So the end of the Gravelords model reveal video says "Conquerors of Undeath Coming May 2021" so we should have our new book and models in the next couple of weeks!!

I kind of hoped that that model was just some kitbash thing.

Not what I want from a vampire really. Dire wolves were nice to see, hopefully warscrolls all get updated with the exception possibly of Vhordrai as he’s the only one currently that feels like he hits as hard as a vampire lord should.

No Abhorash either which I didn’t really find surprising other than they went out of their way to allude to him in the blood knights article.
Lauka Vai, the Mother of Nightmares Vampires of the Avengorii dynasty seek to slake their thirst on the very largest and strongest prey – and they’re led to battle by Lauka Vai.

Lauka Vai is the undisputed commander of a murderous clan of beasts and monsters. Though she retains an aspect of noble knighthood, her dark thirst drives her to commit unspeakable acts of slaughter.

A hideous amalgamation of bat, drake, and humanoid body, Vai is nevertheless possessed with a sliver of self-control and even conscience. She remembers the pride she felt as a fierce warrior queen, and she hasn’t allowed herself to succumb completely to her instincts.
So are these the new Blood Dragons...?

As well as the Vyrkos bloodline.

Prophecy time: GW has put the old bloodlines more in the background and we get to play around with new, AoS bloodlines.

Seems like.  I won't lie, I was hoping for more.  Like, not a lot more, but a horse-mounted vampire lord, specialist vampire wizard, and a unit of vampire infantry (blood-born or otherwise).

Still, overally I remain very hype, and am surprised to find that I actually quite like the new vampire centaur chimera abomination, both special character and generic.  Will have to wait to see what the lore looks like.

anyone else with the feeling that Radukar the Beast looks like an expansion for Cursed City?

less so than with Kritza or Annika.  Cursed City already has a version of Radukar, and this new beastly radukar is on too large a base to fit on the cursed city grid.

Feels like we are in the exact same boat then. I like what I see...was just hoping for a lil' more...maybe not so many named characters.

Still remain hopeful...after all, the lack of Endless Spells is...suspicious.

Still no mention on engines and other units. Looking forward to more info on Battletome !

I was hoping for that, but with a May release (or at least a May pre-order) we won't be waiting long.

Kritza and Annika are both on cavalry bases too, not really suited for cursed city. They might be from ulfenkarn but the articles never mention the board game otherwise.

yeah, but this is Radukar after being slain in Cursed City, so some kind of expansion with custom rules/scenary could have been worked there. Or it's simply a version of Radukar for AoS. Wich also makes sense

I was definitely hoping for more 'generic' units. I understand they probably want to set up and push these new AoS-only Bloodlines, but it feels like most of the release are special characters... which might lend credence to the idea some of these were C*rsed C*ty releases hastily torn out of expansion boxes and are pretending they were always meant as something for AoS Soulblight alone.

Updating Skeleton Warriors and not Grave Guard's a definite weird one.

What's there is good, I wouldn't say I'm underwhelmed because that sounds more negative than I feel, but it's definitely not the scale or type of release I expected.

My impression is that Kritza and Annika are repackaged expansions for the dead game, but Radukar the Beast and Beladamma Volga were always intended as AoS releases to go along with and highlight the new dire wolf kit.

I feel really torn about the vangorian lord. On one hand i love it but on the other one i really like characters riding things. I think i could slap a head on the monster body and add legs to the rider

New elite infatery? Or just some skelletons?

that's what I was asking before. Looking now looks like they're just deathrattle skeletons

They're just the new Skeletons painted differently. If you look closely some have the same helmets.

I foresee a lot of 'Grave Guard' who're just the new Skeletons painted differently/converted a little.

So i get the argument that some of these could have originalyl been planned as Cursed City expansions. However the one wrinkle in this theory is that since Gravelords release is this month, that means the Battletome would have had to be printed a while ago, well before the Cursed City issues, right?

Anyways shifting gears back to todays reveals. Like others, I am slightly disappointed that we didn't see more generic Heroes and/or units. I have to assume there is some carry over from LoN. In the photo on the War-Comm article we see Vargheists, a Corpse Cart & a Terrorgheist. I assume we will have Black Knights carry over, especially since we are getting a new mounted Wight King. The only other real questions would be a Necromancer (likely since we have zombies), Coven Throne / Bloodseeker Palanquin (likely) and the Mortarchs (very likely). So basically this is LoN with some new named Heroes but (likely) dropping Arkhan, Morghast, MAYBE Grave Guard and Bat Swarms.
