The Seraphon look incredible, especially the new Saurus. 

 

But as a Death player it’s the new vamps that I’m here for and they look great!  The werewolf critter looks awesome, can’t wait to paint that guy.  The vampires remind me of the Nagash’s throne room art in the Legions of Nagash book, where in the foreground we can see some (we assume they are) vampires in robes and carrying spears.  I always thought that would be a pretty cool look for a unit of foot vampires so I’m glad to see it!

New Seraphon stuff is amazing!!!! If it is less than half of the release and we look at what S2D got, I would guess 7-8 new kits. I agree with everyone else that I can't see the stuff shown in the pictures being remade, so I think Carnosaur, Bastilidons, Stegadons and the terradon/ripperdactyl are staying as is. (They aren't terrible kits to begin with) I also feel like the skink kits are new and decent enough to stay. In my opinion with the new raptor kits, the Skink side of the army seems pretty full. I definitely think we will see the Saurus side expanded upon. So lets here some guesses?

I'll go with:

1. New Slann

2. New Saurus Warriors 

3. New skink Calvary 

4. * New Saurus on cold ones or possibly new creature for them to ride. 

5. Leader Saurus on calvary or monster  

6. Foot hero, Maybe new asterolith bearer or Warden

7. Kroxigor

8. Razordon/Salamander kit

5. Saurus Guard kind of have to been redone now that they did Warriors since otherwise the difference would be to big

7. Salamanders/Razordon dual kit

8. Saurus hero since only having the Slann as a leader for a big wave would be strange, probably Eternity Warden

 

But if I can dream plastic Dread Saurian  now that the resin one is gone

I think this speaks to the strength and diversity of AoS. We can have a whole preview of stuff that we are not personally interested in, but go "I don't want to buy this, but I appreciate it for the game, lore and worldbuidling." instead of "Oh great, it's just Space Marines again."

Thank you! Marines use bolt weapons or higher. Heavy stubbers are for Necromunda gangs, Planetary Defence Forces and Genestealer Cults, not the Emperor's (second) finest.

I kinda love how we both chose the same color scheme for our armies, though I changed mine to Green and blue to avoid confusion with my Slaanesh army. Those new vampires are amazing! They have just the right amount of both awesome and goofiness to fit in almost any army, plus they’re in Halloween colors (orange, black, and white). I’m going to pick up at least 3 of them once the solo kit drops.

The Khorne warband on the other hand, just makes @MitGas’s usual point even more obvious: Tzeentch needs a proper elite mortal unit. We could’ve gotten a unit of shapeshifters/infiltration specialists to go along with the Curseling! And instead we got the admittedly awesome Jade Obelisk group, who’re a mixture of range and anti-fortification specialists (it’s a weird mix).

I think everyone is on the right page. I think in terms of likeliness it'll be the following

4. Saurus Guard 

5. Saurus Knights with new mounts, probably a 2 pack like mournfang

6. Kroxigors

7. New big monster centerpiece unit. C'mon actual Thunder Lizard. 

8. Some foot hero, probably saurus. I'm going with Astrolith Bearer

In the twitch stream they did talk about how new eggs were hatching in the temple ships providing new species to the Seraphon.

Well the seraphon really deserve this range update and it looks good. Very happy for them. If I had to be negative (and I do) It makes me weep for my poor single hero beastmen release lol.

The only other thing I cared about was the khorne warband (I was wrong that armband blade was khorne) and I think the leader of the war and looks absolutely amazing. Given the chance I will get him (and only him the rest of the warband is pretty bland and the big running guy really should have just been a khornegor or closer to one) to convert into another very khornate beastlord!

 

Edit: On that note since so many people are in love with the new vamps if anyone is planning on buying the box and would be willing to sell the khorne hero alone I would be very very interested in him! (I guess maybe the khorne half instead but I'll be honest I just want the leader) even better if they want to trade it for some Skaven or something else I have.

Im so hyped for you mate, I myself am jumping for joy and considering finally biting the bullet and collecting Seraphon as my old Lizarmen army had basically all the minis that are now being updated!!

If we get a Thunder Lizard though thats me done. Full Dino Riders Army here we come!!

As well as the Lizards I feel these 2 in particular arent being spoken of enough.

That Vampiric Samurai Wolf is just an insane model and proves that Warcry is one of the best creative outlets for the designers. I love Vampires, I love wolves, Im buying that Warband.

THE POSE ON THE KHORNE WARRIOR... just wow!! It really captures the bestial nature of the Warband and that pose is so striking for me its visually a damn feast.

My bet is on a ton of new stuff, and not much updating off the old. I really hope i'm wrong, or that if they cull some of the older line they are unwilling to update. Seeing some of those old, awful finecast sculpts in the battletomes/ table always bums me out as a collector. Learned that the hard way with ogres, thinking they would release altnerate/ updated sculpts for things like Yehtti, butcher or gorgers.

So at this point Nightmare quest is all but confirmed to be Slaanesh vs Destro. I'd like several other things more but my bets on a full unit of loon knights like the Underworlds band. Would be an excellent time to update the ardboyz kit imo and with the kruleboyz look or add a unit to the gitmob aesthetic roster. Fimir would truly be a fantastic surprise as well. 🤤

Like your guesses. 16 and 25 seem to be from the silhouetted Horus Heresy preview though. (Potentially a Traitor Assassin?) And 12 from Farsight's base.

I still think there's a chance that it's Beastmen over Hedonites, due to what's highlighted on the Gnarlwood map (Skinslough Fen = Nurgle, The Wyrdlights = Tzeentch, Bloodmad Ravage = Khorne, but The Tainted Wound = Beastmen, per the core book).

@KingBrodd, that Samurai Wolf is my second favorite model of the kit, right behind the Vampire-Ninja Ronin. Never have I been more excited to have been wrong about a release! Here’s hoping that the Slaanesh and Destruction warbands in the next box keep the hype going.

I don't know how much this is true but the youtuber Valrak heard a Seraphon boxset and a Cities of Sigmar boxset are coming

he recently had almost all of his "predictions" correct for 40K (for a big part of 2023), so his source may have seen the cities (?)

I do hope for a boxset with the all new sculpt

Valrak gets more credit than he's owed. He gets a fair bit of stuff wrong, but people only seem to remember when he's right. 

Considering how many army boxsets we've had recently, it'd be more of a surprise if they weren't getting one (see: World Eaters).
