  1. I really love your color scheme for all of this! Do you have a table painted like that too?
  2. nice! you used bits from the garden of morr right?
  3. Nice! Are you building your own garden of morr?
  4. @ArcheiosAggelos they look great! It's cool to see some "good guys" warbands, with that nice variety of looks and not just the same uniform / size for every model. It always seems so much easier to convert cool stuff when you make chaos models, or maybe it's just my personal taste... Can't wait to see the other models painted. It's also cool that you have a campaign with some npcs, I'd love to play games with that kind of rpg feel, that makes the setting feel much more alive. As for something I'd like to see more of, if you have some terrain I am VERY interested, as I am in the process of trying some stuff out for my first real gaming table

Very nice! I've read your fluff and I love the idea for this guy- feels very unique and like something out of realms of chaos, characterful and with that nice bit of randomness. based on the illustration you posted that you said inspired you, I wonder if it might look cool to have a white eye shining in that empty socket - might give that crazed vibe... just my 2 cents other than that this is a seriously cool model with a great paintjob, well done.
  6. This looks really cool! I hope you're still making it The modular warmachine terrain you linked too is also really awesome, too bad it stopped being updated...
  7. @bottle don't know if you're looking for this but I'd love to contribute to Hinterlands. While I don't play much at all I am an artist and I'd love to have a project that lets me do some dark fantasy illustrations. I know I'm far from the level of GW illustrators but I want to work on realistic drawings, and if I can offer some illustrations for your Hinterlands book I'd be thrilled Here are some illustrations I did during my latest Mordheim kick three years ago (holy ****** time flies) : http://pierremortel.tumblr.com/post/86904484006 I don't know if I'd be able to do big scenic drawings (though I'd love to try) but I know I can manage small decorative illustrations like there used to be in the old GW rule books. You know, a crow on a couple of skulls, a far away warrior contemplating a ruined tower, a mysterious treasure chest, that kind of stuff... I understand that style is a matter of taste so no worries if you're not interested, and additionally to anyone reading this, if you need a couple of drawings feel free to ask me and I'll try to provide!
  8. Here's 2 other guys that are 90% done, I'll post them up with some flavor text when they're fully finished. Can't seem to be able to format well on mobile so here they are in order : the swine thief, The inbred fear-serf ,and my most recent kit-bash, the Deserter. I know the pictures are not great but I'm open to any criticism and tips, about painting or converting
  9. So I've actually made some decent progress on my painting, but I still have some detail work to do. I'll get to taking a few WIP shots, but in the meanwhile here's a black and white photo of my simplest mini, just a ghoul with a zombie head and a snail on its back. I also wrote some flavor text (more on my tga blog) : As the path crossed a small clearing, Harek stopped and turned to look behind him. The forest was quiet. Just the dripping tune of a hidden creek down in the depth of the valley, and up in the peaks, the wind howling. Yet he felt watched. Maybe the darkness was getting to him. Barely any light passed through the thick canopy of the giant pines. was something moving behind that tree? Just a bark-snail leeching off a rotten stump... with slightly unsteady hands he made the sign of the traveller's blessing, as much to calm himself as to ward off any evil spirits. The village should only be a few hours away now. Soon he'd be by a hot fire with a cold ale, and forget about that bloody Pale Eyes grove. He adjusted his pack and began walking again. Silence returned in the small clearing. A form slithered from old roots, bleak limbs briefly gleaming in the weak light, and disappeared again in the shadows along the path. Pale eyes faded in the dark.

Pale eyes faded in the dark. ***** Stalkers like this one are the half-mad slaves of Moldek, the Fear-God. A lifetime ago they caved in to absolute terror, maybe running from cruel marauders, stuck down a dark cliff with a broken leg, or simply devoured by their inner demons. Moldek called to them, led them to a hiding place, a burrow, damp and dark. He let them cower while he whispered inside their minds, his snails climbing over their huddled bodies. They haunt the darkest reaches of the forest in small packs or alone, looking for carrion or easy prey to feed off of. Sometimes they'll venture into farms or hamlets at night, to take a child or slaughter some cattle. In their dark caves, they whisper in a grotesque shadow of their former language, tormented by unseen terrors, while the leech-snails come to feed.

as always, awesome! the head is very well done. I've been trying my hand at sculpting but I think I lack method, it's always too rough, and the details are not crisp enough.
  12. This is really cool. Please continue, and post pictures with the images that inspired you next to them
  13. @Giuseppe gdb I love this! I can Imagine this as the pet of some creepy socialite lady, with a taste for the grotesque, or maybe as part of a duo of henchmen for a mad wizard, the other one being a big ogre-like bodyguard with a small animal's head... @Moonlightwolf this is a great warband concept, I love the idea of some peasants carrying around a strangers slowly rotting corpse in a pathetic quest to pay a life debt!

    Xlanax Lot Starblood's Prey

Just saw your other reply, that's a very cool breakdown! I should try to approach my minis with more of a plan in mind, even if I'm far from your level yet

haha that's pretty cool, like a lizard reflection of skryre technology.

    The cursed sheep

Hey @Nin Win, yeah this is for a small warband following a minor deity who preys on fear! Most of the members have at least a demonic snail leeching off of them, and some are being slowly swallowed inside a bigger shell. The idea is that their god is letting them hide under his shadow but is slowly draining them of energy and sanity at the same time... so the more they are afraid, the more they let him take over, which only increases their paranoia...
  18. Here is the first mini of my project. It's not GW, actually it's just a toy farm animal but I think it sets the tone of this project quite well; this is not about gigantic hordes fighting high stakes battles for control of the realms. This is about skirmishes on the fringe of civilization, mutants raiding small farms, corrupted cattle, and all that "aesthetic of the pathetic" I keep hearing about!
  19. Hello ca pourrait m'intéresser, particulièrement si c'est possible de jouer de l'escarmouche
  20. @urion well you may not like them but they look sufficiently menacing! It's crazy how dark the sylvaneth got compared to 15-20 years ago... As for me I can't paint this weekend but here's one of my recent figs. There's nothing GW except the base, and if I had to use it in a game it probably would be a zombie... the base is not done yet but I think the paint job is ok, although I'd love some honest feedback
  21. @AlexRasmussen I love your Khorne gals! I feel that Khorne is often reduced to big red guys with axes, it's really nice to see something different. Very cool! I just got started this week as a returning hobbyist, and finding this forum pushed me over the edge to start a small warband for skirmish and narrative play. I'm enjoying the freedom that comes with the vastness of the Aos universe, and I'm working on some fluff. Basically my group are the ragged followers of a minor Chaos demon who preys on scared creatures. He offers a hiding place to the fugitives running from blood thirsty soldiers, lost cattle chased by wolves, mutants lost and homeless. And in exchange they serve him, bring him stolen offerings or captives. I have a lot more to say about all that but I'll wait until I actually complete some of my figs before throwing wall of text at al of you
