You can change ONE thing BUT…

Recommended Posts

… it can‘t have anything to do with your faction! It could be rules, miniature releases, updates or changes, background, kits… what would you do?

I‘d want more basic terrain in plastic, hills, cliffsides, swamps, whatever, maybe even printed neoprene mats. I figure all these things don‘t sell too well as there have been more generic offerings in the past by GW but I think they would help a lot of tables. There‘s only so much you can do with ruined buildings and lightweight terrain building is difficult enough that most people don‘t bother.

I would love all factions to get equal support, be it mini releases or lore presence. It just feel bad to see SCE get a whole range of newish models squatted while half the ancient models i own still need updates.

I think I've expressed this view before on here, but I'd love to see rules and lore split up. Rules are all available to download (free would be nice, but realistically I'd guess at a cost is more viable). These are updated  regularly. Hell, if there's still a demand for actual paper publication of rules, do it as simple pamphlet-like things.

The lore would be published in big, beautiful coffee-table style books. With lots of art. With a hefty price tag. These don't need to be updated much as such, just new volumes released.

I'm not sure if that counts as ONE thing, but it's what I'd do if I ruled the world!

My take:

Assemble a new working team from the Specialist Studio and make Imperial Armoury-like campaigns based on the Mortal Realms.

So, a few new kits and awesome books, with a lot of world building, new characters, a bunch of subfactions and maybe even alternative lists.

(Note: I don't care about balance).

I think this would be my biggest wish too for AoS. That each faction gets equal support and not that some armies are neglected for years.

No Wizards as generic infantry for anyone besides Tzeentch or, alternatively no mortals outside of magic and melee combat.

The first few words gave me a heart palpitations, mate.

Thankfully after "besides" I could function properly again!

Yeah, Tzeentch should be extremely good sorcerers with tricks and debuffs, but they should fold easily in melee too. The Lumineth shouldn’t have what should be Tzeentch’s thing.

Well, there have been some pretty strong melee fighters among Tzeentchians too but yeah, in general most Tzeentchians aren't amazing in CC and there need to be some drawbacks somewhere (they could do it via points though). I figure Tzeentch might get such a unit when they get a mortal elite one day. At least I hope so but I'm now breaking my own very own rules in this thread if I continue. 😂 I think others like Lumineth having such units isn't wrong though (they are supposed to be extremely gifted mages after all), it's just feels really wrong that Tzeentch hasn't got them and the overabundance of mortals isn't great fun for the receiving player. I think spells could (and perhaps should) move away from mortal wounds as the standard as well. Not every spell should have damage that qualifies as a mortal wound IMO.

Not my faction, but I want a refresh of all the Daemons. Especially after realms of ruin made Tzeentch look cool again, I want all the basic daemons to be refreshed even though I will never play them.

Even though I'm quite happy with the current Slaanesh Daemon models, I'd love to see what a glow-up could bring. More dynamic poses, for one thing.

A fundamental shift in how rules/lore are delivered. I would like for AoS to move away from the Battletome format. Not only do I think they are slow and cumbersome, they are expensive and due to the nature of rule updates often out of date shortly after release. They are also pretty limiting regarding where the design studio can go.

I almost said this, I really feel like we are at the point that 99% of wargamers can handle using an app or some form of digital rules in place of these. If not, they can ask a friend to print it for them. One Page Rules and Conquest have done it with success.

Funnily enough, I actually think there should be a "consolidation" of published material but an increase in faction/sub-faction diversity. Allow for the exploration of Mortal Kingdoms that aren't necessarily associated with the established Gods. Or are, but not just to Sigmar.

That's exactly why I think an Imperial Armoury-like books, but completely based on AoS, would be one of the best things for the game:

  • Use most of the AoS models.
  • Resin/plastic kits for characters and big and weird stuff that wouldn't be part of the main AoS game.
  • Books about themed armies (aka, subfactions) and world building stuff that is not part of the main AoS show.

And being part of the specialist team, all this campaign books wouldn't follow a regular pipeline (at least, not as strict as the Main Studio). Just let Matt Rose take a look at the rules before going to print and move on.

To avoid making it about my current faction (Beasts) stop squatting and bring back the squatted.

You, good sir, get a free pass. Bring BOC back!

Consistancy regarding rules across a faction.

For example gutrippaz have the  skare taktiz ability but killabosses do not.

Another example would be deathrattle skeleton legions ability that reggy skellies have but not grave guard or black knights.

Consistancy please!

A return of the Throne of Chaos kits + THE BOOK ITSELF!!!!!

This, Though I would say, I want the Saga of Son’s of Great Kurgan to continue, and culminating in some form of Return of the Great Kurgan himself.
