  1. And it looks like a cross of woe staves for the wood. So goofy and amazing.
  2. So cool. What are the parts? I want to make one.
  3. I too have purchased and painted an underdog in Archaon. The big models are amazing to paint as you discover the details along the way.
  4. The bust with the fish on 683A is my favorite. I like the pallette of earthy tones with green and blue.
  5. You never get any comments here so I will write one. I listen to all of these while painting. Thanks for the content.

Got me thinking blue and orange for my next army. Love it.
  7. The command abilities that I value with seraphon are: Old blood on carnosaur (for turning himself and saurus heroes with relic blades into killing machines. ) Slaan (for mobility and anti-shooting) Maybe lord kroak (too random but can still affect the priority rolls. This can stack with the star seer ability) I don't think anything else is worth taking for command ability.
  8. Looks great. Get a pot of stormhost silver and some technical gem paints to break up the colors and it will be complete.
  9. What about a reverse warmachine? The machine itself is simply a big wheelbarrow full of spiked metal balls (being pulled by a brute) and the crew are brutes who themselves do the chukkin of the balls. The metal balls are explosive of course so they do mortal wounds when they hit in the shooting phase and if the wheelbarrow dies it gets a squig explosion rule to deal mortal wounds.
  10. The retrospective idea is great. A section in the back where they talk about what worked, what didn't work, and why they changed what they did and the effects they hope it will have on the future.
  11. I'll echo the battleline comments. A few more units should be inherent battleline. I also have an idea for battleline. Let's call it "general's battleline". There could be a system where if you take a model as a general it opens up some options for battleline. This could be written on the warscroll for the hero. "If you take this model as a general in matched play, the following units become battleline: x,y,z. Toss it on the bottom of the warscroll. Many will be against muddying up the warscroll and that is a legitimate concern. As is the thought of making printed warscrolls "outdated". But I'd propose that if anyone wishes to discuss the "general's battleline" idea that I propose here they ignore those and focus on the idea as it relates to gameplay and list construction. It does add one more thing to consider when list building, but does not ask too much more than is asked now. And please understand I don't propose doing this for every hero. Maybe 2-3 per grand alliance. Gordrakk is a good opportunity to play with this as the unifying force of destruction. This would be thematic. Also: GW probably intends to look at the points on every GHB release. This means that the surveys that S&W are doing will be very valuable. We do a little bit of work as a community, they do a bunch of work as talented developers, and everyone gets a better game. I'm very pleased with my return to GW products. Thanks for this thread.
  12. And indeed some units only get a bonus on a natural 6. Ironjawz Warchanter for example.
  13. I started working on this conversion today. I was too excited to not assemble him immediately. I also regret this immediately. His name is Morkhead. I added a skull mask and two extra pieces of cloth. This is Morkhead after the first yellow glaze. I'll build up the yellow and do a layer then highlight. I think I will paint the skull and smoke green to show his proximity to gorkamorka and the waaagh. But he may look like a greenbay packer.
  14. Excuse the first huge post. Here is the progress on my army. You can first see the brutes, then the ardboyz, then the gruntaz and dragon. I had them on green bases to be oldschool. But I am an artist and could not bear to do something that makes no sense, even for nostalgia. Bases must be a neutral color. I went with meadow bases. The flowers tie the army together. I do not like the shields on the ardboyz. They are too small. So I attached the shields to the ardboyz faces instead of the hand. The megaboss is called Rustfoot Facekicker. The brute boss is called Bonetaker. I am happy that I have models up to tabletop standard on my first try. I am getting faster at painting, understanding the behaviors of the various paints, learning new skills, and doing some conversions. I have tried new skills like wet blending and glazing and am starting to understand.
  15. I'll try to go to Waupaca with Ironjawz for match play on Sunday. It will be good to return to central Wisconsin where I grew up and play a tournament for the first time since 2002.
  16. I like the deep forest look and was thinking of doing some fyreslayers from the woods with bases like this. Can you list the foliage and leaves materials that you used on the base?
