of Sigmar Club Day at one of my local clubs.  We played Skirmish and a few rounds of 1000pts matched play using the scenarios from GHB2017. It was exciting to finally get my freshly painted Blades of Khorne on the table and they had a good showing overall and I learned a few lessons on playing the army as well.  Th

Organizing the League.

The initial plan for the league was that it would be divided up into 6 rounds. Each round lasts a month, and has its own point’s value. At the start of each month parings would be decided and you play one game. Quite the traditional set up. But then I started having issues pop up:  A number of players let me know that they would have months they couldn’t play.  A number of players wanted to play more than one game per month. Some players had little to no experience playi

Introduction.

Within the Relm of Ghur, the land of untamed savagery there is area known as the Shrouded Fens. A vast land of Fens, forested swamps, peaty bogs, grassy Marshes. This whole area is nearly continuously covered in driving rains, dense fogs and Gales. But deep in these wild lands stories are told about relics of the world that was, cities of gold and forgotten knowledge.  Since the start of the Age of Chaos, servants of the dark powers have been clashing with the Orruks, of the Ironjawzs for contro

Ogroid ho!

Got this guy done this week - lovely model   pain in the butt to pain those  tatooes tho! Also got a game in vs the infamous Mark Wildman - it did not go well. I have a feeling that going from a hyper aggressive Overlord army to a very defensive chaos list is going to cause some mental clashing of gears

The battle of Mauvaises Graines: RAW17 backstory

Liberator Prime Stoneham cleaned the ichor from his warhammer and counted his troops: half a dozen Liberators, a couple of Judicators, and Judicator Prime Sparrowclaw. The assault on Marrowpeak had been successful, but at great cost: scorch marks revealed where lightning had burst the faithful back to Azyrheim, and the bodies of broken bloodbound lay heaped around each crater. “Sparrowclaw, get everyone together. We need to find a realmgate to take us back to the musterhalls.” The Judicator

Halflings crush Khorne!!! + Hobby Update

Alright guys here's to another blog update! Quite honestly not much got done during the week, but I accomplished to make the basic combs and wattles for all my chickens! There's still a little bit of greenstuff work to do, but the basis is there.  I also got a few games of Age of Sigmar this Saturday (haven't played in about a month), both skirmish and 1000 point Matched Play.

How to Build your Free City

Hey Everyone!  The Warhammer Community team released an article earlier this week on generating a random Free City (Check out the original article here).  The concept really captured my imagination so I wanted to dive into creating a randomly built Free City within Age of Sigmar using the Charts from the Article as well as various other tools online.  I might even paint up a hero or unit to represent a city in the future, but my current project is taking up all my time so a side project like tha

The Death Watch- Brother Holtz

Frederick Holtz grew up in the shadow of Sigmar himself. The son of a nameless courtesan in the pleasure-houses of Azyr, he was raised as a ward of the State in the prestigious Starhammer Academy, not far from the high palaces of Azyrheim. Starhammer was where the elite future soldiers of the God-King were raised, and in the course of his upbringing Holtz had the chance to see Sigmar three times when the deity came to speak to the students about their duties as the leaders of tomorrow's wars. He

Weekly Hobby Update : 9-27-17

Hey everyone!  Today I want to show you my completed Blades of Khorne army.  I managed to finally wrap up the painting last week and the basing over the weekend.  It is always exciting to complete an army and really give you a lot of satisfaction on seeing the army laid out as a whole.  I have seen some hobbyists who take a well-deserved break after completing an army to prevent burnout, but for me, the opposite effect happens and I get really excited to jump into my next project.  Thankfully I

Elgi-Bar´s code

Just like the major sky ports, the leaders of Elgi-Bar also interpret the Kharadron Code to reflect thier own way of warfare and trade.  When batteling with an army from Elgi-Bar, they follow the Code in the following ways:  Artycle Defend your territory - Your units doesn´t need to make any battleshock tests while being in thier own territory. Amendment Trust to your guns - Your units add 1 to thier Bravery as long as there are no enemy units within 3" of them Foot

Stirbiorn Mithrilcog is like many other Kharadron Overlords from Elgi-Bar poorer than his peers. Even thought having a long term employment as navigator and cartographer in the Rereksfjord´s company, he still saves his wealth to afford one of Barak-Nar´s high preforming nav-suits.  Until then Stirbiorn gladly contributes his skills in mapping the skies over Ghur and find out the fastest route for the trade between outposts for the company.  During expeditions Stirbiorn  have to do with his wel

GHB 2017 Experience One Month Later

So it's been a month since the Generals Handbook 2017 came out. I gave an initial battle report in my last blog entry, and now on the eve of my 3 week holiday, I figure now is as good a time as any to write down some further thoughts. Since my initial battle, I've managed to get in another 3 games. 2 of them were using the Matched Play scenarios, while the other one used the Open War cards.  I've been using the following Free Peoples list during these outings:   Game 1 - Sy
