Sprinkling more or less confirmed rumours from more reputable sources doesn't make a load of wishlisting more real though.

Nah, dont worry, I just deleted it. I refuse to give any credit to 4chan/tumblr things, even if deserved.

Alltho, that "skavens destroying souls" would have been a cool twist on the "Sigmar lied" narrative, but it's just my rat bs

It feels a bit of a guy guessing right to me. He didn't mention Sacrosanct. Also, BS renewed... guessing time.

Wait, let me get this right. So The Old World doesn't have savage orcs... and now neither does Age of Sigmar? What the hell are going to do savage orc only players now?

Mine are being boxed up and shelved, in the forelorn hope that one day they get Votann-ed.

To be fair, very rarely there are legit leaks that originate from there but it's such a rare occasion. The last one that was not just StD photos was Soulblight Gravelords units list 2-3 months before release. As a rule of thumb - everything that covers 2-3 years in advance is a hogwash in 99% of the cases.

Back when the Ogre Kingdoms were released, Games Workshop were talking about a new movie industry style design system that they had used for the Ogres. They talked about how they were trying to create something that was uniquely Warhammer. Both artistic and intellectual property reasons were subsequently mentioned as reasons for this approach.

Our beloved Beastmen were from an earlier time when GW didn’t have to worry about imitators. Goat legged creatures were being painted by Hieronymus Bosch. They stayed true to their original imagery that resonated so well with our collective consciousness. They never had that re-imaging to make them uniquely Warhammer. That’s why when I heard the rumours, I sadly believed them instantly.

You know what would have been great, if they been kept in. Given the full design team treatment, now that would have been something really special.

Maybe the decission was made when the campaign (focused on boc and bones) flopped so hard that the incarnate ranges were discarded.

When it comes to cross-over stuff from the side games, I can kinda feel the pinch point from GWs perspective, it is neat and cool that you can also use those models in AoS, but it's also unsustainable in a way that (most of the time) their other ranges aren't, keeping every one-off board game model in circulation just cos it has an AoS scroll is going to be impossible sooner or later.  If they had a more robust 'legends' system that would probably be perfect for this type of thing, give the side game stuff bonus warscrolls but clearly label them as something intended for limited use.

The Krondspine was so broken at launch it killed 4 things IRL!

1. The concept of Incarnates

2. The BoC Range

3. The Bonesplittaz

4. The Season of War books.
