The Rumour Thread

Recommended Posts

A bit off-topic, so sorry, for that, but I thought I'd share InfernalBrush's youtube channel, just been watching it in the background while wrapping up gifts... he's a former Eavy Metal painter who has worked on many of our favorite armies and it's really interesting to see him paint stuff in the official EM way, it's not just good for ideas but also picking up some skills and knowledge without grabbing a brush yourself. The Eavy Metal paint jobs are even more pristine than one might think from most photos!

But new lore, new art... I like it! And it is not that much actually. Even worst. For some armies they are almost the only thing that has to be bought for the whole edition.

neither of these are guaranteed though :( which tbf is probably a good thing so you dont have to buy every single tome to find out your own lore

Advent Engine is up (despite not appearing anywhere).

Thinking this has to do with the Nighthaunt(?) hand pouring something and maybe the chemistry set. Maybe a strangely clean Nurgle thing to go with the book I guess.

is this skaven hands?

So dawnbringers 4 is presumably a character for every death faction

- Ushoran cover boy

- legion of blood snake lady

- nighthaunt poisoner

- obr Morghast huntsmen hero

I dont think nighthaunt poisoner, because we already many poisons in Dok, Gloomspite, Kruleboyz, Skaven

Also schizoposting time:

With the amount of potion-centric REs it's not main game, Warcry, UW or even Critters and Keys 2. It's Gorechosen-like filler game with alchemy competition (bonus points for it to be sold only in Barnes&Noble and such).

I dunno I mean wouldn’t that theory also work on their weapons they carry?

Or can‘t carry. Joey the Executioner can‘t even lift his own sword! 🤭

Sorry for always singling you out, Joey, even on Christmas!

Spoiler

I bring some early Christmas gifts today. Believing any of it IS up to you though.

Book 4

What already has been revealed.

  • Morghast Sunwarden

    • Big Morghast with kopesh style blades and elaborate head, ruined architecture base with corpses, huge blue orb in chest radiating energy

    • 〜80-90mm base

Nighthaunt

    • 〜32-40mm base

Slaves to Darkness

  • Kharys, Exalted Spear of The Unnamed Circle

    • Even fancier Varanguard lord on grotesque horse thing

    • 〜100mm round base

Skaven

  • Arch-Warlock

    • Steel frame around Warlock hidden by cloth, lot of cabling and metal

    • Larger than other Skaven (〜 40mm base)

Cities

  • Freeguild Marshal on Realmstrider-Gargoylian

    • 〜80-100mm base

  • Ironwright Engineer

    • Ironweld support character

    • Light armour, carries a lot of iron and esoteric tools

    • 〜25-28.5mm base

  • Pontiff-Martial and Sanctifyer-Acolyte

    • Lightly armoured, injured civilians/Freeguild with cudgels, maces, improvised shields etc. squad of 6-10

    • Options for:

      • Champion (Aqua-Tender Prophet/Pyre Prophet), which can be equipped with an Unberogen Great-Cleanser, which takes 4 other models and puts them together on a single base carrying a big vat/barrel of liquid or flaming pyre

      • Cult Herald, with big tapestry on cloth on big poles strung around their waist showing a battle between Sigmar and a daemon

      • Freeguild Command Corps

Seems believable, although the Death boxes are a bit suspect (more ROR that are not Mortarchs?), and it's a bit "safe", I guess (and no Vandus vs Khul?). Would be happy with that Cities wave though!

And at least everything having a name makes this one pretty easy to confirm/debunk by the time we get our next reveal.

Sounds like some very cool miniatures at least. Let's hope it checks out!

I really doubt the Slaves are getting an Unnamed Circle character since Eternus is the leader of the Unnamed Circle and his lore implies that he has basically converted the entirety of it to Be'lakor worship.

Maybe we'll get a more "official" answer to that (can Be'lakor take Varanguard?) and have this new character (Lady of Ruin?) leading the Archaon loyalists?

All of that sounds really nice but I can't believe that 2 dawnbringers books would get a full CoS release alongside them
