  1. Why do you think Gotrek is worried about 1 mortal wound?
  2. I think it'll be the third option: Katakros and Archaon fight long and hard. Archaon being Archaon gains the upper-hand, but before he can finish Katakros and his armies, Gordrakk shows up and headbutts both of them in the crotch. Archaon is severely injured by this and forced to fall-back. Katakros, being the bearer of the Codpiece of Destiny, is largely unharmed by the blow allowing him to escape with his armies mostly intact. At the end of the day, it's mostly a draw with Gordrakk being the only possible winner. Or sumfin' like dat.
  3. So was I the only one who loved Belakor's new warscroll? That ability to shut down a unit's actions seems insane since you just wait for that <<insert scary enemy here>> to get close to combat and then neuter them.
  4. I might start with an off-white under coat and then carefully add a watered-down yellow/brown wash to darken it up and bring out the crevasses between the scales.
  5. From reading the article, it's not really clear if everything can be marked going forward or only the same units as before. Guess we'll just have to wait for the preview videos this Saturday.
  6. Azyr let's you do 5, but then the warscroll in Azyr also says the minimum is 10. I would guess that 5 is what is intended especially since most units in their "weight class" can usually do 5 (Liberators and Sequitors are 5s, Ardboyz are now 5s but only battleline if 10 or more, etc) EDIT: I'm not sure what's technically correct though. It just seems like they intended to make 5 the minimum. My GHB is at home as well.
  7. I really don't agree with the (seeming) concensus that there will a Gargant faction coming up. I mean, yes, they did say some "giant" was coming, but I just don't see it happening soon. I guess it's more of a gut feeling than anything concrete. Also that last little "hysh-hysh" line is just another example of the GW dad-puns. That one almost definitely means nothing which is funny since Hysh Aelves would've been a likely new army in my opinion.
  8. The "giant" thing could also be a new Chaos War Mammoth to go with the S2D book coming out..... I can dream, right?
  9. A return to the idea of the godbeasts maybe?
  10. Honestly, these are a bit lame. To me, they seem like a halfway point between Untamed Beasts and Iron Golems. I don't see anything unique about them that pulls me in. They would be a fantastic replacement to regular chaos marauders, but I think they fall flat as a unique warband.
  11. I mainly just buy more from Amazon/eBay now. I also now actively avoid the official GW store in my area because they offer no form of discount. My other LGSs offer ~15% discounts so that keeps me going to them occasionally. Prior to the increases, I used to go to the GW sometimes (and even purchase things sometimes), and I bought online less frequently.
  12. Your best bet is to wait for the full book reviews that will go up on Saturday and just grab all that info before you make your pre-order decision.
  13. I love everything you said. People always complain about OP armies and then list like 6 OP armies. 6 competitive armies ain't bad for a list of T1s! Then everything else with a 2.0 tome is T2? Great! Most games can only hope for that level of balance across that much material. This game does a fantastic job considering the sheer number of armies with unique mechanics that there are to balance as well as the decent variety in scenario types. Balance can be hard to achieve with games that only have 3-4 armies and a single objective (i.e. starcraft). And yeah, things could be better and we should push for more balance of course, but you have to temper that with realistic expectations (given the amount of stuff there is to balance) and an appreciation for the state we're currently in. Criticism is only helpful when it's true and balanced.
  14. Well I can't really argue whether or not it is fun or a co-experience since that's really just opinion vs. opinion, but I would disagree that it's "too powerful" judging from tournaments. Seraphon win sometimes, but they're not exactly dominant. That said, I'd be all for the summoning and teleportation being toned down if the warscrolls also get updated to stand on their own feet. I suppose it's a bit like Idoneth in that there's 1 or 2 competitive builds that can be a bit much for casual play, but everything else is on the weak-side. I suppose this is a discussion better saved for the Seraphon thread though.
  15. So the only things keeping Seraphon competitive? Most Seraphon warscrolls kind of suck so without the objective-play shenanigans they wouldn't get by for long.
  16. Yeah, I plan most of my large hobby purchases decently far in advance. I often need more than a week or two to wait for the next paycheck with "spending" money in it.
  17. I think it's worth noting that healing is better in smaller games. There's less stuff in a 1k game to focus down your heroes/monsters than in a 2k game. I also find healing good even in larger games when it's on the periphery away from the main damage threats.
  18. Well run as in roll an extra d6, no. You already roll a d6 while retreating. Edit: Wow, I've misinterpreted this for a while now. Yeah, you can run during a retreat, I had always just taken that as the same thing. The distinction does matter though.
  19. I'm looking forward to finding ways to play the Phoenicium efficiently. It looks like it'll be a decent little challenge. I'm especially looking for ways to either force my opponent to make difficult target priority decisions in the combat phase by engaging on multiple fronts, or just trying to guarantee that I have something die early (Knight Incantor suicide or something like that). I'll of course also play it with the Phoenix battaltion just for fun!
  20. Much of Shyish is said to be desert. I would imagine any desert map would fit.
  21. I feel like in the US it's usually quite late (like 10pm pacific or something)
  22. Me too! Although I saw some screenshots of a Facebook post getting passed around the Cities of Sigmar Facebook page that seemed to show Battlemages on foot are making a comeback. Perhaps there's hope for the Excelsior Warpriest?
  23. Interestingly enough, the Runelord is the only unit in the new "Cities of Sigmar" store page that is classified as a Priest. I guess we're getting some Duardin Rune-Prayers?
  24. Thanks for looking into it. I honestly always use AoS reminders on that tablet, so initially I just assumed this was a wider issue. Sorry to make you chase a wild goose!
