@leitbur711 Looks like an oversight when culling the old wording because of the new enhancement approach.

Definitely worth sending into the FAQ email (AoSFAQ@gwplc.com)  

It seems likely someone didn't realize a part of the subfaction's uniqueness was in that line as the rest are identical.

Honestly, this, the thing about Sylvaneth and Kharadon coalition, the overwatch change... It does make you think that changes in this FAQ were done without much thought and proofreading by any CoS player. As usual I'd guess.

It is not the most competitive list, however I think it will do quite well. Most of the damage will be made by gotrek who gets healed 2d3 per turn and if needed gets fly or plus to rum and charge by the battlemage. Evocators with +1 to damage and reroll wounds can get dangerous too. 20 crossbowmen are there for unleash hell (2attacks then ;) ) and the soulsnare shackles should block the front where gotrek not is

Does flaming weapon work on the whole unit? I thought it only boosted the weapon of the caster.

He seems amazing, but doesn't take seem to thematically fit with a magic heavy list.

Well you could exchange him for a drakesworn templar. He costs a bit more but it is possible to make him fit. He would then get 5+ ward and also be quite tanky. He also give all your other caster +1 to cast. However he has a other role. Gotrek is there to kill the biggest and toughest enemies or prevent them to come to the middle objective. The drakesworn has literally no offense profile itself and deals it damage by eating important models and dealing some mortals against battlelines here and there

I have played this list and found some things to improve. The most important thing in my games was that this list doesn't even know what mobility is. Also evocators are not optimal. My improved list would be this:

How did Gotrek go in your games?

Also Hallowheart has a great horde killer spell in its lore. I would consider dropping purple sun and going the portal instead and you'll have it in your toolbox to really extend on some spell ranges.

This list looks fun to play.

Well he performed extremly well. Far too strong for really casual games. He just runs straight forward and every enemy monster which wants to smash my soft magic core has to pass him or some screened flanks. He is way too tanky to die but even his profile struggles to beat through all these ultra tanky monster heroes. Regarding the spellportal, I have had very few games where I really missed the anti horde spell. It has so specific targets whereas the sun deals so much damage activating twice per battle round (tbf I often rolled very lucky when deciding if the sun became wild)

Oh yes that makes sense. I didn't calculate the damage for an extra hero phase for endless spells and purple sun.

And of course Hallowheart has the spell protection going in case it goes wild. I can see why you like it.

Glad Gotrek goes well. I'm in Aus, so no AOS games for us here in Sydney for a while. Still getting my head around changes from AOS 2 to AOS 3 and Havnt run Gotrek myself.

So I was playing a dumb game today with a steam tank general carrying an arcane tome (Arcane channeling + d3 healing every turn ftw) and I got to thinking some ideas, and questions;

The FAQ says you can take multiples of an enhancement (so multiple universal artefact enhancements), but I wanted to be clear if I can take multiples of the same artefact of power; arcane tome.

I'm building a list now that's a Hurricanum, a SCE Lord-Exorcist, and a battlemage in a warlord/command battalion. If I can give both the exorcist and battlemage arcane tomes, that gives me 8 casts for 490 points. 

So, was wondering if I can take the same artefact (arcane tome) multiple times or I can only have 1 arcane tome total.

Is there an AOS3 Hallowheart forum?  I didn't see it when I searched.  But anyways, I found a box of the battlemages at my FLGS and though hmmm, I have a few endless spells I never use, what about trying this out?  So here's my first attempt at a Hallowheart army with what I've got:

-Frostheart phoenix (general, Veteran of the Blaze, Arcane Tome, Ignite Weapons, Sear Wounds)

-2 Battlemages (not sure what spells to take...for example maybe some from the Battlemage warscroll w the various disciplines?  Definitely want one Elemental Cyclone)

-Runelord and a Warden King

-Steam Tank Commander

-20 Ironbreakers w bomb and pistol

-3x10 Longbeards w great axes

-5 allied Tree Revenants

-Steam Tank

-Quicksilver swords, Soulsnare Shackles, and Umbral Spellportal  (Elemental Cyclone could be cast through the Umbral Portal right?)

Figure the phoenix can take those MW for Eldritch Channeling better than anyone else, and then heal them with Sear Wounds and Heroic Recovery if needed.  Maybe I should trade the Steam Tank Commander and something for my Hurricanum?  Or a Knight-Draconis for hard hitting offense?

Tree Revs to teleport as needed for cheap tactic scoring, etc.  Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated, I have just Dispossessed for battleline.
