  1. It's ironic for me as Wanderers was my first expansion in AOS from Dark Elves and O&G, followed by some High Elves. Ah well, all good things come to an end. They'll still be useable in CoS for a few more years. I suppose a couple of units, like SotT and SotW, may move to Kurnothi, but I'm not holding my breath. At least Dark Elves seem to be secure, and O&G have a future in Gitz and Warclans, so lots to be grateful for. Always best to look on the positive.
  2. This hobby can last a lifetime, so in thirty years you'll still have some early models.
  3. I've had this odd feeling about Wanderers since the rules for Misthavn dropped. It's not that you can't take Wanderers, you can, it's that they don't count towards units set up in the "Underhand Tactics" Allegiance ability. It feels like the first hint of a change coming, but whether that's Wanderers turning away from CoS and towards Sylvaneth, or a gradual disappearance, I'm not sure. Here's hoping for the former or the status quo.
  4. I would like to see Shadespire return out of the mists of time, as the Necroquake finally breaks the curse that Nagash placed upon it. They're back and looking for revenge!
  5. I still have them and yes they are terrible in comparison to today. But I would never consider repainting them. They are part of my hobby history and memories, and chart my painting progress. Without them, how can you really appreciate how much you've improved? If you don't want to put them on the table, get some replacements to paint up and play with. They will still be there if you need a reminder of improvement, or simple nostalgia for fondly remembered events.
  6. Or the Mercenary Bands that made a brief appearance, but now have sadly almost disappeared.
  7. That is the constant trade off - detail against time. I must admit I have found contrast paints very useful in cutting down time without compromising too much on look. Faces are always tricky. Either a wash of Reikland Fleshshade over Cadian Fleshtone or Guilliman Flesh contrast over Wraithbone both go a long way, I find, then highlight to taste depending on whether it's a unit of thirty or a single Hero. My problem is finding it hard to stop even when the detail will be lost on the tabletop anyway.
  8. It also means you'll never run out of names for them, however many you collect.
  9. Would love to field my old Pump Wagon again! I will probably buy the Bloodbowl team anyway just for the models.
  10. Unless they put them in the battalion that allows you to re-deploy the whole battalion anywhere outside 9" before the start of turn one.
  11. If you get 5 per unit, you can always have all your crossbowmen in feathered hats and all your guardsmen in helmets. Each unit will have a universal look and be easily distinguishable from the others. If they share the same colour scheme, the overall army look will be fine.
  12. I want to see Snotlings make a come-back, with new sculpts. They are to Mork what Nurglings are to Nurgle. Today Bloodbowl, tomorrow the Realms!
  13. They'll each think they're using the the other and they'll both be right.
  14. Don't forget that basic Grots do not have a sub-faction. There's still hope that Skragrott perhaps will get sub-faction rules in Broken Realms. I'm sure Gordrak will have some use for them in the Waaagh to end all Waaaghs.
  15. It is very noble of GW to offer so many internships in these troubled times.
  16. The Troggoths are £110 on their own, so if that's the cost of the box I'll probably buy it. I can always sell the Squiq part.
  17. When I get round to it, I will probably have one banner because... I like banners. Otherwise, I agree with your assessment; double hammers are not worth having.
  18. They've become more interesting for me now that Har Kuron exists, with 1 in 4 Dok available.
  19. As I understand it, the narcotic is taken in the Hero phase, but the deepstrike happens in the Movement phase so he couldn't be coked up until the turn after. Not particularly practical.
  20. Zoats way back in 3rd ed Fantasy were woodland creatures and Wood Elf Allies, It feels odd to think of them as part of the destruction faction. It's been a long time, though, so maybe they've changed; become less philosophical and more brutal perhaps.
  21. You can still take DoK allies in Cities, so perhaps some of them aren't happy with Morathi's usurping of Khaine.
  22. I'm interested in giving this city a go since I have models available (although in lockdown at mo so not sure when), but I don't think I'll be bothering with Drusa Kraeth and her Battalion. Not only is she a standard Sorceress on Black Dragon, but she is specifically a unique named character so you can't even give her an item. You also have to take a weak command trait if she is your General, although the way they worded this is strange given they'd already made her a unique named character which precludes traits anyway. For a Sorceress who is meant to be "the power behind the scenes", you would think she would at least get the D3 CP trait from Hidden Agendas. The other units are maxed at one each, which will do little for drops and the 160 points, plus a minimum of 490, do not, in my mind, justify the benefits gained. Just another Cities Battalion that seems to miss the mark. If she could take traits and items, I'd be more interested. At least then, you could build a list around her. I'm all for narrative, but the narrative has to be credible.
  23. Sounds good. They'd be fanatically loyal to overcome the suspicion, with an unremitting determination to reclaim their city. That would make for a nice lore to build an army around. I'm not sure how it exactly turns out (trying to avoid lore spoilers), but it woud be great if the city is split in two, with each side holding one section and a no-mans-land in between.
