Chikout
I think GW has stopped doing miniless books for AoS. With 15 factions getting allegiance abilities in Ghb2 it is safe to assume that those factions will not get a battletome for at least a year. They said the reason for not doing other factions was a lack of minis or a lack of ideas. Both would prevent the release of a new miniless book. There is chance that we will get a nurgle book but I think blight war is the stop gap release there. So much like Tzeentch we may see a full book plus minis next year. Aelves are definitely on the way. That said the lion cloak and mini dragon arm may both be from Shadespire. I would not be surprised to see a quiet winter followed by a very busy spring again. GW are doing a panel about Ghb2 at the nova open next week, during which they will talk a little about the future of aos. Hopefully they will show us more than just the season of war stuff. It does not leave much room for a new battletome unfortunately. P.s The order is definitely wrong but these are the releases that GW has already promised will come this year. Even if they announce nothing else, they will struggle to fit it all in to their usual release format. I think there's enough room to squeeze in one more release. Deathguard may only go for 2 weeks, and it's possible Admech may also land in the last week of Deathguard releases (It's not going to have any models attached to it, so not reason it couldn't slot in), you've got early-mid October to play around with before the Specialist Games bonanza kicks in. Shadespire is likely to be released/pre-order last weekend of October. No idea how the 'expansions' are gonna land, could be as simple as one every week throughout November, or just dump them all on us the week after. So plausibly, the release dates could look something like Aug 26 - GHB 2 Sep 2 - Blightware Sep 9 - Firestorm Sep 16 - Deathguard week 1 (40k Codex 4) Sep 23 - Deathguard week 2 Sep 30 - Deathguard week 3 + Admech (40k Codex 5) Oct 7 - ??? Oct 14 - ??? Oct 21 - ??? + Bloodbowl Elves Oct 28 - Shadespire Nov 4 - Shadespire expansion races Nov 11 - 40k Codex x2 (40 Codexes 6 and 7) Nov 18 - Necromunda Nov 25 - Necromunda Extra Dec 2 - Army bundles, terrain, 40k Codex (40k Codex 8) Dec 9 - 2x 40k Codex (40k Codexes 9 and 10) Dec 16 - Chapter Approved Dec 23 - Dunno, some small stuff? May be something like Made to Order or something. Personally I don't think we're going to see many new 40k models this year other than Deathguard. Necromunda will scratch the itch in some ways for 40k players, and probably save some new race for January release.

Blades of Khorne was the latest Battletome and that didn't have any new models. I actually don't think there's a hard and fast rule on new model releases any more. The only thing we can be certain of is we won't see a new Battletome (or Codex) with rules for models that don't exist in some format.

Since AoS released only Chaos has gotten kits that aren't part of a completely new faction (that I can recall, yes Sylvaneth and Ironjawz do count as completely new factions) So there is still a possibility they just choose not to update existing factions (other than replacing them with Suspiciously Similar Counterparts ala Fyre Slayers, Kharadrons, Iron Jaws) personally I would be very surprised if they don't revisit the old factions (especially Skaven) but we won't KNOW until we see what the first release after shadow elves is. Kronos
Sorry if already posted, I spotted these in the artwork, a GUO in the bak of the Bligh War Next week page banner. Uo seems to have like a tentacle beard or tongues, maw arm lik the glotkin and a sword, or at least a hilt. and the other is what looks to be like a new type of nurgle daemon, its in the new artwork from the Death Guard. Chikout
Regarding the artwork and black library. There was a spell when GW was very tightly controlling both these parts of the company in order to insure that they only depicted available minis. Recently I believe they have given the writers and artists a bit more leeway to use their imagination. So now writers are encouraged to make pitches to GW about what they want to write rather than just following a tight brief from GW. (Books like dark Imperium are probably an exception to this). Artists are allowed to create characters to fill in the back ground and give flavour to the piece. That picture may have been inspired by a new guo model but, I would temper you excitement somewhat. shinros
New short story up, currently reading it. It''s quite a good short read in my opinion. Auction of Blood Summer of Reading: Day Five Sent to an illicit auction in a city of Order, a servant of the Soulblight Queen Neferata finds his simple mission may be more complicated – and deadly – than he imagined. READ IT BECAUSE It ties into the novel 'Eight Lamentations: Spear of Shadows', and features hints about everyone's favourite queen of the dead, Neferata. THE STORYPalem Bok is a humble collector of the arcane, a trader of sorts but a resourceful one. He has to be, for Bok is also a spy for the Queen of Mysteries, Neferata herself! Sent to an illicit auction in Greywater Fastness, his mission is the retrieval of an esoteric item for his vampiric mistress. But Bok soon finds that this seemingly simple task is far more dangerous than he bargained for. City of secrets is a good stand alone novel to introduce you to this phase of the lore if you do read that book first then the realm gate wars series you will then have an understanding of what the stormcast had to do to get to that point. GW even made an image for people getting started. http://www.blacklibrary.com/aos-reading-order.html Also mortarch of night is essentially the hunt for nagash series and knights of vengeance audio drama in book form BUT I recommend if you can you get the audio drama versions. I would actually recommend listening to the podcast Garagehammer's reviews of the bottom half of the image (Quest for Ghal Maraz, Balance of Power, Godbeasts, and Sir not appearing in this image, All-Gates). I mean, you could buy them, but that actually costs money. David is pretty exuberant about the fluff and gives thorough coverage of it. Really hard not to recommend the podcast if you aren't looking for competitive AoS.
