The Rumour Thread

That's a pretty unrealistic approach. We all know new ed box = new sweet and cool toys.

Last time I tuned into one of GWs 'big' reveals it was for MESBG and well....turned out all they were showing was a forgeworld diorama (a pretty bad one at that) so I like to temper expectations when it comes to GW announcements now.

Especially more so when its just pre-announcing an announcement.

SO hyped!!!
I am calling it now the Sigmar Lied text is more than simply the Skaven or Forging process this edition is going to be about shaking confidence in Sigmar. I don't think it will become a grim dark setting but I think that the unity of Order will be shattered with the Skaven representing the way Chaos emerges in systems of order. Nagash will feel vindicated and of course with Destruction working on the gates Azyr will be laid open.

You cannot compare a specialist game led by Forge with the main fantasy game led by GW itself. I agree if it were for MESBG you would probably be right, but not for AoS. Expect a box with everything new.

"SIGMAR LIED"

My guess is that the lie is about the alleged "flaw" in the reforging process. We've known since Malign Portents in 2018 that the Stormcast have been lied to about why they lose their memories. For reference check out the Malign Portents story "The Price of Apotheosis"
So we are most likely getting the Ruination Chamber at last. Bring on the lightning gheists!

Ok, now Im kinda worried. Didnt want to annoy him, but now I have to know, whats going on with the weapon teams @Whitefang? Are they all 4 getting an update, just some, or they all are going to get cutted? Pretty please-please?

The weapon teams are very old and not in plastic. It's a shame that the plastic warpfire thrower from IoB never was released seperatly.

Maybe there will be 1 plastic set for all the weapon teams or maybe the weapon teams are removed for streamlining reasons. I suspect that the new jezzail kit wil have two weapon options, the long range option they have now and then some ratling gunlike thing for short range and huge amount of shots. In the same way as various shooting units have a long and short range option.

I know the consensus has usually been against Sigmar getting a Model, but what If he came out to play this edition to redeem himself. Reverting a little back into Sigmar the Barbarian at the head of the Ruination Chamber.

A man can dream.

Nah, him staying off the tabletop is a good decision.

What the hell actually is this. Why have I never seen this before. Why is gw so bad at letting AOS lore be available to find . This completely changes the soul wars book im reading atm which focus on the reforging process and the storm casts feelings on it and figuring out the flaw.

Do you want him to lose again the Ghal Maraz? Nope! Better leave him alone playing, with his plastic sigmarite toys, the never-ending war

I dont think the lie is about Skaven existing as theyre very obviously present in AOS.

Besides the Reforging process it will probably have to do with Azyr being impregnable.

Skaven have aleady entered Azyr before, perhaps this time they left the door open...

Yep, it's one of the short stories that led  up to the soul wars novel. One of the most pivotal bits of context in the whole setting, and GW just put it out there as a but of marketing fluff and haven't even kept it on their website. Things like the Blacktallon tv show suggest it's still canon though, and it's one hell of a lie...

I really hope that the lie they are referring to is this and its starting to come out . not saying i want stormcast civil war heresy stile but a splinter within them who are loosing faith in sigmar would be interesting, which could be mirrored within the cities with the failure of the dawnbringers

They released it as a print book but only at some very limited print run only given away at a single US event the year after it was put out on the website.

The Malign Portent shorts were some of my favourite things that they have put out for AoS and they've never made the print version available outside of this event.

You know what comes from underground? Tunnelling machines! You know who use those? Chaos Dwarfs!

Leave me with my delusions.

Don't worry, soon the Mortal Realms would know about the benefits of the industry.

My dude, are you comparing a fairly minor (now) game that appears to be winding down (though admittedly I don't pay it much attention so may be wrong there) of GWs to their 2nd largest game which is preparing for the new edition announce?

If Vandus gets a new Model, it really could be him saying those words. Iirc he seems to be one of those stormcast suffering under the reforging.

Hello everyone, long time lurker and first time posting here. What a great day this is!! Finally our beloved rats are getting the spotlight, and as someone who’s been tempted to collect stormcasts before (as my username might imply) and thinks that the inherent flaws reforging brings out from them is quite fascinating I couldn’t be more excited for the Ruination chamber!

My personal wild theory without any evidence it’s that I believe Vandus will die at the hands of Khul at the end of Dawnbringers VI (Might be what finally makes Khul into a Daemon Prince). Vandus will be reforged, but due to his previous reforgings and worsening spirit (and whatever is happening with the lighting man from his visions) this will be his last reforging. He will be assigned as the Leader of the Ruination Chamber, and sent on a suicide mission against the Vermintide!

Welcome! Pretty solid theory indeed. Vandus would play a key role in 4th ed for sure, and someone has to lead the Ruination Chamber. It could be him or Ionus himself, as he is playing an important role in the reforging cure.
